I wish I'd read Lee's review before going and ordering the Gangnam Magnum pulled pork burger. I get excited about pulled pork, and when it's as convenient as the new Rundle Place, well that's extra exciting. The burger has kim chi, pulled pork, cucumber, and garlic aioli. The pulled pork was really bland, and I could barely taste the kim chi. It's not good to have kim chi completely overwhelm the taste of a dish, but you should at least know it's there. I won't be coming back anytime soon, but I'll be keen to check them out in a few months to see if they've found their feet. **UPDATE** I went back a little sooner than planned to try another one of their burgers. I'd seen a new review on here, and had a friend raving about them on Facebook. Maybe I'd struck out with the first burger? This time I went for a beef burger, with caramelised onion and blue cheese. The flavour combinations are great in concept. Every burger on the menu sounds delicious, and they have so much potential. Unfortunately in reality (both times for me at least) the flavours have been indistinguishable. My actual patty was pink all the way through, but wasn't succulent and juicy like I would have hoped. I also tried the poutine (my first poutine experience) and I was struggling to find something that sets it apart from regular chips and gravy. Sure there were pieces of squeaky cheese throughout it, but they didn't really add much to the dish. I'll have to bring down my poutine obsessed friends next time they're in Adelaide to see what they think. PROS: - The food here is obviously a lot healthier than at somewhere like McDonalds or Hungry Jacks. It's always refreshing to get a burger and not have grease seeping out of the packaging. - The burgers were at least filling both times. - There are obviously some people who love this place. CONS: - Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I'm yet to actually enjoy a meal here. Give them a go and make up your own mind, because they seem quite polarising. read more

Walked out of work having zero clue what I wanted to eat for lunch today. As I strolled through Rundle Mall I realised I had to pick up a couple of things from the Supermarket and Coles was on my way back to work. Since I'd been through the food mall a few times before I thought I'd try my luck amongst the throngs of lunchers gourmandising below Harry's. Actually in retrospect this is probably the reason why this food hall is here in the first place. Well played, urban planners. Well played. I've eaten at Burger Addiction (BA) once before and although I liked the burger, I thought the price was too high for a quick lunch on the run. I scoured the menu board for something that looked like it'd satisfy my thoughtless stomach today and I was happy with what I chose. The Beef, cheese and mushroom jobby (Irresistable bliss they call it - there are a lot of different names for each of the burgers. I won't spoil the fun here) was right on. *Inciteful commentary on french breads* It's easy to sell food if you just add sugar and that's how I feel about brioche sometimes. This BA roll was just a straight up semi crunchy white treat, no overload of sugar like a brioche. Enough said. Love your work BA. All the ingredients in the burger were the proper texture and amount and once I'd plowed through half of the poutine I could only just finish the burger. Poutine is such a decadent treat. I've eaten it twice in 2 months now and I think I need to take a break for a year or so. It is much more of either a hangover food (which I am not today) or a Happy Canada Day sort of food. Or, a hands in there like you just don't care sort of food. Overall, I felt much more satisfied with the value for money at BA than last time. Plus the service came with a smile and it was quick. It's partly due to mixed reviews here (but mostly due to being very hungry, craving a burger and unable to find the Burger Theory truck) that I thought I'd brave the appalling new Rundle Place 'shopping experience' and try Burger Addiction. First impressions, tick - not too busy and an interesting range of products. If I go back again I'll certainly try the pulled pork but today was always going to be about a wholesome marriage of beef and bread. Seemed to be quite a few people waiting for orders so I made a point of asking what the waiting time was. I was told 5 - 10 minutes, it was 9 minutes, so that gets a tick as well. I went for one of the combo deals - burger, chips and a drink for $15 which rapidly became $17 when I chose a 'premium' drink, an organic ginger beer (yes, I know, I hate myself as well). For the burger I went with (quoting directly from the menu here): "Bacon! Beef patty, lots of bacon, sliced tomato, mesclun greens and roasted garlic aioli". Second Impression, another tick. Hopefully I've figured out the technology to attach a photo to this. It's all nicely presented and, a big plus, it is immediately obvious that the chips have actually been potatoes at some point very recently. So, on to the food itself. The chips do not disappoint, they are as good as they look, well seasoned and a little over-cooked, just how I like them. On to the burger itself. A mixed result here, let's take it apart and work through it. The Bun. A brave decision minister (sorry for anyone not getting the Yes, Minister reference...). When the rest of the world is going brioche, turkish bread or other exotics, we've opted here for a simple, crusty white bread roll. Brave or dumb? You make the call; me? I think brioche and burgers are a dream team and I think it would work better here. The Salad stuff. Mesclun greens? So, a statement of simplicity with the bun and then the heights of pretentiousness with the salad - it's two bits of lollo rosso and a couple of mixed leaves for heaven's sake. Add two slices of anonymous tomato and that's it. Onions are a dollar extra. The Dressing. Roasted garlic aioli. Hmmm, I don't think anyone will be complaining about my garlic breath this afternoon. But, although bland, it worked well complementing the burger rather than overpowering it in the way that Burger Theory's 'Truck Sauce' can if they're having one of their over-generous days. The Bacon. 'Lot's of bacon' was actually two slices of fairly thin short-back. Nicely cooked, so above average but, as Australia is proud to be the producer of the worst bacon in the world, the bar is not set that high. It gets an 'OK' The Beef. Leaving the main attraction to last of course. The raw materials are good, I can taste that, just. It's a nice bit of cow. But, and it's a big but, this is not how to present a burger - Just 8mm thick and over-cooked. A huge shame, this could easily have been so much better. So to sum up... Great chips Good presentation Reasonable waiting time Boring burger - too thin to start off with and then ruined on the grill Over-priced for what you get Will I go back? Possibly but unlikely and certainly not if Burger Theory is parked in the neighborhood. read more

