I have eaten at many restaurants in my life with varying degrees of satisfaction and horror, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review, which is saying something considering only two months ago I got food poisoning from a Taco Bell in my area and spent three solid hours vomiting and cursing whatever hell the bacteria crawled out of. With that said I have just returned from eating at one of the local Burger Kings with my girlfriend. Now for both of us it's been several years since we've been to a Burger King, and as it turns out, it'll be several more until we go again.
While we were staring at the menu trying to decide what to have, one of their portly night managers (at least I'm going to assume that he was a manager considering he was the only one there wearing a grease splattered tie) continued to badger us to make a decision. Now when I say this I don't mean that he continued to nicely ask if we're ready, that would be sensible and ok. No. This man took it upon himself to remind us (at 7pm) that they close at 10pm and that if he knew that we'd take so long to order that he'd have taken a nap. It was quite impressive really, it seemed to reflect a level of not caring that's usually reserved for internet flame wars.
Finally after ordering while trying to get my cup of water, the drink nozzle plopped right into my glass. I presented the cup to the manager who put on a rubber glove and placed the nozzle back onto the machine, which then dispensed water that tasted just like said rubber glove.
Finally we were able to eat our food which needless to say, tasted horrible. Flat tasteless buns and tiny shriveled beef patties that tasted of charcoal and spicy chicken sandwiches with the "spiciness" coming from what was clearly mayo, hot sauce, and Buffalo sauce mixed together. The food left us both feeling bloated and sick with an overpowering desire to find the nearest couch and never leave except to go to the bathroom for the inevitable diarrhea that we both now fear is coming.
We then came to the best part of the whole experience, which was leaving. To be honest the best part of the whole experience was a reminder why my girlfriend and I are trying to eat healthier. In fact, we've decided that if ever we feel like we're sick of eating healthy and want to give in to processed poison crap flavored to taste like an unwashed disgusting greasy grill, we know just where to go to remind us why we want to eat better and feel better. read more
