    The owner refuses to call me to discuss anything. I have been trying to get him to call me since May 29th and he refuses. Bottom line up front: Buzz Fence took 9 months to complete a 3-day job. They fail to read the instructions on the parts and then do a poor installation. Instead of doing the job correctly they double down and keep doing it incorrectly. Buzz did many things incorrectly on this project, but I am just going to walk through the process of installing a handle on a side gate door. Go to Google and you can see another review I did of the company earlier in the year. On March 24th the crew initially tried to install the handle. They ran into trouble when they discovered that the handle would not fit properly on the door. They decided they needed longer screws as the screw that came in the package was not long enough. They said they would complete it the next day after getting longer screws. The next day they came out and did one side and the other side of the gate they just left the handle off (See picture 1). Buzz was unaware the handle was left off until I called and told them. A crew came out without notifying me and to make the handle fit they cut the wood to make the width of the door smaller. (See picture 2). You can see the poor cuts that they made. This also had the effect of making it where you can't put your hand into the handle to open the door without scraping up your knuckles. The handle was not designed to be installed like that. This was March 31st I notified Buzz about this, and they sent a guy to replace it all. On April 28th this guy also ran into the problem that the screws were not long enough, so he put a piece of tape over it and spent 3 weeks trying to find a correct screw size to get it to fit. (See Picture 3). On May 19th he finally found a screw and jammed it in. (See Picture 4.) You can easily tell this is not the correct screw size as it does not fit the hole. I told him this was not correct and pretty sure this is all going to fail within a year. Sure enough the lock failed and I called out Buzz to fix it. On Sept 10 they finally came out and the same guy from before took apart the lock and reassembled it. It "worked" but just by using the handle you could tell it was not right. I told him that it would probably fail again so don't be surprised when I have to call you all out again. I was out of town for three weeks but when I got back, I tried the handle, and it had failed. I called Buzz on Sep 26 and spoke to a woman, and she was going to be the new point of contact and would order a new handle. I waited patiently for 3 weeks and never heard anything. I called Buzz and found out that woman had been fired (as had the guy that tried to install the lock the previous time). Buzz did not know the woman was supposed to have ordered a new lock and knew nothing about it. I wondered why Buzz was struggling so hard to do something so simple. I looked up the part myself. When I went to the website and read the instructions it stated if the door is wider than 2 inches you must buy the extension kit. The door on my gate is 2.5 inches. I called Buzz and told them this and verified they had bought the extension kit. Buzz knew nothing about that and had to order the extension kit. So, I waited longer. On Nov 10th Buzz came out to install the new lock with extension kit. A different guy was installing it this time and as he was installing the handle I noticed it was black and the other one was silver. I pointed out it is the wrong color. (See picture 5). So, Buzz needed to order the correct color. On Nov 24th Buzz came out to install the correct part. During the installation I point out that the spindle needs to be between 3/8 and 5/8 of an inch otherwise the lock will bind or not engage (per the instructions). He did not know this but took the time to trust me and verify. We measured the spindle, and it was an inch, so he cut the spindle down to correct length. The guy gets halfway through the installation and then realizes he left the extension kit at his house, so the part was not installed yet. On Nov 25th Buzz comes out again to install the part. This time he has the part, the extension kit, and the part finally gets installed. (See picture 6). All the above was because Buzz never read the instructions or measured the door. Instead of ordering the extension kit everything from above was done. So much of my time was wasted as I had to be there solve their problems. Sadly, this wasn't just the case for the handle. I had to read the instructions for the operators and tell them that they wired them incorrectly. Instead of replastering a post that they damaged they tried to just paint it over when the post was damaged down to the fibers. There is a post that is unlevel and causes the gate to not latch properly. Instead of measuring it first they jammed a few washers underneath that move. (see Picture 7).

