I hired All Pro Renovations to do some repairs from a fire…read more The owner of the company, Ken, started out on a good note with me but over time that changed. I should have known how the project was going to go from the very beginning. The first day of work, the subcontractors showed up, who were great I might add, and they were removing the dry wall from inside the house and I heard Frank on the phone with Ken telling him he needed the sheet rock so they could get done. It took Ken hours to bring it because he was going getting other things so they were just sitting waiting on him. As the project moved on this is how things went. Ken would not bring material for them to work. He was piece milling the material instead of bringing everything at once. About the 2nd - 3rd week Frank informed me they were leaving early because they were out of material and had nothing to do. I didn't get involved but this continued. About a month later I was sitting in the house about 1:30 and saw The subcontractors talking in front of the house and I New they should have been in the back working. I didn't think nothing of it but about 3PM I looked outside and they were gone. I called Frank and asked him why they left and he said they quit. They were not going to work for Ken anymore due to the way he was talking to him when he asked for material. I called Ken and told him to make it right with them because I didn't want anyone else working on my house. I asked Ken to go purchase all of the material and put what he needed in my garage and the rest out side. He still did not do that. He still purchased a little at a time. The last straw was when the subcontractors were doing the roof, I had to go change the shingles because the ones Ken purchased was wrong. He was not talking to Frank at this point so he didn't know what they needed and was buying the wrong stuff. I had to go swap the shingles myself to keep them working. I gave Ken one last shot and said get EVERYTHING that day for the next day. When he still didn't do it and I had to go to Lowe's and get the wood myself! I fired him. The only thing Ken was responsible for was getting the workers what they needed and he couldn't even do that. He did not do any work on my house himself and was delaying the process for the workers who were. After I fired him I hired Frank and Kevin myself because they did not want to work for him anymore. I started to get the materials myself they needed to complete my house. They are great to work with and easy to get along with. Frank and Kevin did great work and I will hire them again. I will NOT work with Ken Mac at All Pro Renovations again and will NOT refer him to anyone.

Had a great experience working with Rick getting siding installed on my house…read more His quote was detailed and clear, stating the exact siding he was going to install. I upgraded to a better quality siding since his price was thousands lower than the next price. Due to COVID, it took quite a while to get my siding in, and he kept me in the loop and offered to switch siding types if I couldn't wait. Siding was installed in a few days and looks great. I am so glad I found this company and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get siding installed. Just love it when I find a contractor who is a straight talker and not trying to play me for boat payment money!

Since our timeline was short, I asked around for some recommendations. I initially called someone that was a one man show. But he said he couldn't come until close to June! The housing market is keeping these type of businesses really busy. Which is great for them. I personally like a small business when it comes to things like this. So I was hesitant when I was recommend on these guys being good. I have changed my attitude after the experience. They have what sound like a few guys with a varying amount of specified skills. So I talked to the people in the office and they paired me with someone. He found out what my timeline was and got me someone different. But they did it all and did it efficiently. Blake was the guy that came in to help. And he was fantastic. It was like he was the puzzle piece for our specific job. Great at small paint jobs, great at sheetrock repair and fantastic at pressure washing. Exactly what we needed. I will recommend Birmingham Fast Repair to anyone moving forward.

Sara and Derek did a great job of picking out colors and materials with us and things came together. When the crews showed up they were very polite and did and outstanding job. Some areas were worse than we thought and they spent time not only doing the repairs but explaining what was being done. When the work was completed we were very pleased and everyone that has seen it has also been very complimentary.

We were kept updated throughout the project, even outside of business hours. Any problems, oversights, or mistakes that we noted (and there were very few) were corrected quickly and professionally. They even connected us with an excellent plumber when we suffered an unrelated problem. They were very patient with us as first-time homeowners and renovators. All our concerns and questions were met with kindness and support, and they reassured us everything would be fine--and they were right. It's been about six months, and no problems have surfaced. SouthFace has our strongest recommendation.

The lines are not cut in cleanly at all and they left paint everywhere (for example dripping down my sink fictures, my bathroom mirror, my leather recliner, my treadmill, new shower door, etc). They removed the popcorn ceiling and though they used plastic, somehow wet debri ended up on my bedding. They installed new hardware on all my cabinets but I had to get them to redo most all of the handles because they were not installed plum and level with the cabinet doors. And I had 3 cabinet door hidnges strip right out of the cabinet. Thankfully my husband had some calk and screws so I was able to fix them. They cleaned their rollers and brushes in my yard which ruined my grass and they left painting equipment IN my bushes. They also did not double coat my trim in several areas nor did they prep the stained trim that was painted. The calking has all dried and shriveled leaving large cracks between my cabinetry and the ceiling in several rooms. This work was done a couple months ago and there is paint chipping everywhere. I also just found out the reason my master bedroom was not warming up on cold nights. When they moved the vent cover to paint the baseboard and tried to put it back they shoved my vent out of the floor casing causing all my heat to escape into my basement. This increased my power bill by 28%!!! This was the final straw to my desicion to do a review. Is the popcorn ceiling gone, yes. Are the rooms painted, yes. Is it a great job? Absolutely not. I am very disappointed at the price I paid for the quality I received. And this was all after my punch list was completed. Again, the owner is an amazingly hard worker but the crew that did my work was aweful.

He was very professional and explained the process in detail every step of the way. I spoke with a few customers that used him previously and they had nothing but praises about him. Mr. McDevitt kept in contact with the City Inspector to ensure everything passed inspection. The price quoted was presented to me and he honored that price. Anything outside of that quote was explained and presented to me before he began the job as the City Inspector found some discrepancies from the previous Contractor. He completed the job timely, actually sooner than I expected. Mr. McDevitt is honest, old school, and truly believes in customer service. He doesn't use a computer for his work and is very detailed. I am in the process of rehiring him to complete another home project for me. I highly recommend McDevitt Construction!!
