Went here on the advice of a friend. Very pleased with our experience! Upon our arrival, we were…read moremet at the serving bar in the middle of the store by Claire. Lots of meat samples were available, including beef sticks, jalapeño cheddar beef patties, and ring bologna. It all tasted amazing and we purchased some of the cheddar beef patties as well as two packages of the beef sticks. The showroom itself has a rustic, down home feel to it and the staff is extremely friendly. We felt more like friends than customers. There is a nice selection of beef, pork, lamb and chicken in the display cases. They stock a wide variety of meat sticks in many different flavors. All are reasonably priced. I was delighted to find sweet Lebanon bologna, something I haven't found in Kentucky yet. After making some selections, including a beautiful lamb roast, we made our way to the counter. There, we discussed with John their whole and half beef offerings, and their whole hog and lamb offerings. Prices on these bulk purchases are VERY reasonable and they provide grain fed and grass fed options. Grass fed options are expectedly a little more expensive. Claire showed me a steak cut from their grass fed cow, and I have to admit it was nicely marbled and a beautiful deep maroon color. It appears they age their beef perfectly. We took their fliers and will be back early next spring to purchase our 2026 meat supply. These folks also process over 4,000 deer a year. They provided me a free sample of their venison sticks. They were delicious! Due to the fact that this a Mennonite, family run business, I wasn't sure how they would feel about pictures, so I didn't take many. Honestly, pictures are unnecessary. These folks run a solid, quality family business, selling quality meats at reasonable prices. Come check them out for yourself. The store was clean, smelled good and had a down home ambience. Parking was ample. The business is handicap accessible. One thing to note. These folks are way out in the countryside, along a dusty country road. Follow the signs, and you'll eventually arrive. You'll think you're headed the wrong way. You're not. The signs are accurate and will lead to the place where friends "meat". After visiting this fine establishment, there are lots of other small family businesses to purchase your produce and bulk foods from in the immediate area. This place is situated in very scenic Kentucky countryside. I am happy to give these fine folks a five star rating and plan to continue to make the hour drive to visit them for our meat and poultry needs.

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!!!…read more Now known as Walker's Butcher Block this place is immaculate. The inside has been completely renovated and their approach to processing game and running the business is exceptional. Older negative review should be completely disregarded and has a big game hunter who prefers to process 100% of his own harvest, I will be taking much of my game here in the future. At my request they deboned the meat and use no saws and cutting of steaks or bones so there is zero bone fragments or marrow on my elk. They trim the sinew perfectly and what I ended up with is even better that I have had done it myself. Those of us who know the flavor of the game is 90% related to how it's handled from the moment the harvest takes place until the minute it hits your dinner plate . Walkers butcher block (previously known as the Lebanon locker) has my complete trust now and actually saved my ass when I had to travel unexpectedly on the day I was going to process my own meat. They took in my beautiful idaho harvest (6x6) at the last minute and turned it around immediately. The price is reasonable but most importantly I have an entire freezer full of perfectly trimmed and packaged meat that's ready for my grill, broiler, or crockpot. another Wilson County family owned business that goes above and beyond and we need to patronize with our business ! 100% trusted and I'm telling all my hunting friends.. feel free to call Houston's in Mount Juliet for support of my recommendation. .
