We have had the pleasure of working with most, and they are all kind and attentive to the students, but also very good at correcting and redirecting negative behavior. They respect the kids and make them feel loved and safe. My kids adore their teachers and so do we. Also the teachers are really good at honoring your requests (e.g. put on hats during outside time, change outfits during the day, apply cream at diaper change, etc.) - The new owner runs a tight ship and she cares about her business, teachers and the families they serve. We have found her to be respectful, reasonable and fair (for example, when they had to close the center due to power outages during winter storms, they adjusted their spring calendar to instead offer us care for a few of their spring professional development days). She is also always looking to improve her center and actively seeks feedback from parents. - They have a structured and detailed curriculum and do fun and educational activities with the kids every day. - I think they have pretty good hand-washing policy in the classrooms because kids don't get sick as often as they used to. -The food they provide is not gourmet, but definitely much better than the food offered at many other chain schools. They offer fresh, fruit twice daily and the food they serve is a mix of fresh, frozen and canned ingredients. The amount of sugar, carbs and processed food they offer is not too much in my opinion. They make most of the meals on site and they look and smells good. - This is a new SafariKid location and the building is newly renovated. So, naturally the toys, carpets, walls, etc. areclean and fresh. - The app they use is good and they share fun and detailed information about the kid's day and activity and you get to see pictures/short videos of them. Also, teachers are usually pretty quick in responding to you on the app if you post questions or requests. - They take the kids outside twice a day most days, and they have a covered area for when it is raining. - injuries and incidents are reported in a timely manner and with necessary details. - They offer sibling discount. - They have parent-teacher conferences twice a year to hear about how your kid is doing in class, and they have family activities planned for holidays and other occasions (e.g. Mother's day, Christmas, Easter, etc.) where you can interact with teachers and see your kids classroom Minor cons/notes: - I think this center is relatively expensive, and they require you to pay 1 month worth of tuition upfront upon enrollment. They also have a few misc. other fees (supply fee, registration fee, etc.). - They are closed most holidays and several days for professional development, Christmas-new year break, etc. This makes sense given that they are technically a preschool, but it's an adjustment if you are used to a daycare that is open every day. - Sometimes teachers forget to enter all the diaper changes/potty in the app. So, you won't necessarily know exactly how many times your kid pooped, for example. Not a huge deal, but sometimes this information is helpful when you are dealing with constipation, etc. - The outdoor space they have is not super green (no trees or greenery, just wood chips and toys). Also, the toddler outdoor space doesn't have much shade in the afternoon during the summer time, so the kids had to play in the scorching heat. - I think their hours are from 8am-5:30pm, and they don't serve breakfast (only morning snack is at 10am), so not great for those occasional days when you need to get a head start on your day or need some extra time at the end of the day. Again, this is in line with them being a pre-school, but it is something to consider. - They have a policy that drop off/pick up happens at the door and a chaperone takes your kid to and from the class. We were worried that our kids would freak out and it would be difficult to convince them to leave us at the door. This has not been the case and I feel like drop offs are now much faster and easier than before. In fact, our boys are always happy to go to their class and sometimes they go in without saying bye to us! It may be a bigger issue for kids that are younger and/or are new to the care. Also, I feel like the main con of this policy is that is reduces the chances you have to casually talk to the teacher about your kid, and getting to know the teacher. It feels a bit like you are isolated from the kids/teachers and you don't get to see the classroom and the space they spend their days. You are technically allowed to walk in when your child is in their care, but the door is always locked and it is clear that they do not expect you to come in under normal circumstances.

The owners are there every day providing care as well, and it has a very close-knit feel. Kids get to play outside every day, make lots of crafts (even the babies!), and are showered with love, attention, and reinforcement of good manners. The teachers are great about giving you lots of details about your child's day. Mt. Carmel will do part-time care and they are flexible about adding the occasional extra day if they have the staff/child ratio available. They have a loyal group of families who attend and not much turnover, however I was lucky to get a 2-day a week spot for my infant on very short notice. They do so many great things with the kids and the families - it's really an amazing place!

They service newborns though after school care in Elementary. The manager has been there for a long time and she is amazing (Rocio) and the teachers all have been there for years and years and are all SO GOOD with the kids. Our two year old comes home saying please and thank you and knowing his numbers and letters so well. They are so good with kids and teach them way more than we ever expected even from very young ages. Honest review here from a parent - they are the best and been the best decision ever to have our kids here. I see notes that they don't have locking doors - but they do! They installed them and they are very safe and I have no concerns about the doors locking and safety of the kids inside. I also see notes about dirty - and I do not feel this is true. Yes the place is not brand new, but it is absolutely clean and they do a great job cleaning toys everyday here as well to keep kids from spreading germs. They have wonderful outdoor areas for kids to play on structures and run around, ride bikes, or shoot hoops.