For me, food court food comes down to four key factors (in descending order of importance) * Speed * Price * Taste * Health Admittedly I showed up to Burger Addiction a little after the lunchtime rush, but I must say when my "Redemption Nom" chicken burger showed up just a few short minutes after I ordered I decided it would be best to check that it was actually cooked... Thankfully it was, because well, we all know not to eat raw chicken. So they got a tick on speed. Price wasn't so good, I paid $17 for a burger, chips and OJ. Serving sizes were good for the food, but the drink was tiny. Since I ordered a chicken burger, there is a fair chance no-one cares what I think. But I did enjoy it, so a tick for taste. Nice to have rosemary on the chips too, rather than just salt. Lets be honest, if people really cared about health, KFC wouldn't have the longest line in pretty much any food court. But at least this burger wasn't fried. So anyway, mostly good except for price, which is at the high end of the current gourmet burger trend (and way too high for a food court). Now I'm no Matt Preston, in either looks or credentials but well, I am a lover of pork, and pulled pork burgers, and think having tried way too many over the years I am at least qualified to recognise a good and a bad one, well i would like to think so, again everyone has an opinion, and this just mine. I am hesitant to give my first score of 2 stars, and the only reason it was not a one, is because maybe, just maybe the chips saved the score. With the new Rundle Place food court being open for a while now, most vendors have had ample time to get it right. When you sell one thing and one things only, you need to be a master of it, and well for me Burger Addiction has not hit the mark with their pulled pork burger, here's why! Burger - Pulled Pork - Dreams of Wichita, not sure about the dream, I wont be dreaming of it. With a promise of slow cooked pork, whiskey BBQ sauce, all looked more than promising. From the first bite, I was missing the pork taste, 3 bites later I hit my first mouthful of Pork.......I could deal with this, maybe if the pork was outstanding. But far from it, it was chunky, dry, tasteless, missing seasoning and really lacked any hint of being slow cooked, more like well over cooked, maybe thats why they could not pull it apart in the slithers that it should be. Chips - as mentioned this was the saving of an even lower score, a unique take on what looks like large potatoes just cut and fried, great idea. They had a slight crunch, soft inside and a good kick of salt, what you would expect from a good homestyle chip. Overall, I am one for a fair go, although I am loathed to try going back again given lunch was, well expensive for a food court, at $17, which included Burger, Chips and a dipping sauce it really needed to hit the spot, and for me I can't see myself paying another 17 to be disappointed and unsatisfied again. With a good looking shop front for me that's about where it stopped. The last thing I will say, it was busy, ok middle of lunch time, and maybe many people are simply looking for a burger alternative in the middle of the city, but with most people being on time restraints, fortunately for me this isn't the case, I don't think and or like waiting 16 minutes for a fast food outlet to serve me their food at lunch time, no matter how busy they maybe. NOTE: Take cash, no EFTPOS, really, 2013 people, get a machine! I will seek to find another good pulled pork burger and report any of my findings, until then, happy porking! read more

