We showed up without a reservation around 6pm and easily found an empty spot for the night. The restrooms and showers were extremely well kept. Make sure to bring quarters for the showers; we forgot but luckily the ranger/attendant was able to give us change. There is also a short walk through the redwoods to the river nearby. Overall it was well worth the $35 fee.

This campground is the perfect place within the Redwood forrest. We stayed on campsite #26 and it was right next to a small walking trail. This spot in particular provided huge space to choose from for a tent. If you stay within the center of the campground you'll notice how close you are to your neighbors. I really liked how we had our space and weren't surrounded by other campsites. Right across the street you can immediately start walking on paths and experience the huge trees that surround this place. The river is also near by which is great to see. Bathrooms are clean and overall I recommend coming here for a perfect getaway.

Clean bathrooms, and showers! So bring quarters! They sell wood at the sight. Lots of great walking trails near by. The bear cabinet for your food is a game changer! You are close to people, but it really wasn't that bad :) I would definitely visit again!

That being said, there's very limited cell service, if any, which can be a pro and a con. There are many trails that lead to views or the nearby creeks, although most are not dog friendly so keep that in mind if you're bringing your furry friend. They have large campsite bonfires where campers are invited to learn about different facts about the environment and animals in the area, which is fun for children. There are clean bathrooms and showers which are available on both sides of the campground. Showers are operated by quarters so bring a a couple rolls. Each campsite has a decent amount of space and has its own table, fire pit, and bear proof locker. I've seen bears in the area but they are very peaceful and keep to themselves and just want to eat the apple trees. My favorite time to go is end of July and August because the blackberry bushes are fruiting, and you can make fresh blackberry pancake pancakes in the morning (although they have cut a lot of of the blackberry bushes down since they are invasive, so you have to walk a little farther to find them). Overall it's a very peaceful and beautiful campground that I find my self return returning to every year.

One of the best parts of staying at Albee Creek is driving to and from the campground each day. It seriously is as impressive as touring and hiking through the redwood groves we came to see in the area. The trees are incredibly tall and gigantic. Wow. What an amazing place in the world this is.

Two nights in a tent site this month…read more Pros: Fantastic service and communication by the camp host, both before and during our two night stay. Bathrooms were very clean, well lit, and fully functional. Firewood and other necessities were delivered right to our site upon arrival - so awesome! The patch of old growth we camped in was long-ago cut large trees which had sprouted a dozen or so normal trees out of them. The woods were DARK due to dense canopies and staved off the rain when it fell, which we loved. Most importantly, this CG doesn't fill up six months ahead of arrival date so you can actually book them like a normal campground used to be (I'm glaring at YOU, California State Parks). Cons: Loud road noise due to proximity to 101 and surface roads. In fact, several of the sites abut the neighboring private property, allowing you to see through an old privacy fence directly into their back yard. Luckily our host let us swap spots when we realized this. Several tent campsites lacked picnic tables, which made me concerned if they'd have been full (they definitely weren't this May weekend). The fire rings were sufficient but also just old wheels. Showers in bathroom were in dire need of new fixtures (hard water made them look quite...eek...just glad I wasn't wearing my glasses while I showered). We recognized this area is a difficult one to have high expectations in due to remoteness and gave an extra star for the supremely kind and helpful woman who hosted us. We may not be back up here again, but if we are I hope to run into her.

The guests were speechless when they saw the tents and experienced the richness of each tent. Wayward Glamping provided over 10 tents for our weekend event. They did a site visit as soon as we picked a date. They worked with us on the placement of the tents - must be on level ground, how much space is needed for each tent, etc. Then, we went for it and added a larger tent to use as a "hang out" area for the weekend. Emily took over 50 calls from me (sorry Emily!). She always responded very professionally, and swiftly and had an answer for every question. We ended up renting all of her decor for the long weekend. Her crew was meticulous in setting up the tents. They have an incredible system for packing and unpacking. Each tent was stocked with hand warmers (we had a cold front), coffee set-up, wine glasses, water, make-up wipes, washbasin, pitcher, sitting area, blanket, Pendleton blanket, 4 pillows on the beds, wall decor, chargers, BlueTooth speaker, bath towels, pool towels (we paid extra for these), solar outdoor lights, rugs, and end tables. Emily gave me extra solar-powered fairy lights to help decorate the entrance to the tent village. She knew I may not have enough lighting. I am so thankful for Emily''s creative vision and for making these special tents for our guests. The only recommendation I would make is - if you can set up some "up-lighting" on the tents at night. The tents are like a blank canvas and adding some lighting on the exterior would be incredible. This is nothing Emily would provide. Highly recommend Wayward Glamping.

We had our wedding at Cuffey's Cove a month ago and offered glamping instead of a hotel block to our guests. My fiancé and I had never done glamping, let alone knew what to expect. Emily was super easy to communicate with and answered our many questions about her glamping services and the accommodations in her tents. We and the guests who stayed were absolutely blown away - each tent had very comfortable bedding, a charging station, a nice wash station, coffee, water, and tea - the details were incredible! Furthermore, Wayward was able to make individual tent layouts with twin or queen beds so that friends, couples, and family groups were all comfortable for their stay. Thank you Wayward!

I got completely lost in the magic of those towering redwoods , which honestly, I didn't mind one bit. The camp I originally planned to stay at ended up being closed for the season, and by then I was tired... but also a little nervous to camp alone in the forest. Then I stumbled across this place, and let me tell you, what a gift. The people were so friendly and accommodating, and the whole atmosphere just felt safe and peaceful. The bathrooms and showers? So clean. The other campers? Quiet and respectful. I didn't end up using the pool or hot tub, but I peeked in while pulling up, and it looked calm and cozy , the kind of place you can actually unwind. I felt so comfortable that I slept like a baby. Woke up feeling thankful , truly thankful , for the kindness of strangers and the little moments that make solo travel so worth it. I'll definitely be back... next time with my family.

You can tell that once upon a time this place was really nice during to the amenities they have. However, I don't think anything has been fixed, updated or possibly deep cleaned since the opening. I would guess that was a long time ago, sadly. We checked in late and after sunset, so you couldn't really see what the property looked like. The photos and reviews on the KOA website, so we hoped for the best. However, upon waking up to heavy machinery the next morning before 7am and barking dogs, it wasn't looking good. Once the store was open, I went inside to speak with the front desk. Upon my walk, I quickly realized how dirty and old the property was. Once I got inside, it only became more apparent. Lot of dust, ignore the mess signs/things don't work signs, and a girl at the front who just nodded. Not very helpful to say the least. I will spare the other details of some of the garbage and mess we encountered, but let's just say we didn't leave our RV much. Our site was also dirty and didn't look like it had been cleaned since a few stays ago. Not worth the price we paid at all!