Our twins joined TDLD in 2019: our 3-year long experience with TDLD has met and exceeded our expectations and we were saddened to have left the nurturing environment of TDLD due to my job location change. TDLD offers the best combination of support system needed for working parents: loving teachers, 6:00am to 6:00pm care, onsite kitchen and in-house chefs that prepare gourmet meals 4 times a day, round the year care with closures aligned with Federal Holidays, classroom cameras, daily and weekly feedback through Class Dojo, Go-Home meal service, bilingual English/Japanese medium of instruction and last but not the least the only 5-star QRIS rated child-directed curriculum in the area. If the above is not convincing enough, please allow me to share our story...our twins had GERD due to their premature birth and when we started at TDLD at 15months of age, they suffered from severe reflux and feeding issues. Director Danielle Barth and Teachers Lisa and Becky took this challenge head on and helped our twins outgrow their feeding inhibition with love, patience and perseverance. Our twins went from struggling with bottles to enjoying Chef Daniel's and Chef Nathan's gourmet cooking in no time. We also took advantage of the Go-Home meals to continue the experience at home and it is a boon for families with two working parents. Soon after we joined, the pandemic hit...thanks to TDLD and their dedication not only was there no lapse in care throughout the entire global health crisis but also, they kept the kids safe with no school closures due to outbreaks...Kudos to TDLD management for continuing to support their entire staff throughout the pandemic despite operating with reduced capacity. Loving, nurturing and stimulating environment provided by TDLD has made our twins independent, curious and sociable: we experienced the beauty of this when they were chosen to join Japanese immersion Montessori pre-school (ages 3 to 6) in our new location. Our twins were invited to interview at the Montessori school based on the personalized assessment (collection of work and ASQs) of twins as compiled by TDLD throughout their stay; we are extremely grateful for TDLD teachers and their diligence to document the child's progress from as early as infancy. Our twins' thirst for knowledge and confident well-balanced demeanor as inculcated by TDLD led to them being accepted to join the program after in-person assessment. We had the chance to go back and visit the school after a few months and our twins were so excited to meet all of their teachers (Danielle, Lisa, Becky, Tomoko, Elsa, Lynn, Susan, Aurora, Candy, Katy, Ashley, Cara, Yoko, Simin, Melina, Brennyn, Kim, Rosa, Liz, Brigid, Eigo) and chefs (Danial and Nathan); it was heart-warming to see their interaction with every single teacher at the school... From the very first day, Fareshteh aka Grandma welcomed us with open arms and instantly made us feel at home. She's the heart and soul of the daycare, and her warmth and love set the tone for everything. Masu aka Grandpa is there as wonderful support and backup, and together they make an incredible team. Dropping our little one off each day feels like leaving them with the grandma you always wished you had as a kid. Fareshteh pours so much love and attention into every single child. He often comes home with arts and crafts he's drawn or put together and it is sometimes hard to get him to leave. There is a very calm a d peaceful yet playful aura to children's space. Fereshteh truly cares for the children under her care and we saw that from our son's first few days. We visited to ensure a great fit and immediately was comfortable and drawn to her. At a previous daycare, drop off was dramatic and hard with crying and the inevitable parental guilt. However at Lyda, after just 2 days, my boy looked forward to his time there and was able to give me a hug, a kiss, and turn to go inside. That has never changed and means so much to me as a parent. The home is inviting and calm. Ferrshteh is loving, kind, and dedicated to the children. I highly recommend Lyda daycare.

My son was at Home Sweet Home for a year and a half. The first year was great, he was happy and…read morelearning so much. Then a new teacher started in November and things changed. The teacher informed me that he was "too attached" to his pillow, which I was asked to provide to help settle him at nap time. When approached by the owner, Laurie, about him having a difficult time napping, she didn't seem concerned about my son, only about avoiding difficult and upset messages from other parents. I am a single mom, so I didn't think anything of it at the time. In the past month, my son has had some challenging behaviors, all deemed "hard to handle". Instead of having a sit down, something that is listed on the website, I was sent multiple videos from his teacher of said meltdowns. This made me anxious, as there was nothing I could do for my son and I was frustrated that it was more important to his teachers that the video his behavior, instead of trying to re-direct him and calm him. The final nail in the coffin was a voicemail I received from Laurie. I had expressed concerns to another one of his teachers, suggesting that they could add another teacher if they were having trouble maintaining the class with outbursts from my son, and as well as other kids. Laurie did not hang up her voicemail on time and proceeded to call me a "stupid F*ck" for not knowing state daycare regulations, something that someone who is not in the daycare industry would know. She also said "she wants me to hire another teacher to take care of her f*cking son" and "She's gone. The minute I can get rid of him, I need to get rid of him because she is trying to cause trouble". When confronted, she said she would never allow her staff to talk negatively about the children in their care, but she is a hypocrite and will talk negatively behind your back. This place is not accommodating.
