The scheduling staff is fantastic! It's not only their friendliness, they truly work with you and try to get you an appt as soon as possible. Professionalism at it's finest, yet caring and compassionate. The techs doing the testing on your eyes are also professional and friendly, and they all seem to enjoy their job, which passes onto you a feeling of coziness. And Dr. Gentsler.....I cannot express strongly enough how wonderful this woman is to her patients!! I have sent 3 friends/family to her after I had my first appt with her. (and I just recommended her to my book club ladies last night). These were people headed to KC for eye appts and I told them about my experience with Dr. Gentsler and her staff. But I am not happy with my service, the doctor gave me a horrible prescription. I got my eye exam around 28 December, but could not afford to get glasses until February. I was not aware that you had 30 days from your appointment date of EXAM to be within warranty of telling them that your prescription was incorrect. That was never fully expressed to me. I received my glasses on February 17 so obviously that is already beyond the "warranty". I think it's extremely unfair that I didn't have the chance to try the prescription during the warranty period that I wasn't aware of. So maybe a week or so after I get my glasses I tell them how I'm experiencing extreme headaches and I felt as though there were no medication in my right eye, and I'm almost confident in this because I've always been told that my eyesight is near "20/20" and because of that Dr. Perl here at this office, told me that I don't need a right contact lens, (I was getting both glasses and contact exam that day,and after trying that out it didn't work for me it still gave me headaches as though I weren't wearing any glasses at all. Just because the need in my right eye is minimal does not mean that I need zero and that is what I was given and I didn't know to protest it; I was trusting her suggestion to try the one contact lens. They inform me I'll have to pay $130 for another exam!!!! Are you KIDDING me!? I'm broke, lost my good job with insurance & doing temp work to make ends meet. I purchased the glasses a before my insurance ran out they were supposed to last me!! Very upsetting. I'm back to my old glasses 24/7 because they don't give me headaches The only reason I'm not giving it a1 is because of Teresa! I know it felt like I was there for 3 hours I really appreciated her taking time with the 2 hours I spent to find the perfect under-insurance-paid-threshold frames that I truly liked! I have been taking my 3 children to venture in dental for 4 years now, and I'm so frustrated with…read morethem! While the ladies are nice, the place is unorganized. Let's be honest they over book children. You're waiting a significant amount of time. I don't think anybody's ever been called back at their time they take forever. And while I can look past that what I can't look past is the fact that finally after having my children go every six months the moment they said that my youngest had two cavities I thought this can't be true and that my other two children also have cavities. My 5 year old has the best oral health and AMAZING at brushing. So it really caught my concern so what I did is, I went to another dentist in Lawrence today. While my oldest child does have 1 cavity my 9 and 5 year old did not have ANY cavities not even a chip to consider as a cavity! So very interesting how anybody who takes a child to adventure dental they're always saying yep, your child has cavities, I hear it for everyone there getting cleaned. This is fraud and taking advantage of children, and people who have kancare. Will never go back! If you're reading this get a 2nd opinion!

My vision insurance provides an annual exam for $10, their office is now billing me over $200 and told me after the visit that it is not covered (even though they said they did accept it when I made the appointment). Shame on these people. Now I know not to trust providers-need to verify with insurance EACH AND EVERY TIME. I've never had this happen before. First and last time. Too bad they lost a future patient.
