It is part vegan kitchen, part natural grocery store, and completely full of heart. From the outside you might not expect much, but the second you walk in you can feel the energy. The main guy in the kichen - my man Carlos!! - has so much charisma. Before I even had time to fully look at the menu, he handed me a small sample of their soup of the day. It was warm, flavorful, and honestly so delicious that I was instantly sold! I am not even vegan, but the food completely won me over. Everything tasted fresh, nourishing, and thoughtfully made. I ordered more than I planned to, and I have to admit something funny. I do not have a single picture of what I ate or drank because I literally gulped it down so fast. It was that good. The only photo I managed to take was of the enchiladas, the menu, and of course; Carlos! Everything else disappeared before I even thought about my phone. They also made me a freshly squeezed orange juice, and I watched them use actual oranges right there. No fake juice, no concentrate, just real oranges being squeezed. It tasted fresh and clean. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable. It feels good to eat something that is both healthy and affordable. The store side is just as charming, with shelves full of natural supplements, spices, snacks, drinks, and little treasures you did not know you needed. Everyone there was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely happy to have customers walk through the door. It ended up being such a fun and unexpected experience for me. I walked in out of curiosity and left with a full stomach and a big smile. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or none of the above, I truly recommend stopping by and supporting this spot. Places like this deserve all the love!!

A long time ago I had heard about this farmer's market but I was never able to check it out. Then I…read morehad to visit Miami Children's Hospital on a Wednesday and walked into this market by accident. It's impossible to miss it. They set up right at the entrance of the hospital, and you have to walk by them to enter the premises. The first time I saw them, they seemed to be only a few vendors. I picked up a couple of baked good, spoke to some guy making popcorn, looked around quickly because I didn't really give them much credit. I thought they were just a "farmer's market" (with quotation marks) at the entrance of a hospital. How clever!, I thought. Then, I got home, opened my box of baked goods, took a bite and dropped on my knees after doing an Elvis Presley style leg shuffle. I couldn't believe how good the stuff was. I had picked up an "apple filled brioche" covered in almonds, and a pack of brownies. The stuff was really, really good. After finishing the snacks, I started obsessing about when to go next. I was luckily required to go again, on a Wednesday again, because that's how the Good Lord works (in mysterious ways), and I was able to satisfy my curiosity. I got there and immediately went to the baking lady, she comes from Ft. Lauderdale, and this time I got some brownies, croissants, and an apple tart. Satisfied, I then proceeded to walk around, with a tight grip on my shopping bag. Who was there? Well, an empanada lady who specifies her empanadas are Argentinian style empanadas, a ceviche lady who serves a lot of other dishes and juices, a quinoa guy who serves quinoa stews and sells quinoa, a Jamaican guy serving roti burritos and other Jamaican stuff, a popcorn man selling stuff that tastes like Fruit Loops cereal, two stands serving gyro meat and meals and Greek salad, and people selling sweets, candies, smoothies, nuts, soaps, oils, etc. Surprisingly enough, there was only one person selling vegetables. His produce is the usual array of vegetables, something you would normally find at a supermarket. He does have some oversized oranges that look delicious. But truly, the king/queen of the farmer's market are the people with the baked goods. I mean, who gives you a side of chocolate ganache to put on your brownies? I think that this farmer's market is organized as a way to thank, or reward, the staff from the hospital. It is nice to go to a farmer's market for lunch. Of course, patients benefit implicitly, as well as neighbors, office workers, and gluttons like myself. That's my go to breakfast spot on Wednesdays, and I love it. The Miami Children's Hospital Farmer's Market is only open on Wednesdays, from 9 am to 4 pm. Parking is free at the hospital's parking lot. Send me a note if you think those baking goods are on point. Enjoy!

I arrived a little earlier than my scheduled pickup time, but the line was already wrapped around the building. The system for managing customers was very inefficient; there was only one employee directing people, and many customers weren't following instructions. There was no organized flow, and people were left standing in the sun or under a crowded tent. Although they handed out small water bottles, the wait was still more than two hours. When I finally made it inside, I was handed the wrong order; slices of turkey instead of the whole roasted turkey I had reserved. After clarifying the mistake, I was told that the specific turkey flavor I had pre-ordered and paid for was no longer available, so I had to choose a different one. This was extremely disappointing after such a long wait. Inside, orders were only being processed from one side of the room, so the other side( where I was standing, was barely moving. Someone complained and they started to call from both sides. The entire process felt disorganized and frustrating. I truly love Honey Baked Ham, but this experience was not customer-friendly. I hope the pickup system is improved for future holidays. The waiting line was crowded, hot, and extremely long. The inside of the store was also a mess (understandable during the holiday season on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving). However the line and wait was unacceptable.

I came back a year later for a pound of that same chicken salad. When I arrived, Gonzalo, the manager, mentioned they were sold out but kindly offered to prepare some for me on the spot. I'm very pleased with their customer service. The other two staff members were also very friendly and welcoming. P.S: they reward new customers with $9 when signing up for their loyalty program.
