I am not from the Soo, but I occasionally pass through town on my way east. I have always heard good things about burger don. So I finally got a chance to try it for myself. The restaurant inside is nothing special. And a little on the small side. There is one long bar in front of you when you walk in the door and maybe 5 or 6 tables to either side of it. As the name suggests, their main entity is burgers. But they do have some salads, tacos, and a few other menu items. They do have pre-made burger options, but they also have create your own burgers. That is the route I decided to go. The burgers can be made with beef, fish, or crispy chicken. I chose the crispy chicken with a few other toppings. And onion rings as my side. My meal was very tasty! And it also came with a dipping sauce for your side, which was also very tasty! I later found out that the dipping sauce was a housemade bacon aioli. As great as the meal was, I simply could not finish it. I had a handful of onion rings left and I just couldn't do it. And it's not often that I don't finish a meal. My taste buds definitely enjoyed the food and I feel like I got a really good value for what I paid. I would not hesitate to eat here again when i'm back in town. read more

Lines were long and I saw people getting turned away because there weren't enough tables. From that kind of crowd, I thought to do take-out because they also have a great family combo for 4. You get 4 burgers and a whole box of fries, why not? After a taste of our food, I have to say that it is average at most. The burger severely needed some kind of seasoning. The fries were ok but really nothing to take home. I really couldn't connect the reviews with the food. It just seemed to fall short. Maybe it was how busy the restaurant was? I could bathe in it! The fried pickles are good, but basic. However, the burger may be the best I've ever had. We all had the Don burger, which is pretty much a bacon double cheeseburger. But the meat was cooked perfectly, the bun was so soft, but it didn't fall apart, and the bacon was just enough. Top all that off with bacon aoli, tomato and lettuce - perfection! We had both sweet potato and regular fries, which were very good - especially dipped in the bacon aoli. The atmosphere isn't what you would think when looking at the exterior. It's dark and cozy, but somehow not oppressive. The staff is friendly and laid back in a cool sort of way. Lots of good beer on tap. My husband and I had dinner here and we loved it. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and prices were reasonable. I had the fish tacos $12.95. I love that you have a choice of hard shell, soft shell or lettuce leaf for your taco. I chose the lettuce (it's romaine). You also get a choice of side: fries, onion rings or a salad. And if you chose a salad you can have chef, Caesar, Greek, taco or spinach. I got the spinach salad. I really love choices, so I loved it. The tacos were huge and overflowing with toppings. The whitefish was lightly dusted then fried. There was a lot of fish! The tacos also had cabbage slaw, pico de Gallo, cheese, avocado and lime jalapeño sour cream. There was a little too much sour cream for my liking, but other than that, the tacos were phenomenal. The spinach salad was equally delicious. It was baby spinach, tomatoes, red onions, strips of roasted red peppers, goat cheese, and walnuts. The dressing, which I got on the side, was a thick and sweet balsamic glaze. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. My husband had the Burger Sliders $14.95 and a side of fries $2.50. His sliders looked amazing. They were a Southern Fried Chicken Burger (which he loved and described as a chicken nugget burger), a Lamb Burger (which was his least favourite because he said the blue cheese was too overpowering), a Veggie Burger (which he said was ok) and the Don Burger (which was his favourite. It's the restaurant's signature burger). I had a few fries and they were pretty good. The decor is modern and funky. Service was friendly. The Burger Don just opened in May 2016. They are owned by the same people as Fratelli's Kitchen and Giovanni's. They have a small private parking lot, so there is free parking. read more

An easy going urban style diner with plenty of beer on draft, the Blue Jays on screen and of course their burger. I had a make your own burger with brioche, cheddar cheese and bacon. There are a ton of other toppings but I like to taste the actual beef and the Burger Don has fantastic beef patties. On the side I had an order of poutine and this didn't disappoint either. The fries were a nice proportion and they came with the burger all inclusive, and the burger had two beautifully cooked patties, and the bun was crisp on the outside and beautifully soft on the inside, it's like a burger lovers dream, the staff was extremely sweet, I had a younger gentleman with blonde hair, he was a fantastic server! The service is also insanely fast! We ordered, got served our drinks 2 minutes later, then within another 5 minutes we all got brought our food, even though the seats were all full and it was a busy night.
