09/12 While in the…read morearea of Liberty Ave in Jamaica, I remembered that I needed antifreeze, I was directed to Arch Auto Parts located in the vicinity of Merrick Ave and Liberty right in the heart of Jamaica NY. Arch Auto Parts is a local gold mine that is easily accessible with valuable accommodations, such as a front entrance and a back entrance, a parking lot, and an adjoining laundromat just in case you need to wash clothes. There is also a Pepboys tire service in the area as well as Popeyes and Dunkin Donuts, just incase you need to get a tire fix and while you are waiting for your laundry to finish or you are waiting for your tires service to be completed, You can nibble on chicken and a biscuit or get some donuts, your choice. Stepping inside of Arch Auto Parts, you will get a polite and friendly statement, such as "Good Morning, how may I help you." I did ask for a specific kind of antifreeze and I showed him my container. They did have it readily and available on the shelf with plenty in stock, so I took two. I am so elated that I was directed to Arch Auto Parts, now I won't have to leave my neighborhood to search elsewhere in hopes of finding the antifreeze for my car, I know exactly where I can get the right product at the right price. You can also find other automotive items like, motor oils, transmission fluids, brake fluids, hydraulic oil, and gear oils, just to name a few. They do have about 8 other locations, in the borough of Queens. You can google them to find each location. Inspire more. Yelp more!

I do not recommend this place. I asked for a total price for a battery replacement and was quoted…read more$250 plus tax. I was never told there would be extra labor, because most places install a battery for free when you buy it from them. When I got the invoice, I saw extra charges that were never disclosed: a $40 battery check that their own sign says is free with a battery purchase, a $10 labor charge, and a $9 shop supply fee when no supplies were used. When I questioned it, I was told it was a mistake and labor was actually supposed to be $50. That was never quoted upfront. If I had been told the total was going to be $300+ I would have just driven 4 blocks to AutoZone and bought the same battery for $180 with free installation. I had a similar issue previously when I had windows done. I was charged $250 for labor for a 40-minute job done by one person, while I watched from across the street, and was told two people worked on it. Pricing was not transparent and changed after the work was done. Be very careful and get your total out-the-door price in writing before you agree to anything. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Also note that when I pulled my credit card out, their machine charged it cuz I said how do I pay cuz I didn't recognize the machine. It didn't have a card swipe and he said it was already paid for.Just by me holding the card it charged my card this chip is so dangerous. I'm very good at reading faces too. The fat man lied to me when he told me it was labor and the face that the kid had was that of disgust because the fat guy went and blamed the kid for the mistake he did not do. It was never $50 labor they just didn't want to refund me so now unless they have a written quote that they handed me they can do what my credit card.
