Brought exactly what we needed. Repaired the fence in a timely manner. Replaced two sections of our wrought iron fence.

The owner refuses to call me to discuss anything. I have been trying to get him to call me since May 29th and he refuses. Bottom line up front: Buzz Fence took 9 months to complete a 3-day job. They fail to read the instructions on the parts and then do a poor installation. Instead of doing the job correctly they double down and keep doing it incorrectly. Buzz did many things incorrectly on this project, but I am just going to walk through the process of installing a handle on a side gate door. Go to Google and you can see another review I did of the company earlier in the year. On March 24th the crew initially tried to install the handle. They ran into trouble when they discovered that the handle would not fit properly on the door. They decided they needed longer screws as the screw that came in the package was not long enough. They said they would complete it the next day after getting longer screws. The next day they came out and did one side and the other side of the gate they just left the handle off (See picture 1). Buzz was unaware the handle was left off until I called and told them. A crew came out without notifying me and to make the handle fit they cut the wood to make the width of the door smaller. (See picture 2). You can see the poor cuts that they made. This also had the effect of making it where you can't put your hand into the handle to open the door without scraping up your knuckles. The handle was not designed to be installed like that. This was March 31st I notified Buzz about this, and they sent a guy to replace it all. On April 28th this guy also ran into the problem that the screws were not long enough, so he put a piece of tape over it and spent 3 weeks trying to find a correct screw size to get it to fit. (See Picture 3). On May 19th he finally found a screw and jammed it in. (See Picture 4.) You can easily tell this is not the correct screw size as it does not fit the hole. I told him this was not correct and pretty sure this is all going to fail within a year. Sure enough the lock failed and I called out Buzz to fix it. On Sept 10 they finally came out and the same guy from before took apart the lock and reassembled it. It "worked" but just by using the handle you could tell it was not right. I told him that it would probably fail again so don't be surprised when I have to call you all out again. I was out of town for three weeks but when I got back, I tried the handle, and it had failed. I called Buzz on Sep 26 and spoke to a woman, and she was going to be the new point of contact and would order a new handle. I waited patiently for 3 weeks and never heard anything. I called Buzz and found out that woman had been fired (as had the guy that tried to install the lock the previous time). Buzz did not know the woman was supposed to have ordered a new lock and knew nothing about it. I wondered why Buzz was struggling so hard to do something so simple. I looked up the part myself. When I went to the website and read the instructions it stated if the door is wider than 2 inches you must buy the extension kit. The door on my gate is 2.5 inches. I called Buzz and told them this and verified they had bought the extension kit. Buzz knew nothing about that and had to order the extension kit. So, I waited longer. On Nov 10th Buzz came out to install the new lock with extension kit. A different guy was installing it this time and as he was installing the handle I noticed it was black and the other one was silver. I pointed out it is the wrong color. (See picture 5). So, Buzz needed to order the correct color. On Nov 24th Buzz came out to install the correct part. During the installation I point out that the spindle needs to be between 3/8 and 5/8 of an inch otherwise the lock will bind or not engage (per the instructions). He did not know this but took the time to trust me and verify. We measured the spindle, and it was an inch, so he cut the spindle down to correct length. The guy gets halfway through the installation and then realizes he left the extension kit at his house, so the part was not installed yet. On Nov 25th Buzz comes out again to install the part. This time he has the part, the extension kit, and the part finally gets installed. (See picture 6). All the above was because Buzz never read the instructions or measured the door. Instead of ordering the extension kit everything from above was done. So much of my time was wasted as I had to be there solve their problems. Sadly, this wasn't just the case for the handle. I had to read the instructions for the operators and tell them that they wired them incorrectly. Instead of replastering a post that they damaged they tried to just paint it over when the post was damaged down to the fibers. There is a post that is unlevel and causes the gate to not latch properly. Instead of measuring it first they jammed a few washers underneath that move. (see Picture 7). read more

After our gates were installed, there was an issue with one of the locks. Buzz Fence sent their troubleshooter/fabricator Josh out and he fixed the problem promptly. He also did another small weld without charging which we really appreciated. This was a difficult project because we kept changing our plans. The estimator Tia kept on top of things and we are very pleased with our new gates. i am disappointed in Buzz Fence. They were two weeks late starting and kept leaving the job when they did start. they left an open trench in my yard that I had to deal with myself. The gate keeps opening and closing randomly letting my dogs out. I had several lower quotes but I went with Buzz because I recognized the name. The bill was the only part of this nightmare that was prompt and accurate. I'm afraid this is going to end up in court. read more

