My server, Amy, was very nice, gave good service, and recommended the country ham. The country ham is amazing. It's salt-cured ham, not the sweet kind. I ate very last piece. Eggs were standard. I also got grits, because "hey, they have grits!" (I'm not from the south so it's always a novelty for me). They were really nice, with a clean subtle flavor - way better than bland grits I've had at diners in the past. The highlight of my meal was the golden waffle, though! It's really nicely flavored with vanilla and there's got to be some almond extract in it too - cooked really well and crisp on the outside. I didn't expect to get such a favorful waffle at a chain restaurant, honestly. So, Huddle House has own me over. If I was passing though again, I'd go here.
