We took our MacBook into Apple after soaking it in water and killing it dead. Apple quoted $1600 for the repair and told us simply to replace it. We found Buy N Cell in Mississauga and called them up ... Al Dhanji, the owner, told us to bring it in for an assessment. The final cost of the repair quoted was a mere fraction of what Apple would have charged us and the repair is covered with a warranty. The level of communications prior to and during the repair was outstanding ... Al communicated on several occasions by phone and email. As business owners ourselves, it was very refreshing to connect with Al and his staff in their Mississauga location. We have another MacBook Pro we are dropping off for repairs and would consider going nowhere else. They reassured me that they only use apple products and the only case they will use China is if its for a Chinese product. When I went to pick my phone up, I brought along with me my friends iPhone8 to compare the screens. I asked him one more time if it's apple, he said yes. He lied right to my face, the screens were two different colours, the finger recognition didn't work and it was not smooth when scrolling left to right, it was also a different texture. He waisted 3 hours of my time and I got him to switch it back. My cracked screen works better. So don't go here, it's a dishonest company. $150.00. Ps. They Sell Stolen Phones. Bought what was presented as a new unlocked phone. When I traveled with it, I realized that the phone was black listed and blocked. Turned out it was stolen from T-Mobile, south of the border. When I contacted the seller, they accused me of not paying my bill and getting it blocked myself. Nice try but I have an official letter from T-Mobile confirming that the phone was blocked one month before they sold it to me. Stay away from these scam artists. I have reported them to the BBB of Canada and will be reporting them to the police. read more

I cracked my iPhone 6 and took it here because they had a one-hour turnaround promised and told me they use "authentic Apple products", but when I got my screen replaced it was $130 in total and it felt like a cheaper substitute - two weeks later the phone cracked again because it was in my pocket. I went back and they agreed to fix it again for $130 because this was "accidental damage". Fair, so I got it fixed again and had parts of the screen break off over the next month. I decided to get it replaced from the Apple Store and it's been perfect since! Apple did it in less than an hour and it costs $140+tax. UPDATE: I was contacted by a representative of Buy N Cell shortly after this post with an apology. I brought my water damaged iPhone 6 here for a diagnosis and repair. There were multiple issues with the phone that I won't bother going into detail about, but by the time I left the store, I was more than happy as all my data was recovered and switched over to my new iPhone 6 Plus that I purchased for a great deal. The technician Gena did an excellent job in a very short amount of time. The manager, Bara, was outstanding. He is truly the epitome of customer service. He went above and beyond to resolve my issue and to ensure I left happy. And the best part is, he is the same way with all of his customers. He never loses his cool, stays professional and pleasant with everyone, he's knowledgable, and he's somehow able to ensure everyone is attended to when the store is overflowing with customers. Also, his soothing voice has some sort of magical calming effect on people... I was very satisfied with the outcome of my visit to Buy N Cell, and I think that the owner is very lucky to have people like Bara and Gena working for her. I bought an iPhone 6 from Buy N Cell Mississauga location for my son. Within a few weeks, the screen cracked. The repaired it, then a few weeks later it cracked again. Once more we paid for the repair, despite the fact it was always in a case. We later discovered they use cheap aftermarket knockoff parts and the battery was always swelling causing the screen to be pressured and cracked. Caution, they lied to me saying they use only genuine Apple parts. When I got my iPhone 7 Plus battery replaced. I later took the phone into the Apple store after I lost trust for BuyNCell, and discovered Apple would not service the phone because it had an aftermarket battery! Very dishonest and crooked... ensure you understand they will always put in the cheapest knockoff parts for all repairs, and will lie about it. read more

I've listened to them tell different customers different prices and have heard them lie about what they had in stock in order to charge shipping. All of this is while I waited 20 minutes for them to find my phone which they had lost. This was also my third visit because they failed, yet charged me for the repair of my phone not once but twice. Does NOT honour Warranty Does NOT complete repairs. I had brought my iPhone 4S in to have its dock-connector replaced for $49. The first time I went to use the phone the microphone had been disconnected during the repair process, when I went to get the issue addressed within the advertised 90 day warranty period, I got A LOT of push back and resistance, the cashier went on about unrelated issues such as the telling me that the volume buttons weren't working (which they were) and that the camera wasn't working (which it was). At the time of the warranty repair the phone had only been sitting in a drawer and all of a sudden had 'water damage' which they use as their excuse to get out of warranty coverage, as reported in other reviews. Eventually the microphone was repaired, but during that repair the dock connector was disconnected again. In addition the home button would not 'click', suggesting that the whole thing had been incorrectly re-assembled. When I went back to address this issue they became very angry and defensive, eventually the amateur technician that does the work came out and screamed at me about water damage. At that point I left. This relatively simple repair was never done properly, the warranty was not honoured and money was not refunded. They just don't have a clue on either customer service or technical expertise. Take your devices somewhere else, anywhere else! I have subsequent had the phone repaired elsewhere and it has been working just fine, now that the work has been done properly. In addition the store is littered with obviously counterfeit products, which I have reported to both the RCMP at ip-pi@rcmp-grc.gc.ca Crime Stoppers as well as Apple and would encourage anyone else to do the same. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I paid $400 to get the motherboard fixed on my 27" 2013 iMac. I got it back with the screen mis-aligned and sticking out on one side. I had to send it back twice to get it properly fixed. After inconveniencing me for 10 days, it was finally working for 2 weeks just for me to get home one day to notice the screen had fallen off and shattered. When i took it back to them, they said "it's your fault, you did it yourself". Completely idiotic response and the manager did not even want to talk to me over the phone but rather wanted her employee to call the police on me! Well done Alice Wood! Do not buy 85watt MagSafe 2 adapters from any BuyNCell stores. They very obviously purchase fakes in bulk and resell to the unwitting public looking to save a buck. Fakes overheat and can cause fires or as was the case for me, break the Mac's internal charging mechanism. I now have to use Apple Care for repairs and hope for then best. They sell low quality wires and plugs with their devices. If you buy an iPad they swap the OEM (Apple) accessories with very cheap ones. Some of the accessories have fluctuating power levels that could damage your device. When take into account some accessories cost $50 dollars there price is not cheap. They misadvertise on their website selling iPhone accessory package for $35 saying it is OEM or genuine but it is fake when you call them out on it they say it is just as good. I would recommend just going to the big box store for accessories and big items like iPads. read more

