Deborah was very enthusiastic and friendly at the outset, but as we got closer and closer to the wedding day, she backed out of a lot of ideas, would not respond to voicemails and phone calls, and left us to do all of the leg-work.
For instance, she offered to make a sangria for the wedding, but asked my mother to buy and pick up all of the ingredients, which she was then supposed to pick up before the wedding to prepare it ahead of time. However, she failed to follow through and pick up all the ingredients, and instead made a last-minute, very cheap and not very popular version. (And when we spoke to her about it before the wedding, she denied making any such agreements and claimed to have soaked all of the fruit for a week in advance in her own rum, etc, but in reality she cut up the fruit---which we bought---moments before and they were not soaked or flavored.)
We also agreed on (and accordingly signed a contract) specifying the number of people and hours she was supposed to work, but she showed up and left an hour late, and had other people do much of her set-up work. She also failed to bring any change, although we were having (and had agreed on) a cash bar.
Near the end of the night, some of the guests overheard her offering the remaining alcohol to some of the wait staff, when it had been purchased by my mother and was ours to keep.
She also created quite a scene before and near the end of the wedding when confronted about a number of these issues, arguing loudly and making untrue and unfair accusations.
We were so let down by the experience, especially because things had started off so well and ended so badly. She can be a very warm and friendly person, but she also has a---to be honest---nasty streak.
