They have live animals around too, so the farm part of their name is not a joke! While I was a little bummed I had to drive all the way here from Dallas, it ended up not being a bad thing. The setting actually proved to be a great way to get away and concentrate on the subject I was there to learn more about with fewer distractions, minus the occasional chicken that walked into the classroom!

I knock down one star because the food was not as good as the mansion. The steak was a little bit tough, and the chicken was hard. The bread is the winner! Inside did not disappoint, with lots of detail and open spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions to be held. There is a "man cave" in the basement for the groomsmen and second floor space for the bride and her ladies. An elevator makes traveling between floors a cinch. There is a beautiful pool and ceremony room, which has a wall of glass that allows for views of the property, trees, and barn in the background. Reasons for not offering 5 stars would be the seemingly inexperienced and somewhat inattentive staff and the extremely cold reception space. Many guests were clearly cold (it was a wet winter day with cool temperature) and it felt quite chilly in the space. The staff were friendly however did not seem to go out of their way to check in with guests. You had to flag down the servers for a passed appetizer, instead of being offered one. Hopefully these issues can be improved upon to improve the guest experience and make the wedding couple feel pampered and stress free on their big day.

I will become a regular here and I found out Wednesday is happy hour prices. Reds for $6 and white for $5 a glass. Susan took care of us and she was amazing!! She allowed us to taste the wines to make sure we liked our final selection. She answered all our questions and educated my friend on the different types of wine because she was a beginner wine drinker. We also learned that all the wines they serve are Lost Oak's. Even though we got there at 7:20 and they closed at 8pm she didn't rush us and took her time serving us. My friend got a white wine and I got the cabernet franc. We both enjoyed them. The establishment is beautiful, the have seating outside and inside. They also have games and a wine club you can join. Can't wait to go back especially when the weather is a little cooler so we can use their fire pits.
