idc what you have to say, this is my newport pub and i come for the pub food and vibes. i've eaten whole lunches and dinners here, and came for live music. most recently our friend was watching a game in the background while we got tea and dessert. this irish bread and butter pudding dessert is worth the ferry over from providence. the baileys creme brûlée was also torched and set well. i have never had a server be anything less than kind, calm, and helpful.

Decided to try another new to us place on this Newport trip! We sat at the bar for dinner. Small place, awesome decor, good vibe. We started with the scotch egg-- this was awesome! Well worth the try. I had the Reuben, labeled as the best seller-- SO disappointed. Couldn't even eat this properly because the bottom bread was totally soaked through (I'm guessing it was sitting too long before being served). I ate what I could but the experience was not what I hoped for. Hubs had the cottage pie, he enjoyed it. With so many other choices, will go elsewhere in town.

Buskers is a staple on our Winter Newport Run. Entering the old building off the cobblestones of Thames Street gets you ready. Inside you could easily believe to were transported to Anytown Pub in Ireland. The staff is always friendly, on our afternoon swing through we caught a great little Trad group who played quietly in the corner. Our swing back at night had a one man guitar band. Both were lots of fun. Drinks are always good including perfectly poured pints. The food is said to be good. I know it's good. And it surprises me how good it is every time. Thanks Liam for the great care! Sláinte!

Came in for a whiskey tasting with a group I belong to most recently but I've been in other times as well. The food is standard pub food. The staff is friendly. The drinks are always good!

From the very helpful and attentive staff, this food DEFINITELY surprised us! When you go to a pub, you don't necessarily think that their food will be good...well my oh my I was shaken to my core!! The CRISPINESS and the absolute delicious taste of the fried pickles and that sauce??? MY GOSH GET THAT!!! Don't let me start on them amazing chicken tenders!!! Absolutely delicious. Everything was BANGING here...and the service/ambiance genuinely went above and beyond. I DEFINITELY recommend coming here!!

In town from Long Island with my wife who was born in Newport . I always look forward to visiting. We've been to Buskers several times over the years. This is a classic Irish bar with quality food. What I love about this place is that it is a classic Irish pub with a Twist. The food is actually very good. They have a very nice selection of Irish whiskey, as well as a good beer selection. The bartenders here are friendly and make a quality drink. I went with a classic old-fashioned, which was made exactly as it should be. My wife had a drink called the tropical relief. This drink contained rum, vodka, pineapple. It was a very summer like drink, on an otherwise freezing cold evening. They have an extensive menu featuring Irish foods as well as burgers. For the appetizer, we had the potato skins. They say on the menu that they have corned beef in them. I would say the corned beef was a little lacking. Otherwise, they were very tasty. For dinner, I went with the beef stew. I would definitely give this dish an A It was flavorful and the meat was very tender. Clearly, the chef knows what he's doing in the kitchen. My wife, who tends to order from the kids menu at times ordered the chicken fingers. She said they were good but a little bit dry. Of note is the house made peach jalapeño wings sauce. I snagged a piece of her chicken and dipped it in the sauce, which I found to be really tasty and different. Buskers is definitely one of those comfortable places where you can belly up to the bar have some quality drinks and spend a few hours. I definitely recommend it if you happen to be in Newport.

Everything was tasty and the service was fabulous! Great Irish pub with great beer and drinks. I had a wonderful chocolate porter, so yummy. Dark and cool inside, nice cozy booths. I left my credit card by mistake and picked it up at the bar the next with an ID, thanks so much!!

Phenomenal. The food was so fresh and seasoned so well. The service, our server Heather, was great as well. Take advantage of the soda bread!

This Texas boy ate there 3 times in 3 days at the end of September. The reason...damn good Irish fare. I've spent a month in Ireland and covered most of the Emerald Isle. This place with its environment, food, Guinness and Smithwicks pours is about as close as you can get. Good Craic y'all!

Classic pub vibes as soon as you walk in. The patches around the ceiling show it's a popular spot for regulars. Ordered the scotch eggs and lamb burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was great and the fries were cooked perfectly, with a nice satisfying crunch to them. Loved that they had three different types of mustard to choose from. Great place to go for a filling dinner and quick bite of Irish culture.

A nice little Irish pub in Newport. The atmosphere was perfect Irish pub. Old brick building with tons of advertising, police and fire patches and all things Guinness! It has an enormous bar and a very laid back feel. We stopped for lunch and had fish and chips and a brunch breakfast sandwich. The fish and chips were fantastic!! Crispy and the white fish was super soft and flakey! Very fresh! The fries were soft rectangles of potatoes not crispy but a great potato bite and tastes. The breakfast sandwich had eggs, rashers (bacon), bangers (Irish sausage) and cheese on a brioche bun. Bun was super soft and the flavors were excellent! Could have used a little more spice in the bangers but still a really excellent combination. The service was good though I did go for a long time with an empty glass. Process were very fair.

