They corresponded with our Vet in Jonesboro, AR and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture, to make sure we had all the appropriate paperwork. It was the best experience and my dog really likes them!

I was surprised that yelp has such difficult reviews…read more I've been using Emporia Veterinary Hospital for more than 30 years. I have nothing but positive experiences, even through the changes as veterinarians have retired and moved on. For me, I have liked that they understand different pet relationships and that I live in a very rural setting and have different rules and values related to pets. My first black lab absolutely loved to go to the vet and I discovered over time it was because they treated her like a princess. In her last years, she would overheat during the summer and act really ill. It became known as her "spa days" as she repeated it several summers before it truly was her time to go. She had bad hips and I found out later that the staff would let her lay in the floor and talk to her while they did surgeries! One time they called to ask if they could give her a bath and clip her nails since she would always immediately perk up once she arrived to stay for observation. My last black lab was also very elderly and having hip problems. I drove in the driveway in the early winter darkness and didn't see him coming towards me from the ditch. This happened during a huge life crisis. I called Emporia Veterinary Hospital after hours and a vet called me back right away and drove 20 miles to help me. I was a basket case. Because of his advanced age, we talked about his options and I decided....well, you can guess. But, she was so calm and good to both of us and he passed very peacefully. Today I called about the process for getting flea and tick medicine. They answered my questions and I will be going there later to make a purchase.

They kept her overnight to run test and sent her home with some antibiotics after deworming her. They did NOT do any tests on her whatsoever. Last night her health declined rapidly for no reason. This morning we thought she was doing better but then she started bleeding through her nose and not being able to breathe, she was choking on the blood. We did in fact find out she had Feline Aids and it was passed down from her mom. It could have been detected if they ran the test. Today we called the vet to make an appointment and they did not think it was an emergency that my kitten was bleeding and choking on it. They wanted us to wait 4 hours to be seen. We ended up having to put her down. Do better!!
