They have raw goat's milk and home-made cheese, bananas, mangoes, longans, and other fruits. All available in just small quantities from their farm. The fruits are harvested that very morning and the milk milked the evening before. Fred was selling some guarapo (sugar cane juice). When I ordered one, he asked me if I prefer purple cane or yellow cane. I've drank guarapo all my life and I've never gotten asked this question!! I ended up with the purple cane, on his recommendation, and he squeezed a little key lime juice in it. I have to say, it's refreshing, only mildly sweet, and the best ever guarapo I've ever had!! As I sipped my juice, he explained to us how sugar cane juice is very different from what you may imagine it be to: water with sweet cane sugar. The juice is actually alkalinizing, and contains several essential nutrients, such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium and phosphorous. Moreover, the canes he used were just cutted that morning on his farm so it's way fresher than what you may get at, say, a Cuban cafe. And of course unlike the processed cane sugar, which is devoid of any nutrient. As many who shop farmers market may notice, there are stalls selling real local products, and stalls selling cheap produce shipped in from elsewhere. If your aim is to support local family farms, Farmer Fred is the stall to go to. Friendly people, quality product, reasonable price. (mangoes $2 a lb, longan $3.) Sadly or not, while he has a webpage, https://www.facebook.com/cubanredfred, he doesn't put up much info about where you'll find him next. Convenience-This is a great place for students to grab a quick lunch, snack, or even groceries on Wednesday. For those who live on campus, the fruits and veggies are easy to carry back to the dorms since the location is so close and the food comes to them rather than having to seek it out. 2. There are unique booths. From vegan meals, to herbs, a couple different bread stands, fruits and veggies, various drinks, popcorn, and Cuban cuisine, there really is something for everyone. Cons 1. Some of the fruits and veggies are not that good. I went to the booth with organically grown fruits and veggies that are actually grown locally. While I was impressed with the selection, the actual quality and taste was where it faltered. I paid six dollars for my favorite tropical fruit, the cherimoya. When I opened the one she had picked, it was pink, mealy, and inedible. I was also not impressed with the taste of their tomatoes either. I spent a total of ten dollars here and did not like EVEN ONE ITEM because they all seemed spoiled and not too tasty. 2. The market is also small. It is one small row in front of the library so don't be expecting rows and row of booths. There is variety in the actual booths, but there is only one or two of each style of cuisine. In just one week it seems like they have doubled the vendors and I could see this expanding even more as long as popularity keeps up! Most tents have lunch items like fish wraps, veggie tostadas, and crepes that make it a quick and easy mid-day pit stop when your stomach is grumbling. They open at 9 and stick around until 2 but due to their central location on campus and decent prices some places start to run out quickly. I can't wait to try more things. I just wish it was open more than one day of the week!

He said that was fine and the order would be ready for pickup by then. Order: 1 gallon milk, 1/2 gallon goat milk, 1 pint Greek yogurt, 1 lb raw milk butter, 1 pint cottage cheese, and 1 carton of eggs. Friday, 10/4/24 - 11:41 am Texted my order but received no confirmation. Followed up at 11:41 am to ensure Lorenzo received the text. Friday, 10/4/24 - 3:12 pm Called Lorenzo to confirm the order since I still hadn't heard back. He said goat milk wasn't available and they had no glass bottles, but everything else was fine for pickup. He seemed annoyed again, but I confirmed I would pick up after my appointment. Friday, 10/4/24 - 3:15 pm Texted again to confirm our conversation and thank him. Saturday, 10/5/24 - 2:42 pm Called to notify Lorenzo I was on my way. He then informed me they were out of cottage cheese, despite confirming they had it the day before. I was annoyed, but still made the trip. I had mentioned paying with cash, but he claimed he had no change, so I Zelled him the payment instead. Saturday, 10/5/24 - 4:06 pm Texted Lorenzo, confirming I had sent the payment and was still waiting 25 minutes later. He replied that bottling the milk was taking longer than expected. Saturday, 10/5/24 - 4:23 pm Lorenzo finally arrived with my order, but only brought the milk and eggs. My 6-item order had been reduced to just 2. Lorenzo mentioned he would refund me the difference for the missing items, but despite earlier claiming he had no change, he pulled a wad of cash out of his pocket. Product Review: Milk: The milk was fantastic, easily the best I've had in a while. Eggs: Mediocre, pale yellow in color compared to the vibrant orange eggs I usually get from Miranda Farms (see attached photo comparison). The Redlands egg is on the left, and the Miranda Farms egg is on the right - the difference in quality and flavor is clear. Conclusion: Despite the great milk, this was an overall frustrating experience. Constant communication issues, missing items, and Lorenzo's dismissive attitude left a bad impression. Running a small business is tough, and I wanted to support them, but this interaction left me hesitant to return.