I have upped my star by 1 as a result of communication that occurred after I put this review up. See my comments at the bottom where I share the follow up.... This is my second time to use Buzz. The first time was to get a gate installed. Overall happy with that job, with the exception of the spring being faulty. They eventually fixed that. When a long part of our fence needed replacing, decided to go with them a second time. The communication was initially appropriate. Once the 1/2 of the money was paid, the waiting game started. They did ok on communicating what was taking so long. They explained about weather, ordering the fence supplies, etc. Keep in mind, this all happened recently during the COVID lockdown so I don't fault any thing related to supplies and a hard to pin down date for installing it. They showed up on a day I was out of town. It was unavoidable. They had told me they would put it in whether I was there or not. I agreed, although I wished I could have been there. It was my mom's 80th birthday in San Angelo, not going to miss that :) When I got home, the problem began. They moved the fence over about 3 inches into the neighbor's yard from the original fence line (see pics). And one post was left in the cement in the ground. What it appeared to me, was that they moved the fence over because they avoided the post they left in the ground. Confused over this, some communication went back and forth via their representative. Short version is that he was quick to say they left that post there as it was not part of the original fence line. ?? huh ?? I only had one fence between me and my neighbor's yard. I am the original homeowner and have been here since 2003 when this house was built. First and only time to do anything to that entire section of fence. Rather confusing to me. They agreed to cut the post off level with the ground. This doesn't address the moving of a fence line about 3 inches into the neighbor's yard, and that there remains a large cemented area where the post was at. All communication quickly ceased. I explained I felt this was inappropriate in written communication (after several phone calls). The rep did not return any further communication and silence has been the order of the day since. Without being a total jerk and being a rude angry customer, not sure what else to do at this point. The fence is in and the damage has been done, they are now withdrawn from communication. I have been professional and courteous. I am at a complete loss as to how and why they would a) chose to leave one fence post in, b) move the fence over about 3 inches to avoid the remaining fence post, and c) claim it was because it was not part of the original fence. We had planned to run a bed of milk weed down that side of the fence for Monarch Butterfly life cycle encouragement, something we will still do. Just going to have one blank section due to a massive cement block in the ground. I'm too old to dig it out myself, especially after having a bone marrow transplant. I would have given a one star, except the actual fence is built really well. I do not recommend them as they hustled to get my business, and have gone completely silent after the fact when some kind of serious error occurred. The rep also fabricated a reason why the fence post was left in the ground (not part of the original fence), I just can not respect such a style of business. Completely unacceptable for such an expensive venture and I am very disappointed in them. EDIT: adding this one day later. Tracy Miller at the company called me this morning. She was concerned about my displeasure with the experience. I shared my thoughts and opinions, and how I felt. She shared it is an industry standard to not remove the cement from the ground when a new fence is put in, hence their not doing so. I suppose if this is the standard, then so be it. She offered to have the one cement base of the post mentioned above removed, no questions asked. I declined seeing as, if this is an industry standard, I would have not made a different choice on the day of installation. I learned a little more about the fencing industry. She offered to tear this fence down and build a new one, no questions asked. The goal would be to place it over the previous fence line. She called my neighbor, then called me back. He declined, feeling that would be excessive at this point. I agreed to his decision. I did share that my concerns after the fact could have been avoided with proper communication, she agreed. I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about our experience with Buzz Fencing! The entire staff was phenomenal from start to finish. They started our project about 3 weeks after finalizing of the project and then since we had a smaller project (just a gate & one side of a fence) it took the guys 7 hours. Fransisco and Jorge I believe were their names! Super kind and did a great job cleaning up afterwards since they had to tear down a very old fence with lots or nails. I can't speak to what your records "say", but I've asked for someone to come to the house to see the install is not complete. They have refused to send anyone out to look. I have all fencing and current physical proof the fencing is not complete... The fence is not up. That's the physical proof. Contract shows 301' of linear fencing and I do not have 301' feet installed. I would love for someone to come out and look, but this business would rather say "records show complete" than offer good customer service and send someone out. The nice thing about technology and photography these days is, we have a lot of it with time stamps. I have Google earth images, street view images and personal images with metadata showing that since the first part of the install until present day, Buzz has not honored our contract. I've been doing other projects and have kept many of these images for yard work reference so luckily I have that physical proof for when I file breach of contract. All images show no fencing other than the initial part of the install. All of my evidence easily matches and is consistent. Also, fully charging me for the job a SECOND time is not acceptable. I did the math... what you offered was not discounted at all. I feel confident, this will all get worked out in the end, but until then, I feel others should be made aware. read more

