Check-in was fairly easy, with staff helping us out, and pointing out lockers we could use for secure storage of goods. Rooms were fine, nothing special. The place wasn't very clean, but the beds were comfortable, and I slept alright. Location is good for accessing city centre. Buses go from close by, and Fulham Broadway tube station is about 10 minutes walk. Certainly not the best hostel I've been in, but you'll struggle to do better on a budget in London.

The eating area cleaning person just swept the grime and dirt around the floor with the mop. A table that had all kinds of large food crumbs under it was that way for days. What is more, the position of the house is amazing. It is not far away from central London. And you can find tube station within 10 minutes by walking. Another good alternative is buses. There are more than 15 different buses near this house that will take you to wherever you want. The house is pretty and very clean. I was happy that I can use the kitchen free. The bathroom is always clean, because the host---James clean it every day. I am very happy with my experience in Woodville guesthouse. The host was very nice and with great hospitality. He cooks very well....to be honest I do miss his food......:-) My trip in London was perfect not only because of the view but also James and his guesthouse. To be honest with every one who will see my review, this guesthouse worth more than the price it charges. The host rents out 3 rooms in his house, and you have full access to the kitchen and the bathroom. I really liked the arrangement because I could cook me own meals and save some money on eating out. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The host, James, was very helpful and considerate. He is also very knowledgeable of London, so make sure to ask him for sightseeing suggestions. He is also very smart and pleasant to talk to. Definitely talk to him about art :) The house is situated in Walthamstow, one of the London suburbs. It's a nice neighborhood, there is a huge street market working on High street, so you can get, for example, fruits or other food for cheap. There are also at least three large supermarkets on High street, some pubs and restaurants if you don't cook or prefer eating out. Despite the presence of tha market I didn't have any problems with security, even when I came back late at night. The streets are well lit, there are police patrols, so it indeed feels quite safe. Walthamstow central station is within a 15-minute walking distance. There's a Victoria line Tube station there as well as buses and trains (I've never used the latter). The Underground will take you to King's Cross in 25 minutes and to Victoria Station in 40. The trains go every 3-7 minutes, but, unfortunately, I've found the London Underground to be quite unreliable, e.g. the service is disrupted sometimes -- but that is the problem you will have to face if you're staying in the suburbs (and a lot of other hostels and rentals are situated in the suburbs too). The buses are more reliable but take more time to reach London. There are night buses that run all night and you can use them if you're coming back late (the underground closes at 11pm). Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Woodville Guesthouse. It's a really good alternative to staying at a hotel if you're traveling on a budget.

Granted, it's been 4 years since I stayed here (shortly after it had opened it's London location), but it suited my every need at the time. I *LOVE* that rooms are exceedingly clean, have lockers & sinks, and the bunks are cozy with curtains and lights for privacy. It's clean and comfortable. Each bed has a curtain for your privacy and storage lockers. Each room as a wash basin. restrooms are shared, I believe, unless you book a private room. Both co-ed and single sex dorms are available. My only gripe was the the bathroom was kind of slimy; the floors were wet, there were no paper towels and flourescent lighting doesn't flatter anyone. No matter; I didn't spend too much time in there. Free breakfast is always a plus and even though it's just toast, OJ and cereal, it was filling enough. Service was friendly and informative. I'd come back.

The transportation situation to and from the airport was pretty easy. if you look up bus directions, it's just a short walk to and from the bus station. The room we stayed in was relatively clean with a bathroom in the hallway. We didn't notice anything suspicious and the Indian family that runs the place was nice. Check in time is at around 2pm (which we didn't know) so try to get there early if you can. If you want to pay in US Dollars, you will be charged a conversion rate. They probably won't tell you that if you book through a hostels website like we did. We didn't see too many restaurants, but we weren't really looking very hard for them. There was a Tesco supermarket nearby that was open till midnight and a different supermarket across the street. Overall, the experience was nice and we didn't face any major issues. For how much we paid, the room was perfectly reasonable.
