Been attending BW Personal Training for about 3 years. I have been to many gyms and had several trainers. Barrett and Natalie make it a pleasure to work out. They are very friendly and non- intimidating. It's easy to engage in conversation with them during the 1 hour session. I usually work out with Barrett and he's good at modifying your workouts if you desire a more challenging program or want to focus on select muscle groups. In addition, you can ask him questions on nutrition if you are unsure. I enjoy the gym atmosphere, too. BW offers the latest in equipment, so you know your membership fee is going to good use! As you can tell, I enjoy my workout sessions at the gym and don't plan to leave any time soon. I encourage you to schedule a visit (or 2 or 3); you'll be happy you did. read more

I've been training at BW Training for the past 4 years with Barrett and Natalie, and I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. When I first started, I didn't really know how to work out properly but they took the time to teach me everything from form to structure, and completely changed the way I approach fitness. The results I've seen since then have been incredible. What really sets BW Training apart is the people. Barrett and Natalie are not only knowledgeable and professional, but genuinely care about your goals. They meet you where you are, push you when you need it, and always keep you motivated and accountable. Beyond the workouts, the environment is something special. The conversations, the energy, and the sense of community make it a place you actually look forward to being. It's more than just a gym it's a support system. If you're looking for a place that will help you grow, stay consistent, and actually enjoy the process, this is it. Highly recommend. read more

I've been working out at BW Training for several years now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Owners Barrett and Natalie have created an outstanding gym that feels more like a supportive community than just another workout spot. What stands out most is the personalized attention and genuine care they put into every session. The small group training format keeps things motivating and fun, while still allowing Barrett and Natalie to tailor the workouts to your individual goals and fitness level. 5 1/2 stars. I come here for many reasons. Personal health fitness, break a little sweat and always a good time. Barrett keeps me challenged. The workouts are changed up at regular pace so I continue to strengthen. During workouts, Barrett stays aware of any pain i might have and helps with correction. read more

In my search for personal training, BW stood out because of all the glowing reviews. After having such a great experience myself, I'm here to add my own! I've been training with Natalie for about 6 months now, and she's helped to effectively build up my workouts and my strength! I wanted to focus on strengthening my upper body to see if it could help alleviate my chronic migraines. At their worst, I was having a migraine every 48 hours. I recently pinpointed that neck tension is one of my primary triggers (holding tension from stress, working at a computer all day, compensating for no upper body strength in general). I went to physical therapy earlier this year and saw some reduction in my migraine frequency, but my progress plateaued and they recommended I try something else. Rather than depend on a growing list of medications, I wanted to see if I could address the root cause. My goal felt kind of intangible, but I've seen a change in my life that I didn't think was possible. Nowadays, I get a migraine roughly once every two weeks. It's been a huge relief. I'm excited to keep getting stronger! read more

I have been going here for 4 years. Barrett and Nat are amazing...they don't let you slack off, but they are also conscientious of your limits and help you meet your goals. Only a little bit of torture! read more

I wanted to start working out again but with a lot of health complications I was worried if getting a personal trainer was something I should do. Barrett and Natalie were very welcoming. They Taylor your training session to your needs. Always checking up to make sure you feel ok during the session. The gym is very welcoming. Being away from the gym for awhile you could feel discourage but everyone is so nice, the gym is clean and spacious. read more

I started coming to BW 13 months ago, training 3 days a week. I've lost about 50 lbs since I started coming here (Pic attached). After being fit all my life I struggled with suddenly gaining weight and not being able to lose it for the prior 5 years. After seeing some specialists and a lot of bloodwork tests, I found out I was premenopausal and was told that getting serious about weight training was the only way to now lose the weight. Things I love about this gym: 1). Variety of clients. From 20 year olds to folks in their 70's. Natalie and Barrett take time to get to know each person and their personal goals and tailor their workouts accordingly just for them. From goals of losing weight, building muscle, rehabbing an injury, and training for sports... to someone like me struggling with premenopausal weight gain 2). Pre-planned workouts that change up every session to keep it interesting. I love that they pre plan the work out and even get everything set up for me as I go so that I can move from set to set quickly without having to set up myself or even think. I feel like I get almost double the workout done in a shorter amount of time because of this. 3). Hands on training. Natalie and Barrett are always helping me perfect my form to get the most out of each movement and workout. I've learned so many tips on how to do things right. And I love how if a move is too hard they modify it immediately. They are also very experienced with stretching exercises to help with any mobility issues or tightness which I love doing after the workout. 4). Lots of cardio machines (peloton bike, peloton treadmill, stair climber, ski machine, rower, etc) that I can use for free outside of my regular workout session. Often incorporated into my set session for a cardio boost. 5). Family owned and operated. Always feel like I'm part of a community when I come here. All the clients are so friendly and so supportive of each other. I love that I often find myself laughing as I workout from some of the funny conversations happening around me. 6). Parking is so easy. Always a spot right outside the front door. I am always running late so this is important to me. Lol If you're thinking about starting weight resistance training don't wait another second and just call and make your first appt to try it out. A year really flies by and your future self will thank you if you just do it. Truly life changing. I can't thank BW training enough for changing my life for the better. Best decision. read more

