I called in the Bury Post Office, located in The Rock Shopping Centre while in the town looking to convert my currency ahead of an upcoming trip to Berlin next week.
This review actually marks my 365th review this year, which successfully concludes my "Yelping Every Day" challenge, I set myself at the start of 2017 as I reviewed Uber in Liverpool, which started off this journey. On a more personal milestone, I now look to write 565 reviews this year to break my record of most reviews written in a year before, which I set last year in 2016.
Back to my regular review... this Post Office is more of a sub post office/newsagents as it seems to be a shop as well selling different types of items including stationery.
The store was a little cramped, dark and untidy and it wasn't the nicest of places to be, the Post Office (PO) counter was only small enough for two staff, the person who served me did seem really kind and helpful however helping 'bend the rules' so I didnt have to show my ID.
As mentioned, the location is good being in the centre of Bury, but as a large town I can't help wonder why there isn't a full Post Office branch located here, like nearby towns such as Middleton and Oldham have.
Overall, with good location and staff yet a poor, overall store in terms of overall feel, I feel this branch only deserves two stars. read more
