My experience with Community Health Center on Pine Street Burlington, VT has been nothing more than…read moreEXCEPTIONAL and 5 stars for treating my elderly mother. It all started almost 2 years ago, with the excellent care from the receptionists who answered the phone who are always willing to help me scheduling appointments or rescheduling, lol, you know when life happens. They have always made me feel like I am being heard with my request!! Then when aids call my mom's name they're right there to assist her and have patience and understanding of her conditions. They are kind as they go about their duties to get my mom's chart and vitals ready for the doctor, even if she repeats herself 20 times in 10 minutes!!! Then comes in Dr. Therese Ray! - she's a GOD send to our family and I (we) feel lucky that she's not overwhelmed if there are 1,2, or sometimes 3 in the room asking questions lol. My mom's condition ranges from her heart, diabetes, Dementia etc.,etc.. Dr. Ray is honest and patient, she understands my mom's needs and I feel so confident in every decision she has recommended - from treatment plans, medications, and for the truth and about some hard issues ahead. But my mom had so many specialists before and so many doctors and doctors appointments it was exhausting and very depressing. Unfortunately I don't think that she gets paid enough like all those other specialists my mother had to go to before we came here CHC. I know Dr. Ray has a big sigh of relief when I or all of the other family members leave her room. KIND, CONSIDERATE, RESPECTFUL, and Professional, that's my experience. It takes a village and My Family is very blessed that we can include Community Health Center on Pine Street in our village and our family. Thank you, John. P. S. Nurse Practitioner O'Shea, is Amazing also!!! If Dr. Ray is not available.

Dr. Therese Ray has been VERY instrumental in diagnosing and arranging treatment for my mother-in-law. After visiting CHC on Pine Street for nearly a dozen appointments, our family must readily and happily report that THIS health care center CARES...Dr. Ray and the staff all CARE!! Having moved to Vermont after living in Arizona, where care is NOT so attentive and professional, I cannot imagine a better health center for my mother-in-law.

For years I have been plagued by various and serious health conditions with no definite diagnosis…read moreor even being misdiagnosed. I was then recommended to make an appointment with Dr. Green at Vermont Natural Family Medicine. Finally, blood tests were ordered that I should have had throughout the years. Then, at last a diagnosis! More importantly Dr. Green began a homeopathic protocol that subsided and even eliminated some symptoms. Thank you Dr. Green for your knowledge of Lyme Disease. Thank you Sandy (sure hope I have your name correct), the lab tech. who drew blood for all the tests...your compassion, kindness and encouragement was just what I needed ...you are one of God's earthly angels. Thank you to the wonderful women at the front desk. I am now on the road to recovery. With great respect and appreciation, Constance Ashton

About ten years ago Dr. Green tested me for food intolerances using the Carroll method and told me…read moreI was intolerant to gluten and dairy. I trusted the result, cut both out, and stayed mostly gluten-free for several years. Acting on it had real side effects for me: a big change in how I ate, big effects on my body, and years of going back and forth between trusting the result and doubting it. I was also sold a number of supplements and remedies, which in my opinion did little more than a placebo would. In 2016 this practice's website described its approach as "in direct lineage from Dr. Otis G. Carrol," the method's founder. According to the method's own lead teacher, the test places a dried spot of blood in an electrical instrument and reads small changes in current as each food is introduced. She has also written that the research behind it was informal, and its proponents say it is not meant to diagnose disease or allergy. I have found no published study showing that it detects food intolerances, or even that it gives the same result twice. Celiac disease and food allergies do have standard, validated tests. I can't speak to how the practice works today. If you are offered a food intolerance assessment here, I would ask which test is used and what evidence supports it before changing your diet, and ask the same about any supplements before buying them.
