My parents hired Edibles for family style wedding catering. I have to start off by saying the food…read morewas very good, they were on time, and had all table settings set up the day before. However, working with Susan (the owner) in my opinion is not worth it. After paying our final bill, the week of the wedding, she called my mother asking for over a thousand dollars more. She insisted that because it was family style she needed to buy new warmers. To be clear we were told family style was something she typically offered and had already paid an extra charge for. She had also catered at this venue before so if this was truly a need then it should have already been added into the price. Then at the wedding multiple guests witnessed her (Susan) dumping bottles of alcohol straight onto the floor during the reception. The linens were not rented from her so she did not need the tables cleared to get her things and this was hours before the reception ended. We also had asked her about water and tea being left at the venue in dispensers after dinner was done. She said she would leave them for us so we did not have our bar tender bring extra nonalcoholic options. Unfortunately, not only did she not do this but her staff drank all of the bottled water we had purchased for the bridal party. When confronted her staff rudely argued with multiple people in the bridal party. We have gotten many comments from guests about how rude she was when complimented on the food.

I was also equally interested to find that the couple were the former owners of the Farrington House, a beloved historic restaurant in Terre Haute. They chose to close it in 1997 to focus on their catering business. It appears EC offers take out, as well as catering/party services with a variety of entrees and desserts. Having been to the Farrington House for a memorable occasion years ago, I can imagine that their foods are all equally delicious. When I picked up my torte, I noticed there were multiple other orders ready for distribution on a table near the door. It appeared to be a very popular place for Mother's Day. My mom (and family) were delighted at the taste and presentation of my choice, as well. If I'm ever in need of catering services (or just another tasty dessert), I know where to go!

This guy, (Adam maybe?), is a durn genius! He helped us once with finding a very sharp and tangy cheese. Next time we told him we are doing an au gratin potatoe and he pulled up a greener cheese that just sent it thru the roof. I hope you are paying these people very well as they can make a huge impact upon the food your customers are serving! We now have a place that can supply the cuts of meat we want, the accompanying cheese we need, and we greatly appreciate all the wonderful service these people provide!

I'm writing this review mainly because I hope management sees it. Two things keep this from being a 5-star experience for me. First, sale pricing. I would estimate that around 80% of the time I buy something advertised as on sale, the discount doesn't ring up correctly. That makes it hard to shop with confidence. Second, I really, really, really wish the store had self-checkout lanes. Partly so customers can easily verify prices as they scan items, but mainly because I've noticed some food-handling habits at checkout that are concerning. For example, I once bought hot bar food (which you open and eat right away), and the cashier was eating crackers with both hands so fast you'd have thought those crackers owed her money while ringing up my ready to eat, while the bagger was picking at her lip gloss with her fingers. That's not what most people expect when handling ready-to-eat food. I've also seen cashiers lick their fingers before counting cash back. That is gross. For both of us. Having worked in banks, I could horrify you telling you in detail how disgustingly dirty is money. After the lip picking incident I haven't been buying as much hot bar and that's bad for me and bad for their business. Self-checkout would help avoid all those issues and make an already good store perfect. Its not the cheapest place in town but it could be the best. If pricing accuracy improves and self-checkouts are added, this would easily be a 5-star grocery store for me.

I went back a few times to try something different each time in hopes that I could find a favorite that would make me want to come back for more, but alas, it never happened. The mere thought of their salads made with shredded lettuce are enough to deter me from ordering a meal that might have a salad starter. (Terre Haute is the only place where I've seen a trend toward shredded lettuce salads- so someone important must like them and order them enough that a few restaurants serve their salads this way- I'm obviously not a fan.) I get the feeling that this is a place that locals appreciate more than visitors and I hope that someone else gives it a better review to help bring up its rating. For what it's worth, they have a diner atmosphere on one side of the restaurant with booths and a bar, and a more formal dining room on the other side that would be ideal for special events or business lunches downtown. They seem to do most of their business during the breakfast and lunch hours as they are only open for dinner a few nights a week, and they take a lot of pride in their homemade desserts.

We were promptly met and sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Our drink orders were taken and the ice water should have been the least of my meal, not the highlight. The tea, which another member of my group ordered, tasted weak and as if it had been sitting for hours. On a server's recommendation two of us ordered the fried pork cutlet sandwich. The third in our party had a Ruben sandwich with fries. The cutlet was tasteless and unseasoned. It is difficult to screw up a Ruben, save for the starving pickles on the plate, but still nothing remarkable. My side order ended up being a handful of broken potato chips, Ruffles I believe. We ordered a side of pretzels for the table, they happened to be about two snack bags worth of Rold Gold. I normally don't give poor reviews, but this place earned it. Our server was pleasant and on her game but the food was severely lacking. The menu indicated Saratoga being in business for over 42 years. I have to assume they were simply off their game today or they should not expect to ever make it to 50.

It's a pretty small space, a little cramped if there's too many people, but they have plenty of seating. You order your food at the register and they call your name when it's ready. They don't have waitresses which was fine with me. My sister and I took our food outside and ate. It was a beautiful day. We didn't see any planes land or take off but even if there was I would've been distracted by the food I was eating. Not sure who their cook is but it was like eating something homemade. 110% going to go back when the weather starts to warm up again.

A tiny spot located at the TH Regional Airport, if it not for my quest to weed places like this out, the average person would not know this was here. Off the beaten path for someone not using the actual airport. In addition to the small cafe serving sandwiches, soup, coffees and the like, the Corsair Cafe is packed full of plane paraphernalia, toys, books and gadgets. If you have a kid interested in planes or flying, you need to get over here to fill their Christmas list. Model airplanes, books, bags, t-shirts, games....lots of stuff all about flying. Nick nacks and trinket stuff too. I brought my parents out here for something different. The lunch was OK and reasonably priced. They featured a pull pork sandwich for $5 the day we were there that my dad said was not half bad (a city girl like me was taken back by the low price). We were the only ones in the cafe when we were there. There are Adirondack like, wooden chairs and picnic tables outside to maybe sit, have an ice tea and watch planes come in and out and move about (not sure how much action this airport gets on any given day, I am guessing not a lot). So nothing incredibly unique going on in the food realm hear other than a decent well priced uneventful menu, but a unique atmosphere that if you caught on the right day might be a nice spot to see some plane activity while enjoying a bowl of soup and a lemonade.
