    Buywise Domestics

I purchased a wardrobe through Buywise Domestics and the whole process was extremely disappointing…read more I ordered the item and gave them the instructions to leave in the porch, this information then failed to reach the delivery driver who just didn't bother to drop it off (nowhere to put it apparently). No one contacted me and in the end I had to find out myself where it was. I then had to wait another week for the item to be delivered. Once the item had been delivered, we opened the box to see to one of the panels had the incorrect holes in it and even a split at the top. I rang the store explaining this, I then got accused of being wrong saying the panel should be right and that they would ring back giving technical advice - which never happened. As I didn't want to wait for a return call I went ahead and had to drill my own holes. The item got put together but it is unstable due to the split. The only answer the management could give is a replacement panel... after it had been put together. I then asked if there could be a part refund due to the poor quality of the product and terrible customer service. This then got rejected and they offered items "at a discount" in the future. Their idea of discount is between 1% of the original value, where I could still source it online for cheaper and actually get some decent customer service and a product that gets delivered and in good condition. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ANYTHING THEY DELIVER, JUST AVOID... UNLESS YOU WANT BROKEN FURNITURE AND WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF.

I have made many visits to Currys, living nearby Banbury, and it would be my first choice for anything electrical or household appliance based. I have usually found what I've looked for, if not then from Comet about 20 yards away! The store does have a few faults. It is aften disorganised in there. They really dont seem to get much custom as there is hardly ever anyone in there and the staff always seem slightly shocked when someone enters! Sometimes too, I'll have to go to find someone to come and operate the checkout, in order to actually buy and leave! The Shop and chain generally now do not compare with internet shopping, which in general is much cheaper. Nevertheless Currys is ok for an urgently needed part or if you want a physical browse of an item such as a computer. The staff know what they're talking about and can give good advice.

Banbury is big, feels quite impersonal and though the stock is displayed about as well as I have ever seen it in any other Curry's branch, shops like the branch at Riverside seem to have better technically-minded staff, so you are never quite convinced that you are getting the best advice. I generally drop into the big electrical stores every so often, to keep up with what is available in that market and decide whether it is worth changing what I have, but I have never been swung by a Curry's employee, nice and all as some of them are. The chain has a long way to go when it comes to inspiring desire in their customers, particularly for hifi and computers. If anyone from the 'retail experience' side of Curry's ever reads this: get yourself to an Apple store - you have a lot to learn!
