The Boat Shop is the exception to my reluctance to make recommendations. This exception is not…read morebased on random experiences, rather a 20+ year history of having Rob fix all the stuff that naturally needs attention to a heavily used 29-year-old boat (1994 MasterCraft), AND our son's MasterCraft. For brevity, I'll simply provide a list of what I know about Rob: Tangibles: - Great mechanic - Knows boats - power, performance, history of quirks/tendencies - Dependable - what he commits to, he delivers Intangibles: - Memory (beyond boats) is uncanny - years ago I stopped saying, "you work on a lot of boats so I wouldn't expect you to remember..." I stopped because he remembers your name, boat and what he has done to it. - Knows the Lake - Very careful/mindful of your boat while it's in his care - ex: he takes off his shoes when in your boat. Who does that? - Honest/trustworthy - I don't know if it's instinctual or purposeful, but he gets it. The only way to be successful for as long as he has; ya gotta be honest & trustworthy.

Rob and his team are absolutely wonderful! He is honest and obviously knows his stuff - which I…read moredon't when it comes to boats, and the reason I will never go to anyone else! Rob obviously has a heart for helping people, and he's wonderful to work with. There have been multiple occasions where our boat had a problem and Rob solved it quickly, easily, and gave us multiple options to stay within our means. Some friends on another lake always joke that BOAT stands for "Break Out Another Thousand", but here at Lake Anna we get to say, "Bring On Another Thing to Rob and get it done RIGHT!"

Garrett's Marina is top notch; if you want to be treated like you are part of a family than come to…read moreGarrett's for your boating needs. Here's some background on our experience. My wife and I bought a boat from Louis and Sonia in spring 2019 and we are very thankful that we did. When we decided that we wanted to buy a boat, one of our requirements was to buy a boat from someone that we could trust and someone that would continue to be there for us after we bought a boat. Obviously buying the right type of boat was the most important, but since we are first time boaters this was important to us. One day my family decided that we check out key west boats at Garrett's. Up until this point we had been looking at every dealership in the area and wanted a center console boat, narrowed it down to a few models. We spent a entire day at the marina looking at boats, did a sea trial, and ended up buying a key west center console. During the entire sales process, Louis was a straight shooter. He went over everything about our boat, what we need and don't need and what not to waste our money on. The boat buying process was simple and Louis and Sonia took care of us during the entire process. The day we picked up our boat we did a sea trial and Louis went over everything about the boat. I felt comfortable and later that day we drove our boat out of the marina and continue to love our key west! I still call and email Louis all the time with questions and he promptly returns my phone calls, even after hours!!!! Highly recommend that you come to Garrett's for the following: buying boats, boat service needs, and boat storage. If you want to be treated like family than come to Garrett's.

I initially contacted them in November of 2024 about a boat they had listed. I did eventually purchase the boat in February 2025 as it was what I was looking for, but the entire purchase process was extremely challenging and filled with inconsistencies, half-truths and out-right lies. During the entire purchase process, I had done everything I could do to ensure a smooth, uneventful purchase, acting in good faith and performing all the due diligence I could to prevent surprises. This was not my first long distance purchase! I believe Oyster Cove Boatworks acted in bad faith, with dishonest intentions and in fact, deliberate misrepresentation, and manipulation of the facts. I reached out to the Oyster Cove Owner/President Chris Leigh and my Salesperson Laurence Ritter after the sale was finalized in regards to several concerns that I had. Over the course of 8 weeks and 8 emails, they never responded once. I think it goes to show what kind of business Chris runs when he does not have any interest in resolving a customer's concerns. I would steer clear of Oyster Cove and find a dealership that truly cares about its customers and holds itself to the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Oyster Cove, can you say you hold yourself to these key principles and values? Honesty, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, Transparency

I have brought my boat in for winterization for the past 3 years…read more Last year I don't think they actually did the full service. In April when I took the boat out I started having fuel related problems. Issues pointed to the VST filter. They quoted me 1200 to repair because it was an 8 hour job. I spoke with another Mechanic and he fixed it in 2 hours for 250 plus parts. His comment was the I needed to stabilize the fuel when I winterize. I just winterized for this year. I put 40 hours on the engine. My mechanic doesn't think they replaced the oil last year. He thinks they just spun a new filter on and charged me for full service. Lesson is you can't trust anyone and if you do trust you still need to verify .
