Highly recommend. Excellent food. We tried about five appetizers and had dessert, and one thing was better than the next. Can not wait to come back. LOVE finding restaurants that are not chains and bring culture and creativity to the area! read more

Excellent food, generous portions. I had the fettouche and zucchini. Very tasty! I really liked the complimentary bread, labneh and olive oil. Great place, go you'll like it read more

I loved Byblos, the food was outstanding! I had the mixed grill w/rice, my kids had the Spicy Kafta w/fries and the Chicken Kabob Pita roll, they both liked their sandwich. The appetizer plate of olives, cheese and pita chips was out of this world! Not sure what the cheese was, but it had olive oil and lemon juice drizzled on top, IMO it was the hit of the meal b/c I couldn't stop dipping everything on my plate in it. The host was very gracious and accommodating, we had an inexperienced waiter who didn't know the food or drink menu very well; he was a very polite and friendly, but just very inexperienced. We managed to get through ordering, but it could have been better considering the type of restaurant they are trying to be which you can't do with a less than average wait staff. It was a Tuesday evening so that may have been the issue, so that the reason for my 4 star rating. I will definitely return to Byblos. read more

I highly recommend Byblos for dining in or for catering. We had a work event for 100 people last week, catered by Byblos. The owner was very helpful with what to order. The price was reasonable. It arrived on time. Everything was delicious. I've tried several Lebanese restaurants in the DMV, and, in my opinion, Byblos is by far the best. Everyone at the event was raving about the food! Thank you, Byblos. We'll be back again and again. read more

Loved the food here. The kibbeh and baba ganoush are amazing. This is my new favorite restaurant in town. Great service.

Y'all! This is good food. Go here! Eat! We got a sampling of all different foods because eating is our favorite. The portions were big, service was great, and the food was of highest quality! We will be back. Oh, also...they deliver. This could be dangerous. read more

Best restaurant meal we've had in a while. Nothing fancy, but clearly they are proud of their food and take care to present it well. The chicken kabob and mashed potatoes and vegetables were all first rate. Excellent asparagus. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

The 40 minute drive to Byblos was well worth it. We went with a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed the wine, appetizers, and entrees. We ate a wide range of dishes and not one person was disappointed. With appetizers, you would definitely do well with splitting an entree, but why deny yourself the ability to eat this delicious food for another meal? read more

This place is delicious! My wife and I had lunch there today and it was great, we are already thinking about when we can go back.

I think my husband and I have found a new favorite restaurant. Amazing food and great service.

Great staff! The highlight of our visit was the house made pita that are soft and fluffy! Best I've ever had. Side salads are generous and flavorful. Haloumi appetizer is excellent. read more

The lamb kabobs I have were fantastic! My date had chicken, which was also very good. The service was just so so, but I think the waiter was new. I would go again! read more

My favorite middle eastern restaurant by far. Everyone is so nice and the service and food are excellent. I definitely recommend!

Great food, service is good. Delivery available. Not the best location but hoping they are successful.

We heard about Byblos from a flyer we received in the mail and decided to give it a try when we were in the area. We tried their stuffed grape leaves, shish kebab and chicken kebab plates, and the shawarma pita roll, We also ordered assorted baklava for dessert. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. All in all, Byblos is a welcome addition and a great alternative to all the chain restaurants in the Haymarket/Gainesville area! read more

Found this Lebanese restaurant tucked away behind the Tiger US karate studio off Hwy 55 ( across from the Haymarket post office). The yogurt with pita chips, salad, bread and pita sandwich were excellent, I have had better lamb shank elsewhere. The service was efficient, cheerful and informative. There were many more interesting things offered on the menu that we are interested in trying. We highly recommend this restaurant to others. read more

This is by far the best restaurant I've been to this year. My server, Jack, was amazing. He was kind, lively, and all around knowledgeable of every plate and wine on the menu. The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. As an extra treat, the dancer there was exquisite. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends. read more

Great service and awesome food. Having spent time in the Middle East and growing up with Lebanese friends, this is as good as it gets. Immaculately clean environment, fast service and delicious food. We are return customers. read more