While I can not say that I am thrilled, I can say that I am leaving satisfied, and I do retract my comments regarding BnC. While the unit was locked, and should not have been - I now believe that it was an honest error and not a systemic issue. I would feel comfortable going back again. I have bought two phones from this location. Unfortunately, I damaged my first phone but got a new one from this location. It was used and has some issues. Every time I went to get it fixed or assessed, I am always greeted politely and with the utmost professionalism. Bara is has amazing customer service skills. He always tries to repair the problem quickly as possible and/or provide you with other options. His calm and polite customer service skills are very rare and unique. He does this company a great service working there. The cell phone/computer technician is similar in his professionalism and polite manner. He works very hard at fixing the problem. Terrible people. Liars. They sold me a water damaged iPhone 7 and then I found out it had technical problems when I went home that night and found out the mic wasn't working. I took it back to them and they said they needed a day to fix it and should be no problem since I was covered under their 3 month warranty. Then they called me in saying its fixed, and i go to get the phone only to find its still got the same problem. I show them and they ask for another day. I come back again and the problem is still there. I speak to the manager and she tells me that i can either get it fixed by voiding the warranty or paying another $85. I chose to void the warranty since its a used phone and i dont want to pay and more for this phone. They now open it up and tell me its water damaged. Mind you, IM NOT AN IDIOT TO DIP A PHONE I JUST BOUGHT IN WATER THE SAME DAY I BOUGHT IT. I tell them i didn't put it remotely even near any water. I found later that day the sensitivity of screen was a bit off so I went the next day to Mississauga location (closer) and they made the quick fix at no extra cost. Did a piss poor job on my wife's iPad mini, sloppy, incomplete, did not include all parts, worked till she got it home and then failed. Wife gave up and bought new iPad. It sat on shelf till now. I opened it 9 mths later, only to find screen not properly secured, old adhesive not cleaned out and full of glass chips, no insulation tape reapplied digitizer cable kinked and deformed from improper installation. Digitizer ruined. Addressed this with Arkin, he said bring it in so I did 1/2 HR drive each way only to find he was not there, had to leave it so he could look it over, called and accused me of damaging the motherboard breaking off a pin ( I never removed the cover from the motherboard). He also said he did not take it apart. (Hard to figure how he could see a broken pin without opening it-lied) said it was unfixable. Told me to get lost. I took it to another shop, they had it fixed with a new digitizer while I waited in 15 minutes, charged me cost for digitizer only. Summary I really hate businesses that take advantage of women. This guy is the lowest of the low. One star is three stars too much. read more

Soaked my macbook pro keyboard in orange juice and decided to take it apart and clean it myself. The macbook itself was mint the logic board or any other internals were not damaged. I cleaned the keyboard but damaged the spacebar so it was rendered useless. I took my macbook pro into this location to the have the keyboard replaced. The cashier was very kind, but the tech was acting as though he was a god. After He scoffed when I said I'd wait the 2 hours for it to be completed he did the job. When I got home I noticed the keyboard was that of a 2009 model (mine is a 2011). Also The keyboard was not new, it was clearly a used OEM part. I noticed the case wasn't closed correctly in the corner so when I went to open it i fix it I realized all of the screws on the outer case were in the incorrect spots(different screws for different holes/threads). Once I opened it i saw that the reason the case wasn't closing is because the tech never screwed in the motherboard (he left screws in the holes but did not tighten them). Not only that but also all of the 11 screws holding the mother board were not put back in the correct spot (Wrong screw in wrong hole again) some were even mixed up with the fan screws!!! Next which is what blew my mind was that he did not connect the battery indicator cable and had actually had it bent up and pressed down under the logic board when it was tightened (could have torn it). Then after I reconnected that my backlight on the keyboard wasn't working and that was because he never pressed down the flaps which hold both the keyboard and backlight cable strips in place (Ridiculous since that is what I brought it in to have it fixed for). In short....If you get a job done by them, make sure you look it over afterwards or have someone who's tech savvy do it so you don't have your logic board sliding around and your keyboard not even properly connected. Sure the cost was less than apple, but so was the service...by a mile.