Except for avoiding taxes, training with Barrett or Natalie is the best thing you can do for yourself. Not only do you get expert advice, but you also get personal tailored attention to your specific needs. In addition to the benefits of training, since it is a small gym, a sense of camaraderie develops as you get to know the other members. The rates are reasonable, so you get great value for your money. I have trained with them for many years and appreciate their contribution to maintaining my health. read more

Barrett and Natalie are amazing trainers! Coming up on my 2nd year training and I've notice such a difference in my strength and my body. I have to leave a review for my favorite place to go during the week. A small preface, I sustained a back injury from weightlifting in 2016 and had surgery in 2019 to relieve the pain of the disc bulge that had left me sidelined. Got back into weightlifting this year, April of 2023. I reached out to Barrett around July to help ensure my form was good and I was training properly. Although squats and deadlifts are never to be part of my regiment again, Barrett still helps me find ways to get the full body workout in every week, while avoiding any strain on my lower back. The atmosphere is very welcoming every time you walk in. There's no thinking involved when you arrive, because Barrett (and Natalie!) has everything ready to go for your full hour. If you're on the fence about joining, stop thinking about it and just do it! read more

I wish I had found this place five years ago--before I got out of shape. I've been a member of big name gyms in the past but I was totally unmotivated to go regularly. I happened to see this gym on my way to pick up some food and everyone inside looked happy so I called them up. Natalie and Barrett are the owners and I love working out with both of them. They are always changing things up and in only two months, I've lost weight, gotten stronger, and my clothes fit better. I wasn't sure that this was possible due to my age but they are so patient and tailor the workouts to my capabilities so that I don't get injured. I can't say enough good things about Natalie and Barrett and their gym! read more

After being away from gym workouts since Covid, I just finished 4 weeks of personal training with BEN! I have had personal trainers in the past, not to mention years of PT for joint problems, pre and post surgeries. BEN is by far the best trainer/instructor I have ever had. He watched my every move on every exercise to make sure I was doing them correctly. I strongly recommend him for all your training needs. read more

The facility is clean and organized. I could not give this place a higher recommendation!!! read more

I've been coming to this gym for about 2.5 years now. Barrett and Natalie are always so friendly and make the gym environment easy going while I try to get through my workouts. They listen to your goals and cater your workouts specifically on what you're trying to achieve. I have had to take time off because of work schedules but I always make sure to come back whenever I have the time. They always give me a warm welcome and I've even made friends with the other clients during my sessions. I'm so spoiled and will never go back to a commercial gym. I just show up and I have my own designated workout area and they always show me my exercises and I get so much done in 1 hour. I have gotten so much stronger and I've even picked up an interest in weightlifting thanks to Barrett. They are a family owned small business and I love to support them. If you're looking for a personable trainer, I highly suggest trying your first session, it's free! read more

I highly highly highly recommend BW Personal Training. Here are some of the things I love about this gym. * Barrett and Natalie are incredibly nice people. I've only worked out with Barrett, but everyone that walks in is greeted and there is a great vibe throughout the gym. * All I have to do is workout. All the thinking is done by Barrett. There is no waiting for machines, adding/removing weights, trying to think of what I want to do next - he handles all that and it saves a ton of time. He will also keep an eye out to make sure my form is okay and I don't cause myself injury. * The workouts are always different, interesting, and challenging. One workout with Barrett is probably equivalent to about 3 or 4 workouts I'd do on my own. * The equipment is new and the gym is very very clean. * Parking is super easy. No parking structures or waiting for a spot - huge time saver Give them a try, you'll be happy you did! read more

Barrett and Natalie have been great to work with. Each client is designated a portion of the gym to work out and the pace is perfect along with a super friendly environment. Barrett works around injuries and is careful to not exacerbate any. Workouts are never boring as exercises are targeted yet mixed up for every session. read more