    I have upped my star by 1 as a result of communication that occurred after I put this review up. See my comments at the bottom where I share the follow up.... This is my second time to use Buzz. The first time was to get a gate installed. Overall happy with that job, with the exception of the spring being faulty. They eventually fixed that. When a long part of our fence needed replacing, decided to go with them a second time. The communication was initially appropriate. Once the 1/2 of the money was paid, the waiting game started. They did ok on communicating what was taking so long. They explained about weather, ordering the fence supplies, etc. Keep in mind, this all happened recently during the COVID lockdown so I don't fault any thing related to supplies and a hard to pin down date for installing it. They showed up on a day I was out of town. It was unavoidable. They had told me they would put it in whether I was there or not. I agreed, although I wished I could have been there. It was my mom's 80th birthday in San Angelo, not going to miss that :) When I got home, the problem began. They moved the fence over about 3 inches into the neighbor's yard from the original fence line (see pics). And one post was left in the cement in the ground. What it appeared to me, was that they moved the fence over because they avoided the post they left in the ground. Confused over this, some communication went back and forth via their representative. Short version is that he was quick to say they left that post there as it was not part of the original fence line. ?? huh ?? I only had one fence between me and my neighbor's yard. I am the original homeowner and have been here since 2003 when this house was built. First and only time to do anything to that entire section of fence. Rather confusing to me. They agreed to cut the post off level with the ground. This doesn't address the moving of a fence line about 3 inches into the neighbor's yard, and that there remains a large cemented area where the post was at. All communication quickly ceased. I explained I felt this was inappropriate in written communication (after several phone calls). The rep did not return any further communication and silence has been the order of the day since. Without being a total jerk and being a rude angry customer, not sure what else to do at this point. The fence is in and the damage has been done, they are now withdrawn from communication. I have been professional and courteous. I am at a complete loss as to how and why they would a) chose to leave one fence post in, b) move the fence over about 3 inches to avoid the remaining fence post, and c) claim it was because it was not part of the original fence. We had planned to run a bed of milk weed down that side of the fence for Monarch Butterfly life cycle encouragement, something we will still do. Just going to have one blank section due to a massive cement block in the ground. I'm too old to dig it out myself, especially after having a bone marrow transplant. I would have given a one star, except the actual fence is built really well. I do not recommend them as they hustled to get my business, and have gone completely silent after the fact when some kind of serious error occurred. The rep also fabricated a reason why the fence post was left in the ground (not part of the original fence), I just can not respect such a style of business. Completely unacceptable for such an expensive venture and I am very disappointed in them. EDIT: adding this one day later. Tracy Miller at the company called me this morning. She was concerned about my displeasure with the experience. I shared my thoughts and opinions, and how I felt. She shared it is an industry standard to not remove the cement from the ground when a new fence is put in, hence their not doing so. I suppose if this is the standard, then so be it. She offered to have the one cement base of the post mentioned above removed, no questions asked. I declined seeing as, if this is an industry standard, I would have not made a different choice on the day of installation. I learned a little more about the fencing industry. She offered to tear this fence down and build a new one, no questions asked. The goal would be to place it over the previous fence line. She called my neighbor, then called me back. He declined, feeling that would be excessive at this point. I agreed to his decision. I did share that my concerns after the fact could have been avoided with proper communication, she agreed. I will go on record saying that the communication with Tracey was professional and I feel Buzz Fence cared about the product and was willing to do whatever was necessary. Recommended.

    I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about our experience with Buzz Fencing! The entire staff was phenomenal from start to finish. They started our project about 3 weeks after finalizing of the project and then since we had a smaller project (just a gate & one side of a fence) it took the guys 7 hours. Fransisco and Jorge I believe were their names! Super kind and did a great job cleaning up afterwards since they had to tear down a very old fence with lots or nails. Darren Bailey was our sales associate and she was THE BEST! She treated us like family and went above and beyond for us. Traci was the absolute best as well - she made sure we were taken care of and worked with our budget to make sure our dogs and property were safe! I will never recommend another company for all gate and fence needs. They were the absolute best to work with and give high class service!!! 15/10 A+++

    Gate security on the wrong side

    Only because I can't give no stars. Customer service is the worst on the planet. They screwed up my fence from the start and have been putting me off ever since. I've been waiting since Sept 2022 for them to fix the horrible job they did. Keep sending people to my home to "look at it" with promises to "make it right". So far, nothing. I have been broken into 3 times while properly locked.

    Best fence we've ever had! We built our house 22 years ago, and this fence is one of our best upgrades to our home so far. Kerry Dugan was a helpful salesman and we appreciated his professional and courteous attitude. I recommend this company MOST highly. We are in Burleson.

    Proof of attempted communication

    I can't speak to what your records "say", but I've asked for someone to come to the house to see the install is not complete. They have refused to send anyone out to look. I have all fencing and current physical proof the fencing is not complete... The fence is not up. That's the physical proof. Contract shows 301' of linear fencing and I do not have 301' feet installed. I would love for someone to come out and look, but this business would rather say "records show complete" than offer good customer service and send someone out. The nice thing about technology and photography these days is, we have a lot of it with time stamps. I have Google earth images, street view images and personal images with metadata showing that since the first part of the install until present day, Buzz has not honored our contract. I've been doing other projects and have kept many of these images for yard work reference so luckily I have that physical proof for when I file breach of contract. All images show no fencing other than the initial part of the install. All of my evidence easily matches and is consistent. Also, fully charging me for the job a SECOND time is not acceptable. I did the math... what you offered was not discounted at all. I feel confident, this will all get worked out in the end, but until then, I feel others should be made aware.

    My whole project was so easy using Buzz Custom Fencing. Jeff was amazing and had great communication with me. He answered all my questions or had someone contact me that could. I knew each step as we went from the initial estimate to the final installation. I will definitely call them again if I ever need anymore work.

    Extremely pleased with Buzz Custom Fence. We needed to replace a very old fence surrounding our pool. We contacted several companies in the area and looked at estimates. Buzz Fence came in and did great work that included the following: 1. Tear out and haul out of 122 feet of existing side and back fence 2. Install 122 feet of new 7 ft tall beautiful cedar fence, board on board 3. Two 4 ft. wide walk gates with latches; galvanized steel posts buried deep with concrete 4. Fence was stained a beautiful shade of medium brownish/red They worked well with our city inspection team. They also worked well with our neighbors (back and side) who had outdoor dogs. Once done, the fence elevated the aesthetics all around us. We, including our neighbors, simply love the final product! We recommend Buzz Custom Fence!
