These guys are great to deal with, night an M350 dinghy from them last year, they were very appropriate about the whole thing and provided good information. Everything they promised really happened, I only needed to leave $500 deposit but could cancel any time I wanted before the order with Mercury was actually done by Buster's, other dealers were looking for 50% deposit as soon as you put the order even though it was 6-7 months in advance. Delivery date came in the beginning of April and off course we picked up the dinghy and took it right for a ride in the Hudson where I keep my boat, delivery was as smooth as everything else. I did had one issue after the first winter where my starring shaft froze, the team at Buster's worked with Mercury to make sure this is covered under the warranty. It really wasn't because Mercury claimed that it was a maintenance issue but again the guys at Busters worked it out with Mercury. Since then I used their services for a few different non related issues, also bought parts from them and they always were on point. Highly recommend!! read more

Ordered a $25 part from Walmart.com that was fulfilled by Busters. They sent a completely wrong part (that I didn't need and was a $1 part). Absolutely zero help from Buster's when I tried to get the issue corrected. Walmart ended up giving me a refund, but it this is a scam that this place runs on lots of people (see their Facebook page reviews for more examples). I contacted them by submitting a note through the website and received a confirmation email. After 24 hours I did not receive a response, so I called but received no answer. Not even voicemail. I purchased a Marine AGM 12V battery for $265 from Amazon. They used Buster's Marine to fulfill the order. I understood the ground shipping issue since transporting a battery is a Safety issue. The battery arrived today through FedEX. The simple cardboard box stuffed with brown paper holding the battery was destroyed. The box had been rolled several times and apparently tossed a top a pile of something? One does not toss 44 lbs that easy? I tested the battery and it had 12.59V. The packaging of the battery was dangerously stupid. No Safety stickers on the box alerting anyone to a battery inside this beat-up box. read more

I've contacted this Marina twice and actually spoke to someone both times. The first time they said they were going to call me back and did not. The second time was actually with Buster and he told me that he would call me back. He did not call me back so I reached out to him again a few days later. He informed me that yes no problem they would be able to get my boat in the following week and he would call Sunday to confirm the time. Never heard from them. I purchased a new Mercury as well as paying for a new prop as I was told props don't come with a new engine. After trailering my boat there 3X because wrong prop was installed I was told the correct prop was ordered. I ordered a six-pack of gear-case screw washers. The price for a 6-pak aligned with other suppliers for the same quantity, but after spending my $16 I received a single washer. I then started reading the customer reviews on Amazon for Buster's Marine Service and come to find out that I am just the latest one of many that have been fooled by their trickery. I should have read the other reviews before doing business with these people. I "purchased" an inflatable from them at the Annapolis boat show last Oct. At that point I was told it they would put 200.00 on my card and bill me the balance when the unit shipped. Next Amex statement showed 950.00 full price. I called and was assured the boat was close to being delivered, that it was hung up in shipping. I was patient and waited a month before calling back. In all I called about 6 times and was either told it was close to shipping or left a message and never received a call back. I understand issues happen but the lack of customer service and not even caring enough to call me back was terrible. Run from this place!!! They took my engine and was holding it for a month. After a month the engine was still not repaired. They will charge you for the parts over 200%. They did not return my engine (which was still broken, after 1 months) until I paid for repair of my old carburetor $330 (price for new one is $180). DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPERS at this shop!!! When I had my own boat, I bought a lock from him, and because it was the wrong size, I tried to bring it back. He was nasty and disrespectful. The worst experience ever. I was in the market for a RIB which they were a dealer for. I showed up to an absolutely disgusting shop. I should have known then. I ended putting a $1000.00 deposit. After a few weeks, I decided against buying it from them. They started playing games with the refund. They would say , I thought they credited you already or it was done last week. Needless to say there was no defund. Since my deposit was on American Express I called and explained the situation. I don't blame Buster's Marine for the product however they were not willing to work with me at all and in fact told me to stop bothering them and to buy another one if I was not happy with it. What a joke! These people are not mechanics they are crooked and thieves they will take your money and scam you by doing shoddy and unnecessary work here's an example I asked them to change my bilge pumps which were connected to the helm warning lights so when the bilge pumps go on I will see it at the helm what did they do? They disconnected the pumps from the main system over riding the factory installation and Jerry rigged the new pumps directly to the battery why did they do that? Now I can't control the pumps from the helm and the only way to shut them off was by opening the engine compartment and physically disconnecting them from the battery try doing that when your underway in a 40 foot cruiser! The joke was me paying Busters about a thousand bucks for a job where they damaged my system I had to disconnect the whole job and reconnect the pumps to the factory system now it works fine why did they do that? Because it was a shortcut like they do with all of their work you should see the mechanic they sent to my house to fix my boat he was a joke a young kid that knew nothing except ask for Busters money you don't believe me? Purchased a brand new Bayliner from them. Was the first boat I ever purchased and was very worried. Buster's helped every step of the way. They delivered the boat to my home. They spent half the day teaching me how to drive it. They helped me tie up the boat at my dock. a few months later we had a problem with the boat and they came to my house and fixed it. David Schmit (Buster) agreed to rebuild my port side engine and change the exhaust manifolds on both engines, a 20,000.00 dollar job! everything they did to the engines was a disaster, because of the poor job of installation, water leaked from the unsealed seals into both engine blocks and destroyed the blocks on both engines, I had to replace the blocks on both engines and the exhaust manifolds, they used cheap corrodable manifolds that were a joke, their job was a joke, the result? $40,000.00 more to replace both engines and manifolds, $60,000.00 worth of damages because of these disasters. I have read reviews about Buster's Marine from both sides - 1 star and 5 stars. Well, I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but my experience was nothing short of GREAT! I am in Mexico right now and my dinghy motor was acting up. I decided the problem was a gummed up carburetor. I called in the evening on Pacific time and caught Buster in his car on his way home (yes he forwarded his business phone to his cell phone). I told him I needed a carb. He told me he was driving home and could I call him in an hour. I asked if my number was on his caller ID and could he just call me when he got home. No problem.. long story short - he answered his phone while driving home, called me back when he got home, I told him I needed the carb in Arizona in 2 days so a friend could bring it with him on his trip to Mexico to go fishing with me, and he did it, and did it at a great price. He charged my card exactly the amount we had agreed on, sent it out first thing the next morning, and then called me back on Monday to ensure that I got it as promised. I couldn't possibly ask for any more. Buster's marine saved the day for me. Thank you!!! read more

Eric, I am not surprised at all about what Busters Marine did to you after you purchased your inflatable boat. My wife and I had a similar experience with them. We purchased an inflatable boat from them at a boat show and was given one price at the show. However when we took delivery of the boat and looked at our credit card statement the price had increased $400.00. We called and spoke to two men that work there...David and Aaron. They told us that their costs had increased since we had agreed on the deal and that we should be happy we are getting it for the increased amount and not even more than that!! We could not believe it. We used our boat for a season and in the fall the transon began to come apart from the rest of the boat. We tried to call Busters Marine 4 times and never got a call back. We filed a report with the BBB and we hope they took a hit on their business rating. Bottom line...anyone who is thinking about buying an inflatable boat from Busters Marine at a boat show please please please think twice! You will regret it like we did. read more