I looked for what seeemedl like the best place for me, without regard for location. I was willing to drive for quality. I couldn't believe there would be something close that was that good. Turns out there was. I train with Natalie, who is super nice, super supportive, and super knowledgable. She keeps track of what I've been doing, plans what I need to do, and encourages me to do my best. Barrett always has a smile and a hello, and I can't believe how comfortable I feel walking into a gym. It's not giganitic like the chain gyms, but has very well-maintained equipement, and plenty of it. I am so happy I found them! read more

Very knowledgeable and patient. Always prepared, my workouts move quickly and are challenging. They make it so I don't have anything to worry about other than my workout. Another huge positive is their availability. If I have questions or concerns they are very attentive and always monitoring my progress and form.. BW is perfect for the beginner or the advanced athlete. They tailor each workout to the individual need of their client. They have given me the confidence in the gym that I lacked before. Thanks so much read more

I started with Barrett back in Dec. 2018 for 6am session and I enjoyed my training - and that say a lot as I am not a morning or a gym type of person. The first week was rough but Barrett was there to motivate me. I tried a few different personal training places before and I am glad I found BW personal training. Like many of his client stated - , Barrett is extremely knowledgeable, highly professional, excellent at tailoring the training to each individual client. He's very friendly and personable guy. His gym is clean, well-organized and up-to-date equipment. Unfortunately I have to stop training due to my hectic work schedule - nothing to do with Barrett. There no way I can get my ass up for 5am gym session and get to work at 6 in Irvine ...But I will return once thing calm down. I miss going to BW. Thank you Barrett for being a great trainer! read more

I've been training at BW Personal Training for a few years now and absolutely love it. Barrett is a great trainer, and I just recently have gotten the chance to consistently train with Natalie. She is incredible at pushing me to dig into my competitive side to be my best and get the best results. She helped me with setting fitness goals for myself and has worked with me to target those goals in training sessions. There hasn't been a single session that I have left their gym feeling like I didn't get the most out of my workout. I feel excited going into each training session with her as I know she will do everything she can to help me improve each time. I would highly recommend BW Personal Training to anyone and everyone! read more

We worked out with Barret for almost a year until we were relocated. Hands down the most fun I have ever had working out. It doesn't get much better than Barrett when it comes to versatility in training. I met Barrett 3 years ago after moving to Huntington Beach and needed a kickstart in my workouts. I was hesitant at first, being that I have a sports background and felt I had a good grasp on motivating myself and staying fit. But Barrett always found new workouts that he was able to modify and adjust to keep me guessing. Bottom line, Barrett is a highly knowledgeable and humble trainer who can build a program for anyone. I've seen him work with teenagers looking to advance in their sport, my wife just after having our first baby, and even old washed up athletes like me (: read more

My family all works out with Barrett. He is so good we followed him from another gym when he opened his own location a little further from our home. But it is worth the drive! Barrett is professional but has also become a good friend to everyone who works out there. The small group training is fun because you get to know a few other people but still get personal attention regarding your own goals and your individual workout. Barrett is highly trained and certified so if you have any specific challenges you need to work through he is the training for you - Just don't try to take my time slot! read more

I'm not a gym buff. I've never been to a gym nor do I know how to use the equipment in them. I was referred to BW by my brother who's been working with Barrett for about a year. I notice my brother's transformation before I even looked at the BW Personal Training web site. Barrett provides me with a stress free workout without thinking about what muscle group I'm ignoring IF I were to workout on my own. The atmosphere is friendly so I'm not intimidated workout here. read more

Barrett is the best personal trainer we've worked with. He first seeks to understand where you are, your goals, style, capacity. Barrett at BW Personal Training is the best personal trainer I have worked with, personally and professionally. Personally, I have been training with him twice a week for the past few months, and his knowledge about the anatomy and bio-mechanics is amazing. He designs my exercises around my pre-determined goals everyday, and I have noticed a tremendous difference since the first day. Lately, I have been dealing with some knee issues and he has been adjusting his recommended work-outs based on my progress, so that they would not interfere with my progress. Professionally, as a doctor of chiropractic, I have been recommending my own patients to see Barrett. He is a proud Marine, a true professional and gives back so much more than he should to the community. read more

Barrett is easily the best trainer I've ever worked out with. He makes training fun, keeps things interesting, and helps you to focus on your goals. He also knows how to make accommodations for personal issues - like bad knees - while still making sure you work hard. He also worked me out after my first pregnancy and was instrumental in helping me to lose the baby weight, and to stay in shape during my next pregnancy.
