I had a Mexican Omelette on my first visit. It definitely needed salt, which was easy enough to add, but the creamy salsa on the outside with cheese on the inside was a little too rich for me. It was served with hash browns, which were slightly burned and dry and small pieces of toast with yummy strawberry jelly. At over $15, I felt it was over-priced. My friends said their Reuben was very good. Our group decided to go again the next day, and I ordered a vegetarian skillet. It was better than the omelette, but i have had much better elsewhere. In my opinion, the tastiest and most unique thing this restaurant has to offer are the popovers. Our server was friendly and was able to accommodate our large group's separate checks. I would consider coming here again if I'm ever in the area.

Legions have some pretty good food and fellowship. This location in Howard Lake is like many in small towns - it's a home base for locals who share the camaraderie of being in the service. But don't let the locals scare you off - they won't bite! This place has some good, no frills food options for a decent price. Various specials on certain days that make for an affordable meal for the family. Beer options are basic. Good bartenders and servers will take care of you promptly. The overall atmosphere is a basic bar with a quieter seating area in the back, so long as it is open. If you are into the nightlife side of things, there is live music most weekends that provides some nice music for those who like to dance around. The parking is decent with a fairly new lot, street parking, and a larger city lot across to the street to the west.

As per usual with this chain, the store was very clean, organized, and well-stocked. The restroom was very clean and they offered paper towels and hand dryers. I appreciate that because no one wants to touch a bathroom handle (you know some people don't wash their nasty hands!), so I depend on paper towels to open the door. I've never eaten a normal pizza, but I keep hearing Casey's has amazing pizza. You'll have to try that for yourself.
