Ok first of all, who Knew that hatchet throwing would be so fun?!? And who knew I would be so good at it? Well, at least until the pressure was on. We came in and were greeted right away and after singing our waivers (of course) we got a little bit of training. I was doing fantastic by the way. Our trainer was so on point and all of the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. After we got our training, we had a little practice time...in which I was still doing fantastic by the way. After a little while of practice, our trainer introduced a couple of his favorite games. Thank goodness my best friend was the complete opposite of me and when the pressure was on, she carried the team to victory. I mean most of the time anyways. We definitely all had a lot of fun and I think we'll be back sooner rather than later...gotta get my skills on point for my next birthday..ijs

My first time axe throwing and based on this experience I'd definitely do it again. Came with a friend who had been here before and spoke highly of it. When I arrived, my friend was late so I grabbed a beer and observed other groups. All the beers were reasonably priced and they come with a free snack (chips, cookies, crackers, etc). When my friend arrived, we purchased an hour of play which was $70. We got a quick tutorial and started playing. It was a good time and an hour was the perfect amount of time to perfect the skill. I would definitely reccomend.

Such a fun and cool spot to try. The teach you how to throw and the instructors are super nice. It Wasn't super busy when we went and it was overall just a fun and different thing to do

I took members of my team to Bury the Hatchet (BTH) for an out of office team building opportunity! We had a blast!!! Jeremy was most helpful providing tips and best practices! My team really enjoyed themselves. This place also has TVs, snacks and beers! Definitely a win win. BTH is great for group outings, dates and even solo stress relief! My team wants to go back soon!

Bury The Hatchet is absolutely amazing! Juan Pablo, our instructor, is very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The decor at this location is beautiful, it feels like you're at a cabin in the mountains. Getting the Bullseye is an added fun achievement! The vibes are great and 10 stars!

Cool activity to do. I went on a date doing it and it was fun but i think it would be better if a group did it. Maverick was our instructor. Very sarcastic and helpful ;) lol but overall, great service.

To the right of The Sipping Plant. All the way at the very end.

This place is super duper pricey. Psst. Groupon... And the minimum reservation time slot you can reserve for is 2 hours. It does sort of make sense after visiting the place though... Word of advice, don't have too many people per group. Like bowling, the more you have, the less you get to play. Even if this factor doesn't make much difference, you'll have at least more practice opportunities. Unsure if the Axe Master changes it up a bit depending on the # of people though. i.e. A longer tournament. The Axe Master will be there the entire duration to keep an eye on everyone, providing throwing tips, and creating a flow from one session to another. With a group of 8, there were 4 rounds with practice opportunities in between. Round 1 is the practice phase where you get your hands dirty. Round 2 is more practice but using only one hand. Round 3 is used to rank you for the tournament. Round 4 is the bracket tournament against your teammates. There's a bar there so some drinking might help a bit ladies. It's honestly not scary; it's just the first few times throwing a weapon is sort of frightening. You might have sweaty palms and shake a bit, but it's totally safe if you follow the instructions. Ooh. Use the iPad that's on the furthest left (nearest the wall) to sign the waiver as the other two seemed to be less responsive to the touch. Parking is a fight for a spot since Bury The Hatchet is right beside The Sipping Plant. Luckily, they have an overflow parking down the hill on the right hand side. A word of caution about the one little spot near the fence beside the billboard that says "compact." Do not drive your car too forward as the hub's front bumper was literally damaged... I can imagine a Mini Cooper type vehicle to fit just fine, but a Civic sedan... Um. Be cautious.

Bullseye!

Bury The Hatchet makes you feel like kicking axe and taking names! You'll walk out feeling like a total bad-axe! Came here for a little double date night fun with another couple. We purchased our tickets through Groupon and made a reservation online for 6:45pm on a Saturday. We arrived around 6:30. Parking is limited especially around that time since the lot is shared between other businesses. However, we were able to find a spot near the front. Overflow parking is available at the next shopping center. The place was BUSY when we walked in. The space is big and houses several "lanes." Picnic tables and benches are in the middle of the room and you are allowed to bring food and/or have food delivered and dine inside. BTH serves snacks and drinks including beer. Having been here before, I knew that we had to sign our lives away through waivers on the iPads to the right of the entrance. There was a short line for the waivers, but didn't take long before it was our turn. After you sign the waivers, you check in at the front desk and they assign you with an instructor, AKA Axe Master. Ours was Maverick. Maverick was knowledgeable, helpful, and funny. He went over the rules and safety precautions and demonstrated proper form. Each lane has a log with three different size axes, two of each as well as two targets. Two players may go at the same time. Once we got the hang of throwing, Maverick started us with individual rounds. You can score up to 10, which is a "Kill Shot" on your 10th try, but you have to call it out before throwing. Otherwise, the most you can get is a 6, which is the bullseye. Throughout the night, we played several fun games with options of team/pairs or individual scoring. We played for two hours, which I think is the perfect amount of time. It allows you to play several games, practice or try out other axes as well as practice/try throwing with one arm. BTH is super fun and fantaxetic option for date night or getting some friends together for a friendly competition. I highly recommend it!

