The proximity to town is nice for the perfect-length pre/post-dinner walks, and Thames Path being just behind the hotel ok allows for runs or strolls as far as you want to go. A little farther north or south will put you in two of Greater London's best parks. If you want to stay on-grounds to raise your heart rate, the exercise facility is one people pay high monthly rates to join. The pool is perfect and spacious, and you'll have all manner of what you'd expect to workout otherwise. I'm sure the grounds would be lovely in summer months, but you'll still have space to spread out indoors. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we'd enjoy our rumored return next year if it materializes.

It is a short walk from where the SL7 bus drops off, which makes it way back and forth from Heathrow to West Croydon. It was about a 35 minute ride from Heathrow to the drop off (it was later in the evening). The entrance is not well marked nor well light. I walked around the entire building, and thankfully I saw a gentleman that was entering so he assisted me in getting in (the door is locked after 9/10pm) and getting me to the check in desk (which is on floor 1, not the ground floor). They were expecting me so check in took about 30 seconds. I went up to the third floor to find my room. It was SO quiet, and the lights were off - they are motion sensitive and apparently no one had been out in the hall for a while. Overall, everything thus far was clean and didn't look dodgy. I opened the door and it was so nice - the room was larger than I anticipated, there was a large window I could open and get some fresh air, the bathroom was large and the shower could fit at least 3 people. Toiletries were provided. It was nice and clean, and smelled good. I thought I had read the room had a mini-fridge, perhaps I misread that, but there was no minifridge which was kind of a bummer as I was staying 5 nights. I had a wonderful night sleep! The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The blackout curtains worked amazing. Note to international travelers: it does say "kingsize bed" but it was the same size as a US queen, maybe just a bit wider. But definitely not as large as a US kingsize bed. Shower was wonderful - great water temperature and pressure. Reception was always cheerful. There is a bar and restaurant adjacent to reception. However, I only ever saw someone there eating once. Prices seemed reasonable and I was going to order food but they close "late" and I was wanting food past the hour of "late." No worries as there are quite a few establishments in walking distance, including a Nandos just outside, and Uber Eats can delivery literally anything. Including groceries! Location is amazing! I honestly don't think you could get a better location for the price. The train station was half of a block away, there were multiple bus stations within a couple blocks. The hotel is on the city center strip. Bushy Park is a couple minutes walk away (and Hampton Court Palace - that is about a 25-30 min walk). The train station is zone 8/9, so within the London Zones, and an oyster card works. I adored the location and spent an entire day going to the local shops. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend for those seeking a place where you can relax but there are all of the amenities within a 5 minute walk, and the hustle and bustle of London is 30-45 mins away.

However, if you do manage to find a space, or if you are coming by bus or train (Hampton Court station is less than a 10 minute walk away), this is a lovely historical old pub to warm yourself up in. It backs on to the gardens of Hampton Court Palace, and while not as old as the Palace, the building is thought to date back to 1658. If you come here, look out for a tiny doorway in the main room of the pub. It is so low that you have to crouch - it is about 5 foot high. It was built when men were a lot shorter than they are today. The main part of the pub is very inviting; dark wood and cosy chairs, many of them facing a huge open fireplace. I have not been overwhelmed by the food, truth be told. It is traditional pub fare- pies, steaks, pastas and a few gourmet burgers. They do have a wide selection of Sunday Roasts here, these are definitely worth making a visit for. This building also houses Hampton Court Hotel, which has 9 bedrooms.

Great selection of crazily named lagers.. Badger? Super friendly bar staff and locals. Amazing looking roasts and really good chips. Best part of this place is the relaxed, welcoming vibe. If this was in Angel it would be my Sunday local.. but if it was in London proper it probably wouldn't be as cool.

I am so happy, I did pick this place. I reserved a Deluxe King room. When we arrived we had no issue getting into the car park even though there was a gate. I was a bit tired from the long drive. The girl at the front desk was very cheerful and kind. She gave us our room key and said you are in a queen room. I had no idea what that meant until we opened the door to the Catherine Parr room. First, there is a hall way with a desk before you get into the actual room. I told my husband she gave us the wrong room we need to go back and tell her, I was very surprise we got this room. It is two rooms. A sitting room and then the bedroom. The bed is a metal queen canopy bed. My husband is large so I thought he would want to change rooms but he said it is one night and this room is beautiful. It was a great treat for our last night in England. The room is on the front of the hotel so you do get a bit of the road noise and noise from the pub patio but not enough to make us move. The bathroom has a shower stall and a separate tub. There is also a towel warmer, a pant press and a hair dryer. The WiFi worked well and two TVs. Plenty of enough space to unload our bags and repack them for an international flight. As we had a long drive we decided to eat in the pub for dinner. Additionally, we had a 10% off coupon. The front desk girl was now also working the pub with two others. I ordered the fish special and my husband ordered a burger. Everything was fine. Not our best meal in England but not our worst and the service was on point. In the morning the same three were working again. The staff here works hard and long hours all with a smile and good attitude. Breakfast was an assortment of breads, yogurt, juice, fruit and some cheese. They have warm options for an additional charge. Overall a very nice experience. I would love to come back and spend more time in that room. It was lovely. I am grateful for the upgrade it was so much fun. Finally, it was an easy walk to the shopping part of town.

The company I was working for in downtown Kingston-Upon-Thames put me up here for a couple of weeks, and I wasn't sure what to make of it before I got there, but the friendly staff, and the overall size and ambiance of the place eased my concerns. The rooms themselves are spacious, well furnished with leather couches, soft beds, and boast the latest amenities (bar fridge, espresso maker, and a luxurious rain shower in the modern bathroom. The free wifi was decent, if a little persnickety and insisted on forcing you to go back once a day, just to remind you that you were logged in... My room rate included daily breakfast at the pub, which was excellent. I ate there several nights as well: the food is high quality and the service is good, though the menu is fairly limited. Overall, a nice change of pace from more "standard" hotels. Everything was well designed and well executed to feel like an English hunt club, but it pulls it off without being the slightest bit cheesy. My choice of scallops (£8.95) was even better than I anticipated - optimally cooked, perfectly fresh - enhanced by the unusual accompaniment of fennel purée, oven-dried tomatoes and sprouted seeds. It was lovely, as I was able to relax a lot more than I ever do in a hotel. Being an apartment, it also had a kitchen, so I could cook for myself, which was great. It was also surprisingly cost effective, so really think these guys are worth looking at if your fed up of hotels.