I received this quote for a fence around my pool through Home Depot. They gave me a nice quote based on measurements and I accepted. They arrived several days late to start the project. When they arrived, they said they had misquoted me and wanted to add $600 to the project because the salesman never came out to measure. They never finished the fence and have taken weeks to come back to complete it. I was treated as a side project. Only coming out when they were in the area and had free time. Lastly, the guys did a great job on the fence but THEY left 5 caps off the posts. I have left 3-5 messages on Nikkis cell phone, nothing but crickets. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company due to poor customer service. I contacted a major Home Improvement retailer to request quotes on fence replacement/repair. They quickly referred my request to this private contractor. Buzz promptly sent a representative out and I had a pleasant visit with the person. He informed me that he would need until the weekend or following Monday to get the multiple quotes to me. Ive requested quotes to replace my fence with either vinyl, cedar, or to repair my existing fence (in case the cost is exhorbitant and will give me more time to save money for the replacement). The verbal estimates were more than double my expected costs. Still I wanted the quotes to look over the details and decide on which path forward. I definitely wanted to get fence work done. Now, more than three weeks later, I have never received the quotes and my three emails requesting status have been ignored. Reading Yelp reviews now I see this is a common theme with this company. This is no way to treat a customer and should be a warning to anyone considering Buzz Fence for fence work. Clearly they do not want any business or to treat customers with respect. Next up I'll be contacting the original company who chose Buzz Fence and letting them know how poorly they are being represented. read more

MONTHS LATER I still never received the quote and I called them multiple times about the issue and they would always say, "someone will call you back." And no one ever called me back. Our experience with Buzz Fence has been nothing short of frustrating. The project is for my parents' house. We had our wooden fence with electric gate installed in February (It took a bit to connect the gate to power). It did not take long to see that the fence has gaps and needs battens installed in the fence. We also suspect that despite discussing our sprinkler system with the installer before hand, part of the fence seems to have been put over some of the sprinkler heads. We spoke with Jason, our project contact, and he evaluated the situation and was supposed to submit the work order at the beginning of March. Since then, nothing has happened, except, we did receive an invoice that was marked 30-60 days late. Funny how they could manage to bill us, but not actually complete the work. The Bill was not late since it was the first one we had received. Even after repeated calls to the company, nothing has been resolved. There is a corner of the fence that remains unfinished, and the gate is now rusting because they never installed the caps on the top of it to keep water out. We just want the project finished and done right. That shouldn't be too much to ask! read more

Stay away from Buzz Fence if you are a homeowner with a small fence project. It feels that they only want to do big projects. Their product is good, but their after installation customer service is horrible. My electric gate stopped working, and two of the welds came loose on my iron fence. I called them to please send someone out to diagnose the problem and to fix the two welds. I was told there is a 4 week wait, I made the appointment for 4 weeks later. I had to follow up after 4 weeks to find out when they are sending someone. A week later a gentleman showed up and diagnosed that the battery was bad on the gate motor. He did not have a replacement battery in his truck. Could not tell me what it will cost to replace, and could not tell me when he would be able to come out to do the job. Indicated that I would go back in line and have to wait. He did not know anything about the welds. I ended up replacing the battery myself. Three weeks later they sent an invoice for the service call. When I questioned them that I am still waiting for someone to come out to fix the loose welds, I was told that a sales person will call me. It took a week for her to call. I was out of office when she called and I immediately called back when I returned. Had to leave her a voice mail. 4 weeks have passed since the call and I am still waiting. Update: I changed my initial review from 2 stars to 4. Joe from Buzz Fence called me yesterday about my problems with the repairs. He was very courteous. He helped to resolve my issue within 24hrs. It is a pity that it took 3 months and a bad review before Buzz Fence would complete my repairs. read more