I had the time here, learned how to properly throw a axe . It was truly a workout but fun. Great for dates, friends outing or even team building. They also had side graves to play while you wait your turn. Never ending fun. Service was great they did had sad beer and wine but they have a limit.

Came here for a work outing and not going to lie.. this was actually a lot more fun than I thought. There was catchy alternative rock music playing with a small bar that offered beer and snacks (Not sure if I would feel comfortable drinking alcohol and throwing axes haha). I was a little nervous, prob bc I hyped myself up too much by watching all those crazy online videos, but our Axe Master (Sammy?) was so sweet and helpful. There were 3 different types of hatchets/axes - small, medium, large - and in the beginning, we were able to get our feet wet with practice throws. After that, we began a tournament that kept score of what we were able to hit, think of it like darts kind of, but with axes. It was fun to see all my co-workers and management in a different light. After the tournament, we went bracket style, and that was probably the best part. Nothing like a good old friendly competition, elimination style of course. We must have spent close to 2 hours doing all of this with a group of 6. Overall, I would say this place would be a good option for a fun group outing or even a place to release some stress.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Ready Set Fun…read more I booked and paid a $381.50 deposit for my daughter's birthday party scheduled for January 25. Unfortunately, our area was hit by a winter storm, and a state of emergency was declared both that weekend and the following weekend. Travel conditions were unsafe, especially for children and families attending the party. I notified the business as soon as possible, but they refused to refund the deposit and only offered rescheduling, for an additional $250. At that point, my daughter's birthday had already passed, so there was no reason to reschedule a birthday party weeks later. I understand businesses have policies, but emergencies and state-declared weather events are beyond a customer's control. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this directly, but no resolution was offered. I'm sharing this so other families are aware before booking, especially during winter months when weather can impact plans. The owner commented below- families let's use common sense as to why the party was canceled just four hours prior, the snow began coming down heavily, and I couldn't in good conscience ask my family members to travel on dangerous roads. The owner also failed to mention I was emailing Meg, since 6am that morning. Their behavior shows more compassion for money than families.

The pace was perfect and I never felt as though we were moving too fast. There were only 4 people in my Sunday afternoon class which allowed plenty of opportunities for him to walk around and help us individually. We also had opportunities to take little snack/bathroom breaks. The building is shared with the library and since that's closed on Sundays, there was usually ample parking. Sometimes there would be a children's performance in the theater near our studio but it was never really disruptive. Although sometimes, there would be less parking spots near the studio entrance on those days. I genuinely enjoyed taking this class at Spruill! I hope to take more classes here in the future and I even told my friends about it. The classes are reasonably priced for the quality of instruction that they offer, and there may be a few need-based scholarships available on their website. I believe there is a donation-based supply closet available to students who are currently enrolled in art classes, but the closet itself is only open during the week. Overall, I think Spruill is a great place hone any craft and I would love to take more classes in the future.

There were a LOT of wedding planners for us to choose from and the one thing that stood about TOAST…read moreEvents above any other planner is that every single vendor we loved recommended Lindsay Sims. In fact, Toast Events was the only planner on our list that every single person- both friends and vendors, had only glowing reviews of. We literally could not find one person who had a bad word to say about TEAM Toast. It's a rare thing when you're admired, respected and well-liked by everyone that works with you (especially in high-stress situations) and we asked a LOT of people. To this day I've never heard a bad word about Lindsay and that remains remarkable to me and speaks volumes about her business. TOAST is polite, professional and has great relationships. There is no detail too small and they were incredibly creative with how they showcased our personalities at the wedding. They really made our dreams come to life and protected our vision throughout the entire process. The worst part of our wedding being over is 100% not being able to work with Lindsay every day.

Clearly we had to make alternative arrangements--and make them quickly. That's when we met Lindsay Sims and TOAST. In that incredibly short span of time, using her wide network of contacts, she and her team created a remarkable series of events...all of them at the height of the "season". She figured out logistics, found and filled gift bags, had itineraries and programs beautifully printed, persuaded our hotel to provide a private hospitality suite, made reservations for fabulous dinners (one at an exclusive club). She also arranged for us to drink champagne while viewing fireworks from the top of a mountain; to take a sleigh ride past a frozen river to a nighttime dinner at a cabin in the woods. She organized a splendid hair and make-up session before the ceremony. She hired exceptional musicians and a talented florist who filled the RIGHT church with beauty and joy. The reception was the perfect finale. One guest was so impressed that he wrote an article about it for a local magazine. Another said she had to pinch herself in order to realize the experience was actually happening--it felt like a dream. (Fortunately, the photographer was so skillful we have proof.) Through it all, there was NO stress; we were able to relax and savor every minute knowing that Lindsay had it under control....working with her was a true delight. Anyone who has the opportunity of using her services has been blessed.