I have reviewed Buskers before and enjoyed it. This is my first time trying their fish and trips. Wow. They are big. Real battered and fried fish. It was delicious. I highly recommend the fish and chips at Buskers.

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

Our waiter was kind, attentive, and very patient with us as we managed two hangry kids. One employee who was on break even helped me find a quiet spot to take a work call which I really appreciated. The kids' meal came out almost immediately. My son got the cheeseburger, and I was surprised by how big it was. It was adult sized, and he enjoyed and finished all of it. The mussels were the standout of the meal and the best I've personally had. They were incredibly fresh with no fishy smell and the broth was so flavorful. The bread that came with it was perfect for soaking up every last bit of the broth. The salmon was very fresh and cooked well. The shrimp scampi was also really good. The clam chowder was an 8 out of 10 for me. Not the best I've ever had but definitely one of the better ones. Pricing was mid range and felt fair for the quality of the food and the portions. Overall, we were really happy with the meal. Great service, fresh seafood, generous kids' portions, and a fun atmosphere. I'd definitely come back, especially for the mussels.

As I was looking for a place to have a nice dinner with a few coworkers, Wharf Southern Kitchen and…read moreWhiskey Bar ABSOLUTELY caught my eye. First of all, let's talk about the space. Nestled in the Wharf, it was a cute little place with both an up and downstairs. We reserved a spot for around 5:30 (in April) and it was pretty open. There weren't too customers yet, and it was nice and quiet. If you're looking for a ton of space for the seating area, I will say that there isn't too much room/it's pretty nice and cozy! At Wharf Southern Kitchen and Whiskey Bar, they've got a line of booths along the wall, a bar area right in the center and at the actual bar, a high top, another bar at one of the entrances, and a table that seats six. Now let's chat about the service. Our waitress was wonderful, patient, and was extremely helpful when asked questions and also gave SUCH wonderful suggestions. There were MANY fantastic choices on their menu and I was having a pretty difficult time narrowing down which one I really wanted, but with our waitress's help, I was able to choose pretty quickly (and they were AMAZING choices!) Now the food! The wait for the food honestly wasn't that long, and when we got it, we ABSOLUTELY CHOWED... -The Crispy Chicken Bites were AMAZING! I ended up upgrading to the Buffalo Style, and it DID NOT disappoint at all! The Bleu Cheese crumbles were just the perfect amount, and the Buffalo sauce was JUST enough to still enjoy the crispiness of the chicken. I DID ask for ranch on the side, and that just was *chef's kiss*! -I've never had fried pickles before, but I certainly have never seen a restaurant do it with whole pickles. Though it was my first time trying fried pickles, it tasted great! I wouldn't say it's anything special, but it's a great, and lighter on the fried side, appetizer! -I was having a hard time choosing what entree to enjoy, but I'M SOOOO glad that I went with the Smoked Brisket Chopped Cheese! I'm not a big brisket girl, but I will say that this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! At first when it came out on the bun, I was a little skeptical of how it would taste, but it definitely didn't disappoint! The brisket was cooked SO well with the perfect amount of seasoning, and it all just melted so perfectly together as I was eating it. And the tater tots were SO AMAZING (though on the saltier side) and SO perfectly crispy. I've only got great things to say about Wharf Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar & I WILL be back here/will suggest it to my friends visiting Newport one day!

I didn't see any particular difference between their "jumbo poached shrimp" and regular shrimp I've seen in a typical meal where you upcharge for shrimp. The salad was good otherwise and the service was fast and polite.

It had giant comfy couches, tall ceilings, and beautiful, upscale decor that made this feel like a glamorous experience. Our server was extremely personable and knowledgeable, what a delight! He answered our tons of questions and had great wine recommendations for my friend. We got conflicting information from the hostess vs the server on whether food was available and what time they closed, which seemed a little odd. Ultimately I was able to order off the abbreviated trivia food menu, and really enjoyed the Winter Vegetable Flatbread with sweet potato, Swiss chard, kale, and gruyere - very unique recipe with lots of distinct flavors that came together beautifully! The crust was soft and I dipped it in some beer cheese that came with my friend's pretzel (the cheese seemed a little watery to me but had a distinct beer flavor, so bonus points for actually being a beer cheese!) I couldn't tell if a couple of my beers got rearranged on my flight board, so wasn't sure which I liked and didn't. One was smokier than I would have thought it would be but had a sweet taste. The Boch was a bit bitter for my taste. I really enjoyed the White Stout most of all to my surprise - normally a heavier beer is just okay and not the favorite of my taste buds, but this one was so unique in style and crispiness. The beers all seemed very European leaning and authentic in flavor, although a bit on the heavier / less sweet side (fitting for the colder weather but not my personal favorite). The trivia host seemed to have a lot of regulars and the volume wasn't overbearing, I'll have to check it out again and actually play next time. I really loved the cozy upper brewery area - check it out before the renovations finish downstairs LOL!
