I've been to lots of chiropractors, osteopaths, masseuses, physical therapist, and other manual "body workers" all over the country, and Tilyr is one of the best. I liken such heath practitioners to musicians: anyone can be taught to play a piano or cello, but not everyone can be a virtuoso. Now, I'm not saying Tilyr is the definitive Yo Yo Ma of all chiropractors, but he definitely has a rare gift, and I'm thankful I found him. Tilyr has a gentle touch, using the drop-table to work on most spinal adjustments, and he also does extremity adjustments (more on that later), cupping (for muscle tension), and Graston (not sure exactly how it works, but boy, it really does.) He is intelligent, knowledgeable, gifted, perpetually pleasant, and just so gosh-darn happy! His staff is also lovely, and his office is well run: they are almost always on schedule. I first came to see Tilyr for orthotic inserts -- my Rolfer recommended him because he makes them himself instead of just sending off measurements or imprints to some remote company. His attention to detail, responsiveness to my questions and concerns, and willingness to spend the time and effort to make sure my orthotics were adjusted perfectly for me really impressed me. So I've been coming to Summit for a variety of issues ever since. Having proper orthotics has truly changed my life, decreasing my leg and foot pain enormously. It's also improved my posture, deceasing my back and shoulder discomfort as well as reducing neck-related headaches. As a distance runner, one thing that I have come to rely on Tilyr for is "extremity adjustments" -- he is one of the few chiropractors who is certified in this in all of Vermont. Ever wish your carpal tunnel syndrome could have its own chiropractor? Ever wanted your knees to get realigned like your spine can be? Well, Tilyr can make your alignment dreams come true! My feet are a mess. My arches are practically inverted (hence, the need for orthotics). I have extra bones in my ankle. My feet get all tight and sore. I lose toenails like they are meant to be disposable. My fibular head likes to wander off its God-given path. But Tilyr can put every bone back in its rightful place, decreasing pain and increasing mobility. By the time Tyler is done with them, I feel like I have whole new feet! If you are hesitant about trying chiropractics for the first time, or if you are looking for a more effective chiropractor, I highly recommend Summit Chiropractic.