I wasn't hungry but couldn't stop eating. Land of the lotus eaters? That's what it was like from the minute I was served the complementary Labneh - a creamy yogurt dip with crusty crackers. I'm a normal guy but there was something hypnotic about this. Maybe I was a member of Odysseus' crew in a previous life, I don't know. The place had just opened for the day and I was the only customer so it was quiet except for the music. There was nothing to break the spell. A dark-eyed enchantress brought me a steaming clay pot of lentil soup. Get this: even the spoon was perfect, large but not too large, deep and well balanced. I should have bought it to carry with me on future food explorations. Sure, I sound like a nut but in the land of the lotus eaters it made sense. With the soup came several mini pitas, too hot to hold for long. I shamelessly sopped up the last of the lebneh. Then followed a lamb kebab pita roll with the roll toasted. Did you get that? Toasted...and inside a medley of shawarma-like delights. I ate half of it then went back to the lentil soup. Satiated I said no more but still I continued to eat until finally out of food I heard myself order the diamond baklava. At $1.25 it couldn't be huge and it wasn't but it was the perfect topper, not smothered in honey so you could eat it like a cookie. Obviously you need no better reason to go here than wanting something to eat but when your taste buds start hankering for something just a bit different, something to knock the ordinary off its bubble, then remember Byblos and enjoy. Me? I'm going to take a nap now and dream happy thoughts in lotus land. read more

I had a house salad, add falafel and stuffed grape leaves and they were delicious! I am telling friends and I'll definitely go back. It's not on the main road, so I fear people won't find this hidden gem. Owner is lovely as well and you can tell he's passionate about his business. read more

To begin, I will say that I will give Byblos another try, because some of the food was very tasty, but there were just too many issues with our service last night to give it more than 3 stars. We had a reservation for 7 on Friday evening at 7pm. Our group was seated promptly. The room is small, with lots of tables, so it feels crowded. The atmosphere is not as pleasant as Nora, the previous location used to be, maybe it just seems stark. We were close to the door, and it was cold all evening, especially when other customers came or went. The chairs were hard and uncomfortable and didn't help with the chilly room. They do not currently have a liquor license. Our waiter , a young man, took our order quickly, but after about 20 minutes returned to tell one of our party that her choice was sold out and did she want to choose something else? We asked for bread, which never arrived. Unfortunately, it took a long time for our food to arrive, maybe 35-40 minutes. When it did come out, 3 of us were served, then 10 min later, 3 more, and it took another 10 for the last meal to arrive. We asked for bread again, and it eventually arrived. The hummus that I ordered on the side, never came out. Most of us seemed happy with what we ordered, other than a comment about some meat pies not being warm on the inside. For myself, I ordered a simple house salad with chicken kebab on the top and the side of hummus. I of course was disappointed in no hummus as it is the best part. There was no feta on my house salad, and when I asked, I was told they were out of feta. Surprising at a Mediterranean restaurant at 7pm on a weekend night. In my opinion this completely ruins the taste of a typical "Greek" style salad, and it was very bland. I will say the veggies were fresh and good and the chicken was very tasty. The bread is indeed delicious. We were never offered dessert, and it took a long time to get boxes for our leftovers, and to straighten out our bills. Maybe 20 more minutes, at least. Luckily we were not in a hurry. The dancer was pretty and nice. She didn't have much room to dance, but she moved around pretty well, and everyone there seemed to enjoy her. Their sound system is not good. read more

Great lamb shank, Sheikh Al Mihshi, and lamb pizza! Nice interior, wasn't crowded. Staff was very friendly.

Yum!! I was inspired to try this restaurant after reading another review saying it was similar to Nora's, which I was SO SAD to see close. I am SO HAPPY to report that Byblos is just as great! It's kind of tucked away and I hope that doesn't affect their business bc the food is DELISH! read more

Recently Byblos was recommended by neighbors who have good taste. We had them deliver to our home and the food was very good. We will use them again as well as go to the restaurant some day. read more