The four stars is because it would have been helpful if someone from sales would have showed up at the time of installation to be sure the installer was clear on the details of the install. Fortunately I work from home so could answer how the pickets were going to face. I was told it would be in the work order but obviously the installer needed that clarification. The last reason for the four stars was the language barrier between myself and the installer. Several issues came up that needed solving and it was hard to communicate. Our fence was not plumb and they did not use enough concrete to set the poles. The first storm and it was leaning so much we had to take it apart and reset all the poles ourselves to make sure they were straight and had enough concrete to hold them in wind. will not be using them again. read more

Buzz custom fence was not the least expensive quote I received for a residential retaining wall/wood privacy fence/iron fence and iron slide driveway gate project. But I chose them because they said they could do it all. Total this project cost over 14k which is a lot of money for me and therefore a carefully considered decision. Ill start with what they did that was good. The side by side 6' tall cedar picket privacy fence was installed with cemented pipe posts and pressure treated 2x4 rails. I am happy with what buzz did and I would not compromise on that. The iron picket fence was also good and installed well. However going on to the negative the install was a month behind what we scheduled. I tore down the old wood privacy fence myself to save on my expense and I took a week of vacation to be home during the time buzz was supposed to do the install. The problem with that is I have animals and with no fence it was extremely inconvenient. The other problem was I don't get my vacation back for that week that buzz didn't show up and my time was wasted. The retaining wall portion of the project was contracted by buzz with an independent cement company. It began cracking less than a year after it was installed and that part of the project was very $$. I'll include photos in this review. The driveway slide gate was the biggest disappointment. I ordered the top to be rounded but instead received a gate that was flat on top like the fence. It was installed while I was not at home so I got what I got. When I brought up this issue with the gate to buzz I was told they would compensate that oversight with a $500 refund. I did ask if there was an option to get the gate I wanted and they said they would get back to me. Time went by and I did not get an option for the gate I wanted nor did they ever refund the $500 compensation. There were also consequent issues with the gate within the 12 month warranty window that buzz attempted to fix multiple times. The main issue being that the gate began scraping the ground/driveway and not being able to open/close. The gate was cut and welded with new wheels in different locations 3x with the end result of the gate being 8" off the ground but at least it can be opened/closed. I'll include photos of the chop job on the gate as well as being left way off level at one of those "fixes". My expensive take away lesson from buzz custom fence is do not pay for a job until it is completed 100% to satisfaction. Final payment is collected when the job is complete. I should have waited until it really was complete and I'm sure they would have corrected the issues quickly and all would be right. I feel a little stupid being naive about that and trusting in honest integrity when I was spending so much $$. Lesson learned. read more

I had these guys out on numerous occasions to look at a gate they installed because the gate kept not working. They ended charging me over $1000 for work they did incorrectly the fist time. Fast forward 8 months. Still the gate didn't work along with another gate they didn't install. They came out and gave me a bid of over $4k to repair. I called Aberdeen Gate and they came out and fixed both gates for $287 compared to the $4k these guys quoted me. The problem with the gate that Buzz installed was incorrect installation according to Aberdeen. They also had the wiring on the board to the solar panel hooked up wrong which is what caused the short in the first repair. I wouldn't use these people for a gate as they clearly do not know what they are doing and will blame it on the consumer as they did me costing me over $1k and would have been more had I not found a competent company that knows how to install an automatic gate correctly. read more

"Beware" This was my first time to use this company and I will never use them again! After finally receiving a revised estimate back on 11/24/2021, my install date was scheduled for the week of 12/26/21. On 12/22/21 I received an email from Denise B stating that my job had been pushed out to the third week in January. The reason for the delay was due to fabrication of some Wrought Iron. I called Denise back and explained that material wasn't urgently needed, but that I needed my 9' perimeter cyclone security fence installed on 12/26. She stated "no problem they had the material for the cyclone fence" I was then re-scheduled to the week of 1/3/22 for no reason. On Friday 1/7 the installer showed up at noon and after talking with the sales agent realized he didn't have all the material for the job. He said he would return back in 30 min., two hours later no Jose'. I cancelled the job at 3:00 pm and Jose' shows up begging me not to cancel. I agree and he's works the remaining day. As of noon today, I still do not have a complete fence up protecting my property. I've been in the construction business off & on for 30 years and this is one of the most UN-professional companies I've ever seen! I believe this story line explains my 1 star review.
