Sitting outside on a bench was a Ronald McDonald statue, casually posed with one leg crossed and his arm stretched across the back of the bench. I hadn't seen one of those in years. It instantly took me back to childhood -- a reminder of simpler road trips and the small details that made stops like this feel special. I previously gave this place a 1/5 review for numerous issues which overlapped with my personal problems, and I understand it wasn't justified. Personal issues do not need to reflect upon the reception and reputation of restaurants. But now, I've realized this place is actually great largely because of the taste of their udon noodles. It's told me that no matter what happens, something must exist to satisfy our personal desires, wishes, etc.. Even though they didn't have sushi when I was there and I got upset over it, I got something different which tasted awesome, and it told me that there will always be something to keep us satisfied. I was ignorant of this philosophy back then when my demons got the better of me 9 months ago, but going forward, it helped me acknowledge expectations for visits to restaurants, and how to satisfy needs with replacement foods.
