Burger: Tried the " The Mother of all Burgers" from the menu - actually was relatively impressed. It was large, not too dry (but not incredibly juicy either), and the egg went well with the fixin's. Whole grain bun. Fries: Dearly lacking. The size of steak fries with the taste and consistency of a dry yet limp rag. Fries are important to the burger experience, and hence the ding down to 3 stars. Atmosphere: Trendy casual, but with a long and slender snug-room Dutch style. Comfortable inside, with a few outdoor seats on the quaint Prinsestraat. Worth it for me to try again with another burger and sides. read more

Been here twice. 1st time the chef making my burger had his hand down the back of his trousers itching himself - no washing of hands after. For some reason I went back again. 2nd time the chef put something onto the hotplate that then filled the restaurant with fumes so acrid and pungent the everyone had to evacuate coughing and spluttering with watering eyes. When I complained the waitress just said "It's nothing to do with me - it's the chef's fault". Great. When you actually get a burger they are ok. read more

If it was just for the food, I would have given them a bit better rating. But because of the staff, it's low. The go green option is very nice and healthy, but the staff thinks they're better than the customer. Very sad. Went there, sat down and didn't get a menu and wasn't asked what we wanted to drink. We were the only two people in the place. After 5 minutes a befriended couple of the cook walked in and they got menus and were asked what they wanted to drink. Then we finally got some sort of service. Last time I went there. Maybe they should just cook for friends and not be bothered by customers. read more

Oh funny little hipsters serving burgers. How adorable your side eye is. Ok, but now on to the real review. I was in the mood for a burger, but not a beef burger. So I checked Yelp and found this place. After it took me a second to find the place (Hey, I am still getting my bearings), it turned out to be a great choice, food wise. Like some of the others, I found the service to be a bit lacking. However, the tastiness of the food made up for it. I go the chicken burgers and it was one of the better chicken burgers I have ever had. It wasn't your typical battered and deep friend patties, but rather a ground patty. YAY! The fries were plentiful and yummy. However, the milkshake. Oh the holy chocolate amazingness of the the brownie milkshake. Seriously, soooooo good and totally worth the hipster side eye. I went early, as I figured it might get busy later and I was right. It started to fill up before I had finished dinner. A little pricey for a burger joint, but totally worth it. read more

Being kind of a sucker for burgers, I really wanted to find a good place to eat burgers while in Den Haag. Turns out, burgers are not that big of a thing here compared to Stockholm, Sweden. However, this place was pretty good! Not that much people and you get your food really fast. I had the Dutch Weed Burger with fries, which is their vegan alternative. It comes with a algae infused bread, no-egg mayo, pickles, red onion, lettuce, tomatoes, a salsa and a burger made of something called Beets with seaweed. The bun is really nice. Good sponge to it, but it was a bit to crispy which made it hard to eat with a fork and knife (I have a personal rule saying that I only eat burgers with my hands if its fast food burgers). Veggies are fresh and the no-egg mayo was really good. So the burger. It was nice. But not more then that. Could have had a bit more taste to it and it has a bit of a pasty consistency. Apart for the pasty consistency, the texture of the burger is quite something. Its more like chicken, so if you are a longtime vegan and not used to meat-like texture, this could be a bit of a surprise. However, the no-egg mayo compliments the burger quite good giving it more taste. Over all it was a pretty nice burger, and I would definitely go back and eat it again! The fries was nothing special. Your typical fries at your typical burger joint. Compared to the burger this is something that could be improved with homemade fries. Burgers and beer goes hand in hand in my world, but the assortment of beer wasn't that good. If you want burgers in Den Haag, this is the place to go! I will definitely go back. read more

I really like the place, the atmosphere and the burgers of course. Very casual, perfect for hang out with friends. Burgers are huge, home made and delicious... but the best are the milkshakes, the only decent milkshakes I have found in Netherlands. Given that beef is not the Netherlands' specialty meat, I was still excited that the Hague got a burger place... I WAS excited... until I actually ate there. Here is why 'Burgerz' is not the place: - cartilage!! too much of it mixed into the meat, gross - over cooked meat - dry and chunky - when it was requested medium-rare - starter 'nacho' tasting completely anonymous - painfully slow service - RUDE staff: they messed up my partner's meal and didn't replace it until I had long since finished my own. There was no offer to compensate for the mix-up. My partner, coming from a restauranteur family in de VS, was very sympathetic and told them 'well, things happen'. THEN the young woman preparing the food proceeded to make fun of my partner (in Dutch!) for being so 'superficially' nice about THEIR mistake. Unbelievable. Haagse bewoners, if you want a good burger, looks like you'll still have to go to Amsterdam (vb Burger Bar or Ghetto) or Rotterdam. Words of warning to the staff: you live in the hague and there are many people from diverse backgrounds here (40% die in het buitenland is geboren). Just because one client doesn't appear to understand Dutch, does not mean that the other can't as well. You should be grateful when a customer is gracious about one of YOUR mistakes, rather than act like a condescending jerk. If you hate your job, that's your problem, not the customer's. I am open to try it again if Burgerz decides to make an attempt to create a real burger place: quality meat, service, and relaxed atmosphere. But for now, this is just not good. read more

We had lunch there mid december. The choice of burgers is great and it tastes good. But please take good care of your customers and give them attention when you are just open. It would be a shame if this restaurant would not make it. read more

Ok because of the great fresh products. Coca Cola in a glass bottle, seriously? When you are having a burger you want at least half a liter. The burger was ok, but not that spicy, it was a little bit too normal for me. There are better burger places. They have a great big menu which is an advantage compared to other burger places. The food takes forever to come. I won't go back here, only to try another location of this chain. read more

Had lunch there November 2012. I was a bit frustrated by the experience, because they are doing a lot of things right, but the devil is in the details... The menu features great combinations, including four imaginative veggie burgers. We had the portobello mushroom with mozzarella and pesto, and it was really wonderful We also had a lamb burger which should have been great, it looked good but I swear there was no seasoning in the meat whatsoever, which was a real shame. The tzatziki sauce which accompanied it was delicious, however. The onion rings were technically perfect, but again, the batter had been under seasoned. And the biggest let down were the fries, which were large chunky style, and tasted like frozen to me. I mean, that's just unforgivable, to have crappy fries at a gourmet burger place. The fries are almost as important as the burgers! I suggest they cut them thinner and learn to double fry them. I don't want to be completely negative, the decor and ambiance is upscale casual, and overall we had a good meal. But it could have been much better. read more

I've been here twice with my family. The first time was okay: the service was fine, burger was okay but not great. The second time was very bad. I asked for a medium rare burger and it was cold in the middle. The service was maybe the worst I'd ever experienced. The place was empty, but our waiter was no where to be found. He was playing sudoku on his phone the whole meal. We had to get up several times and go tell him we wanted to order drinks and extra onion rings. The onion rings were really worth getting twice, maybe the only great thing about this meal. When it came time to pay, we were again left waiting for close to 30 minutes before realising he was outside smoking with the other wait staff. Long story short, never going back to this restaurant. read more