Burger Addiction actually overcomes the disadvantage of being in a shopping centre food hall. While Rundle Place has to be Adelaide's most awful shopping centre, Burger Addiction provides some small redemption. The burgers are well sized and well balanced, while the old style chips are crisp and hearty. Oddly enough, the two best burgers are the ones named after Soul Coughing songs. Try those. Chips with cheese and gravy are a Sunday staple in country Victoria, but I've not seen any stores offering them in Adelaide. This week I noticed someone eating them in from Burger Addiction in Rundle Plaza and decided to try them myself. They. Were. Delicious. The chips would be SO GOOD by themselves, but the stringy melted cheese and yummer gravy just made them more delicious. The only downside? The cost. A small serve is $7 (which in country Vic. would get you a big box, a drink and a pet fish) but for a now and then treat I will part with the monies. My belly is feeling very satisfied. read more

If you are going there, get the chips and a burger, or like if you're super duper rich, get everything. If you want to delete things from your burger, the staff are always a treat and will do it without a single hint of attitude. The chips. Probably the best hot chips I've ever had in my entire life. You can tell that they are freshly cooked and organic, but they don't taste organic. They taste like McDonalds chips - but the good kind of McDonalds chips. Please go there if you are hungry and have a lot of money to spare. If you have money, because it isn't a budget eatery, please go there. Chips are $7 for a large one. My mouth began to water as I read the description of the Jack's Burger; Beef patty, whiskey BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, sliced tomato, mesclun greens and chipotle aioli. BBQ sauce and caramelised onion tick all of the boxes for me so I was sold. It was around 8 on a Friday night and I wasn't starving so I just ordered a burger (no fries) and although the price seemed steep (considering it's 'just a food court') I was willing to pay - I've certainly paid more than $10.90 for a burger in my time! Service was quick (the food court was pretty dead) and the burger was fresh cooked and tasty! I counted THREE slices of cheese and I'm not sure if it was a mistake but I wasn't complaining! The salad in the burger was super fresh, while the the burger was nice and thick, featuring sauce with plenty of flavour. The bun was a bit thick and bland for my liking but otherwise it was an all round pleasant burger experience! I'd like to come back and try other burgers on the menu and although they don't live up to some of the other amazing joints around town, it certainly wasn't a bad burger choice!!! read more

I ordered the Gangnam Burger today and I must say I am a little disappointed for the people who have added their reviews before me coz I thought that it was a GREAT burger. My burger was so juicy that it was dripping from the bottom as I held (hence why i am giving 4 stars). I thought it was very flavoursome and would definitely go back. The kimchi was new to me (not a fan) so I might say that I wont order that burger next time but I would definitely recommend it. I also very much liked the hand cut chips. I had to wait about 10 mins and the area was getting quite busy, overall no more than waiting for somewhere like Nandos. read more

Burger addiction was a pleasant surprise. Stumbled across it in the food court today and decided to give it a go. I got the Country Road burger combo (burger, drink and chips for $15). The burger was great, meat was moist and tasty, bacon was crisp, and the veggies were fresh. The burger was also huge, I couldn't finish mine (and believe me, I tried!). Great flavour combination. My only complaint would be that it was really messy, the aioli and caramelised onions mixed together and became really runny, it ended up all over my hands and one napkin wasn't enough to clean it up. The chips were nice, herb seasoning was good and they were crunchy. Burger Theory is still my favourite burger joint, but Burger Addiction is now a close second. I will definitely be back. read more

We went here today for lunch, after looking around the food court. After seeing. Burger we decided to try this place, and I am happy we did. I had the Wichita pulled pork burger, which was amazing. I added caramelised onions which really made it. The pork was soft and tasty, and the white bun was super tasty. My fiancé had a beef and bacon burger with added onions and he said it was great too. The chips were country style, similar to what I make at home, so I was happy. Overall, I'd definitely go back-for a food court meal, it was excellent! Great pub food standard. read more

I was reluctant to order a burger at lunchtime because I didn't want anything too heavy but I was pleasantly surprised by the chicken burger I ordered at Burger Addiction. The chicken was incredibly tender with rocket, pesto, HEAPS of avocado and tomato- the perfect combination and not greasy at all. It's a funky little burger place and I like the idea of the sturdy cardboard boxes- strong enough to withstand the journey in my handbag bag to work! Will definitely be going back... read more

My whole office is obsessed! I had a Country Beef burger for the first time today and it was delish! 8-10 minute wait but expected for quality. The buns were gourmet and the fillings plentiful.
