DO NOT purchase milk from this market!!! It's not only way over priced but you have a good chance of getting sour milk.

Great food. The best potato salad I've ever had. The Philly cheesesteak was amazing. The ladies were awesome. Will definitely be back.

I am surprised that I never wrote a review, shame on me! I read the other reviews and never experienced their complaints. Always attentive, friendly, and have unique items. Have great sales, whoever plans their adds, kudos! Hubby works fairly close to Dandrige, as the crow flies. He decided to stop after work, he loves to shop, and was pleased with his finds!!! He also got some amazing sales woohoo!

Im writing this because just now i opened up some chicken that i purchased yesterday. When i opened it the odor of sulfur immediately flooded my nostrils. That means it's rancid folks. And this is not the first, second or even third time this has happened over a three year period. What to do, wrap it up, drive to the store and let the mgr smell it?! I'd like very much to shove it under the store manager's nose but I wouldn't consider putting this in my vehicle. No, it gets wrapped in a zip lock and immediately taken to the trash convenience center. So my only recourse is to blast these stores on yelp with hopes to make them aware that people notice when they get home with slimy, mushy, smelly out of date meats and produce. And their prices are ridiculous. Their inventory is similar to Winn Dixie if you're from the south or Shop Rite if you're from the north but their prices are as if you are shopping in Whole Foods. Thats just wrong. I assure you Food City is a very far reach from Whole Foods. I live in Dandridge and unfortunately its a 45 min drive for me to go to Ingles, Publix or Kroger so im surrounded by food city Dandridge, New Center and Newport. How unfortunate for me.

I saw that there was a Publix in Pigeon Forge and knew that's where we'd need to go to get our picnic supplies! Because we had flown in (and didn't have picnic basket on our pack list), I knew that we needed to get a small cooler to keep our drinks and sandwiches cool on the warm spring day. Fortunately, Publix had a nice variety of small lunch box size coolers and we found one for a reasonable price that was perfect for what we needed and would collapse down for easy packing to bring it home. We then made our way to the deli and got fresh, deli made sandwiches made with boar's head meats and cheeses. They're fully customizable and we very much enjoyed them! We were also able to grab some fruit, pretzel crisps, boar's head hummus, and bottled beverages to round out our picnic. Everything was great, prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed a beautiful picnic in this beautiful area. One note would be that the deli does get busy. We were there in the ease of spring (ie: no big National Park crowds) and we still had to wait in a bit of a line for our deli sandwiches. So, just something to factor into scheduling. That said, we didn't mind a bit and the sandwiches were worth the wait. Get to it!

I went on the recommendation of some family that was also vacationing in the area and was definitely pleased with how well kept it was, and how even with a crowd everything was clean and neat. We had some of their baked goods, which were fantastic as well. Will definitely go again when I'm up in this area!

Maybe I…read moreshould look up synonyms for nostalgia, because everything Hot Springs was nostalgic for both my partner and I. Hillbilly Market was very nostalgic for us both. They seem to have just about everything you could possibly want or need, just without 5-20 options of brands. Simple. Sweet treats sprinkled throughout and even offerings from local farmers and artists. I have a lot of food allergies and sensitivities that make eating a lot of my favorites really hard. Banana chips is one of them. I haven't had them or much dried fruit in several years because sunflower seed oil seems to be used in the process so often with commercial dried foods. If I do find them, they're typically expensive and then taste like crap. So when I came across this expansive display of all these bags of dried fruits and veggies, Banana chips were the first to catch my eye. I startled a few people with my squeal of excitement as I began snatching up bag after bag of dried fruits and veggie chips. Everything I bought was made with a few simple ingredients. No seed oils or dyes, very reasonably priced and everything I bought is very tasty. I'm certain that this place is a treasure trove for people passing through on the Appalachian Trail. I promise that I practiced some self control and left plenty of dried fruits and treats for them as well. That fridge in the back corner of my photo? Full of meat from what we assumed came from a local butcher. It all looked really good and made us regret not cooking dinner at our cabin at least one night. Though we didn't regret any of the good food we had at local diners. Next time though, for sure. Like most places in Hot Springs, they close a lot earlier than we had expected. I think it was around 6:00 when they closed. We were unsure if this was just the usual or due to the community still healing and rebuilding from the hurricanes. So don't make the mistake we made and think you'll just stop in on your way back from a day of adventure and pick up groceries for dinner.
