This past week, my iud had been somewhat dislodged and I was experiencing contractions so I had to see someone to get this figured out. I was going to try going to a nearby medical clinic, as it was Saturday, but realized most doctors at clinics wouldn't want to investigate my situation as I'm on my period, and most probably wouldn't even have the experience or know-how to be able to help me at all. So I made an appointment with Dr. Kennett, who I know and trust and who has experience with this sort of thing and she was amazing at making me feel better and in the end, by removing my iud. I would highly recommend her for this type or any other type of visit. She is efficient, knowledgeable, experienced and wonderful to have as your dr.

I have visited Jolene on multiple occasions over the past few years, for a variety of issues…read morespanning anxiety, skin issues, nutrition, women's health (I will never go to anyone else for a pap smear as long as she is doing them!) and more. I keep coming back as a loyal patient because Jolene's approach is the ultimate balance of professionalism, compassion and an enthusiasm for her work, as well as deep knowledge. She is a walking encyclopedia, and she conveys her wisdom and intellect through the lens of someone who really, truly cares and exhibits great passion for what she does. She has changed the way I see my health, and I will continue to see her because I enjoy her insight and her energy so much. I have learned a great deal from this amazing woman. She is unabashedly honest but always respectful, humble, and non-judgemental. For breast exams and pap smears, no one comes close. I have major body image issues and Jolene is always efficient and professional while at the same time going out of her way to put her patients at ease. I cannot recommend her enough- my perspective on life and my body, and my health in general has changed drastically for the better since I met her. Jolene is a rare gem- a doctor who stands in a realm all her own.

Firstly, i need to express that I entered this office with zero expectations. I knew nothing about…read morenaturopathic "medicine" but approached it with a truly open mind. After a brief description of the symptoms I've been experiencing, i was "treated" by Dr. Gurinder Dayal. A well dressed man with a pleasant demeanor. When the initial exam was done and we began "treatment", I immediately realized what I was experiencing was total nonsense. He had me hold my arm completely straight out to my side and asked me to resist his attempt to push it down. Anyone with a shoulder knows this is it's weakest position, hence why we don't carry or pick anything up in this position. He proceeded to very gently push my arm downward in a way I could easily resist while he lightly checked numerous "pressure points" with his free hand. Apparently he found a weakness at one point because he was able to shove my arm down to my waist. This was done using 10 times the force he had applied previously. It was blatantly obvious. He then proceeded to tell me he was going to fix that weakness asking me to lay down. He places his fingers on my sternum (which must be connected to my shoulder somehow) and abruptly dragged them down to my belly button twice, saying "yup, I got it." After sitting me up and retesting my shoulders strength by applying the same weak pressure he had initially, he proudly proclaimed he had fixed the problem. At that point I was absolutely stunned by what I was witnessing. Unfortunately the real shocker would be how much this 15 min visit would end up costing me. He ended our session by selling me a bottle of overpriced liquid calcium magnesium that can be purchased over the counter at any drug store and suggested I come back for a follow up within the next month. My visit cost $225! The symptoms I was having investigated were diarrhea, weight loss and headaches. If anyone reading this believes they can justify what a naturopathic doctor does please message me ASAP. I have something to sell you that will completely change your life! I keep it stored in a hot pile behind the barn. There's a very good reason why there is no wait to see these people. It's the very same reason medical insurance wants nothing to do with them. This industry survives on naivety and I regretfully admit I've contributed.

They use non traditional methods, using energy testing a lot. I've come for stress related symptoms, gastrointestinal issues and just issues with energy levels. About half the time I don't need any suppliments, sometimes it's a diet change or like addition of turmeric or cinnamon, or a cleanse. I've always had great results and will continue to come here with my family. I've recommended several people to this clinic who also continue to come back to this naturopath.

Then just got better when i met with Dr Jenni. She was caring and knowledgeable and took a great deal of time to learn my health history & current situation. The admin ladies are also fantastic and set a great tone for the office. It feels refreshing just entering the space. I had an opportunity for a consultation with Dr Prescot & she is outstanding as well. My back was killing me and I had to have an acupuncture treatment - that's the only way to treat my back pain. Massages just make the pain worse. Well, the acupuncture treatment I had was AWESOME. I mean, acupuncture is pretty scary with all the needles, but it totally works. My back pain was gone by the end of the session. The therapist's approach is so different from the ones I've experienced in Asia. Whatever he's doing, he's on the right path and I'm so happy sitting at my desk now, no aches, typing away... Maybe this has restored my faith in groupon. Who knows.

I have also been seeing Jen Cherewaty for acupuncture and TCM for a few years now. I was referred to Jen by Dr. Brown during my first pregnancy. Jen's treatments are always so relaxing and are appointments I actually get excited about. I had such an amazingly easy pregnancy and I attribute most of that to Jen's treatments. I am seeing her during my second pregnancy and so far have had similar wonderful results. I tell all of my friends to go see her. I have had acupuncture from others before and wasn't too thrilled with the results. I didn't really notice much of anything changing after the treatments. Not so with Jen. I can almost always feel a difference quickly. She really knows what she's doing. Even if you've had acupuncture before and didn't think much of it, give her a try!
