I called their office and made sure she was close enough to the phone so the man receptionist could hear. My pet was their patient from the time it was first adopted as a puppy. She was almost 4 years old. This was the second time there was an emergency with her, and the last time they tried to turn me away. Yes I always pay my bill in full at the time service is rendered. Again they said they could not work her in and to go else where. I went to an a veterinarian I had no experience with at Gage Animal Hospital. Their office was empty except for the people who worked there. Believe me that is a bad sign. The vet took the dog and sent me away, said to return in 2 hours. They would xray her and wanted to put her to sleep for the procedure. This dog was alert, standing without aid and breathing was slightly labored. An hour later they call and tell me she died. When they put tried to intubate her something went terribly wrong(i was not advised they would do this) and she bleed to death. I think I was dealing with an incompetent vet. Who intubates when there could be something in the throat. Rat poison was mentioned but why didn't they just put a breathing mask on her and test her blood first. I would think a more conservative approach would have been better. Neither office will see any pet of mine again.

She was fine for the two days before we took her to the vet. My mother specifically told them NOT to put flea and tick treatment on her because of how small she was (not only was she a kitten, but she was a runt and incredibly malnourished). Because of construction my family wasn't able to go back with the kitten and by the time they had brought her back out, she already had the flea and tick treatment on her. We brought her home and she was really sleepy and lethargic and only a couple hours later we found her dead. The only thing they could offer up for their mistakes was a measly apology. An apology wont bring back the kitten we lost, or the money we lost either for a treatment we DIDN'T WANT. This is my very first Yelp review and I hate that it has to be such an awful one.
