We can't recommend Theresa and BHI enough! We called after getting a quote and a date from a large, well-known CT inspector, with their only availability being the 10th and last day we had to do the inspection. When I called BHI, not only did she offer to come out anytime we needed (2 days later!), but on a Sunday, which was perfect for us and not even an option with other inspectors. Not to mention she beat the competitor's price by $200! The inspection itself was incredible. After having been present at numerous inspections in the past (done by the above mentioned large company typically used in CT) I thought I knew what to expect but I was so wrong. She was so thorough and her attention to detail was outstanding. She crawled through attic spaces and crawl spaces seemingly too small for a person to fit! Theresa looked at every single inch of the inside and out, and allowed my husband to follow along throughout, pointing out and explaining anything and everything she found as she found it. she was very patient and open, and answered all of our questions. If her actual performance during the entire inspection weren't enough, we were in for yet another surprise once we received the report. It came on time, within 24-hours of the inspection. It was 87 pages, which detailed absolutely everything she found from major defects to minor cosmetic issues, with every single item accompanied by multiple labelled photos. It was a very large property- over 3k sq. ft, 2 family home, and each section of the report detailed exactly where the issue was and with which unit with photos from multiple angles. If there was damage to floors or ceilings, she would go below and/or above to find the root cause, whether it be a leaky pipe or roofing issue. The report was color coded by level of importance, then a summarized list on the last few pages to make it even easier to understand. We weren't sure what to expect but we were more than impressed with the overall quality of the inspection and report. Her customer service was also out of this world- she was very patient with us answering any and all questions as they came up, and we had more than a few! We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a quality inspection. As first time home buyers we were very nervous about this process, but she really put our minds at ease and gave us a very detailed and clear picture of exactly what we were getting ourselves into, and the report is now an excellent tool to use during negotiations.
