There was a grill at the site we were at. No table, but we brought one. It did look like they may have some available at some of the other sites. They have a nice little bathroom/shower house on the grounds for use if needed. Having the boat ramp right there was ideal for taking our kayak out and you can fish off the dock behind the owners house. The dogs that were roaming around did not bother us and the pitbull was super sweet! The area is beautiful and peaceful! Plenty of room to roam. We would stay here again for sure!

The place was so quiet most of the time, I thought we might be the only people actually staying in our RV. There are several other RVs out there, but we saw only a couple people at one of them while we were there. Dogs are not required to be on a leash here. We only found this to be a problem when one pitbull was especially friendly and jumping on us. We have no idea what the 3-4 dog's names were, or who they belonged to. Dogs poop where they want, and no one is picking it up....however, with that said, I never saw one poop near a campsite. They always did their business further out. There are no concrete pads, no picnic tables, no grills, etc here. This wasn't an issue for us, but you might want to know. It was very cold during our stay from January 3-7, 2022. We had no issues with our water, sewer, or electricity. It was a tight fit for our 42' fifth wheel at the first site they were going to put us, so we needed to move down a bit to a larger area. Luckily, there were many open sites, so this wasn't an issue. There are kayak rentals on the property, and lots to do in the area. There is some fracking going on closeby. A generator (or something that makes a lot of noise) ran a lot of the time we were there. Thankfully, we can sleep through just about anything, so this wasn't a big issue for us. It did detract from the quiet during the day, when we would've preferred to hear nature instead. This fracking is not taking place on the RV park property. They have no control over when this noise is going to come and go. I can see that this would be a big problem for some people. It was loud. But, it didn't bother us a lot because we were gone a lot of the time. My husband would probably say his favorite thing on this trip was the Measurement and Time Museum in Jefferson. He spent over 2 hours touring and talking to the owner. I enjoyed the shopping and talking to all the shopkeepers. There were some cute plus size clothes at Yesteryear and also The Front Porch. I'm hard to fit, and picky about the length of my shirts, and found exactly what I needed. We enjoyed the BBQ at Riverport, and the French Dip sandwiches at McGarity's. Service was good everywhere we went. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The Kroger and Walmart in Marshall are nuts! I've never seen a busier grocery store than the Kroger, and I've lived in heavily-populated Arlington, TX most of my life. It was hard to find a parking spot. We were disappointed to find out the local steamboat/paddleboat recently sank and is no longer available for tours. Also, because it was the week after New Year's, many shops, restaurants, and museums were closed for an extended period of time - some all the way to Feb. 1st. I highly recommend calling first before going somewhere, if you're coming in January.

God's Country Resort - This teepee is an example of the poor maintenance

This RV resort is a mixed bag! The location on the eastern ridge offers beautiful scenery. But…read moremaintenance is sorely missing. I would have expected more going in Memorial weekend! Some of the spaces are wide and well maintained (western side of highway,) so make sure you pay for the upgraded space. If not, the space is tiny and cramped. They have a great concept including camping in teepees, covered wagons, and other nice looking cabins, but the facilities are running down quickly due to NO maintenance.

Overall it sucks. We excepted it to be one park all together with our family but instead all got…read moresplit up because we found out it is two separate locations across the highway. The second day in the management already sucked. One side of the park doesn't even have management, people were outside late at night having loud music drinking beers and being loud! But they didn't come get on to them it was just the other side that they cared about. Their management was very disrespectful and very unwelcoming! The "management" told us we couldn't even ride our golf carts to our cabin in the front even though we had to get to it. Then they came drove up on us and got out of their car in their pjs and got in our faces and yelled at us mind you we are teenagers and these are big grown people, but instead of going to our parents they threatened us by saying they would take our golf carts that we paid lots of money for because they have "the right" even though we're paying them. They didn't end up doing that but if they did we would except our money back. They offer golf carts but we couldn't even ride them because they got complaints about us riding them around at night. They said they got calls from people literally watching us from their campers (how creepy). They said we were driving "too fast" on them even though they don't go fast at all being they don't even charge them. Their headlights on most of them don't even work because their such bad management. They stay in their pjs all day instead of fixing these things! The female was very rude to us but don't even get me started on the male very very disrespectful terrible human being just overall both terrible. Maybe their management would be better if they got out of their camper and out of their pjs put some shoes on and got to fixing things. I very very very highly do not recommend coming here. Place is great but management sucks therefore ruins the whole experience because they live their and just show up at peoples houses. They need to get it together they act like they don't need the money they get from people like us but clearly you can see if you come that they do. Their camper is junky, the man watches us creepily and doesn't wear shoes while picking his nasty feet, his wife stays in her pjs and gets in young girls faces. I'd say they either need to change the name or remove the management because they suck and their far from godly people so it definitely ain't no gods country resort!

RENTER BEWARE - Know Their Damage Policy Before You Stay…read more I would encourage anyone considering Fernbrook RV Park to understand the park's policy on damage to your RV while on their property. While a Fernbrook employee was mowing next to my RV, a rock was thrown by the mower and struck the side window. The large window on the side of the RV was shattered. I contacted the park's ownership in writing, provided a repair estimate, and requested a written response regarding the damage. It has now been two weeks, and I have received no response from the owner. I understand that the park's posted policy states that the campground does not assume liability for loss or damage to campers' property. However, when damage occurs while an employee is performing maintenance next to a guest's RV, I believe the situation deserves at least a response and an opportunity for the matter to be addressed. My biggest concern at this point is not only the cost of the damage, but the lack of communication and follow-through from ownership. If you choose to stay at Fernbrook RV Park, I strongly recommend reading the liability language carefully and understanding that you may be responsible for damage to your RV even when the damage occurs during campground maintenance. That is information I wish I had considered more carefully before staying there.
