It doesn't happen that often anymore that I have to get some money changed, as most of the time I simply take out cash at the cash machine when I get to my final destination. This time though, I'm travelling to a destination where I am advised to bring US dollars: 1) because the cash machine wouldn't be giving me a good conversion rate and 2) US Dollars are highly valued in this country.
So, I go to my local bank here on Baker Street, but they don't have enough US Dollars. The clerk leaned over the counter and in a soft voice she spoke to me about an exchange office a bit further up on Baker Street. She said that they have quite competitive rates.
And in fact they did: at the bank the rate was 1.59 and here at the exchange office they offered me 1.61! Done deal! read more
