He was kind of overcast day but we can't wait to come back on a sunny day when the doors are open to the patio with a beautiful Riverview!. We had the breakfast special sandwich which was a fried egg with arugula, hot pepper jam, cheddar cheese, speck and an aioli. It was delicious. The croissant was light and buttery and we topped it off with a brown sugar oatmeal cookie to die for. She had an oatmeal latte with a shot of almond and I had a mocha. Both were delicious. It was topped off with wonderful service. Delightful barista and just felt welcome for our first time there. Highly recommend!

Once inside, you will find a spacious, airy, open, indoor/ outdoor American patisserie with a French flair. The back patio is on a deck surrounded by trees and is waterfront on the Cocheco River. You would never know you were in downtown Dover. The pastries are baked to perfection from scratch each morning. The croissants are light and melt-in-your-mouth. We also ordered the "house-cured salmon tartine", which was loaded with an explosion of great complimentary flavors. The coffee menu was extensive. This place went from quiet and intimate to a flurry of activity with friends meeting friends quickly after 8am opening. Service came with a genuine smile. I love this place!

The place has a homey feel with plenty of antiques, vintage clothing & decor and old framed pictures on the walls. Some tables have old postcards laminated. You seat yourself here and there are menus at each table and specials posted on the chalkboard. Head up to the counter when you're ready to order, pay first or pay after. The staff will bring your food and drinks to your table. Since the place is eco-friendly, food is served on paper plates, drinks in paper cups and silverware wrapped in washable cloth napkins. After you're done, you dispose of the used paper plates & cups and drop off recyclable items near the register and place used silverware and napkins in appropriate bins.  I stopped by Bucky's for weekend breakfast recently. I sat myself at a small table near the back window next to the RR track and a great view of Lebanon, Maine across the small river. The place was moderately busy. I ordered the Wood Pile ($15 plus tax) which had 2 eggs (I chose scrambled), skillet home fries, house hash homemade buttered toast, and sausage gravy. This plate of food was filling to eat and very tasty. The service was very good here. I was given a cup of ice water after placing my order at the counter and my breakfast was served in about 10 minutes. The server was also walking around with a coffee pot refilling folks who ordered hot coffee. I would definitely recommend Bucky's for a tasty home cooked skillet meal.

It's the place you want to sit with a lavender latte (my favorite!) or grab something quick without sacrificing quality. The food is where they really shine--everything I've tried has been amazing. The bahn mi, buffalo chicken wrap, dilly salmon sandwich, gyro with lamb, and the açaí bowl have been my favorites so far. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Their homemade sauces take everything up a notch (and I often get extra because I love sauces) and the smoothies are great for a quick filling option. I also love that they've got plenty of grab-n-go options, interesting bubble waffles, and a big variety of drinks including lots of coffee teas seltzer drinks and even ice cream floats. The pastries are also to die for (chocolate croissant and spinach ham swirl have been my favorite so far). There's always something new to try. Whether you're hanging out for a while or just running in, this place is a total gem and hands-down beats any cafe around. I'm so glad they've stayed open longer this fall, and I hope they'll stay open year round eventually! Don't miss out during the summer tourist time, and order by phone or online in advance if you're driving by for a quick efficient stop.

I had a fantastic gluten free banana chocolate chip muffin and a breakfast sandwich. They have good strong lattes with lots of creative flavors (my husband got a peanut butter latte, I got a honeycomb one). Food is hot and fresh, dishes are creative. Definitely stop in if you're nearby!
