    Margarita slice and meatball veggie
    Bill K.

Stopped by for lunch after hiking Torrey Pines, what a beautiful hike and to top it off we got to see part of the Torrey Pines golf course. I consider myself to be somewhat of a pizza snob and I have to say this was some of the best pizza I have ever had. If you like a thin crust pizza that stands up well I think you will love this pizza. My wife and I had the two slice special along with two garlic rolls. I had a margarita slice which was one of the best I have ever had and the second slice was meatball and a few veggies, outstanding. The garlic rolls were on the dense side but when you dip them in the marinara sauce it was perfection. We ordered a couple to go to enjoy later

We came here craving thin crust pizza and decided to try an 18" pie, half Hawaiian and half eggplant. We also subbed ham for pepperoni. The flavors were good overall, and we do like their thin crust style. Unfortunately, the bottom of the pizza was pretty burnt, which gave it a bitter taste and took away from the experience. That was a bit disappointing, especially since the toppings themselves were enjoyable. Love that they have seatings inside and outside. There is also a little bar station outside. The view is amazing! On a positive note, the staffs were very friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. I'd be open to giving this place another try, hoping the crust comes out better next time.

I may have a new favorite pizza place, and this is it. I've eaten here twice in the past few weeks, and both times, the pizza, garlic knots, and service have been exceptional. The red veggie pizza is delicious!

I got the chorizo pizza-- it had sliced of jalapeño, some red onion, and crumbled chorizo that got all crispy ... so good! But not as good as my favorite the Buffalo chicken & ranch. It was nice for a change of taste. I don't think you can go wrong with any slice you choose. The pizzas are thin and crispy, with a good chew in the crust. They make them fresh in the early morning & yeah it sits in the case -- but they heat it up very well for you. It's not overly cooked or worse, cold! The slices are fairly priced and there's lots of seating available. Many people opt to sit outside in the sunshine, rather than inside. Service was good, the worker was kind and even brought the pizza out to our table.

This spot in Del Mar was such a good find!! The whole place has a really nice coastal feel to it, but still feels elevated and put together. One of the first things that stood out to me was the outdoor bar area. It has granite countertops that looked super nice, and with the afternoon sun hitting them, it gave the whole space a really clean, high-end look. Inside is really nice too. They have big windows that let in a ton of natural light, which makes the whole place feel bright, open, and welcoming. Outside might have been my favorite part though. The seating area overlooks the beach and the marsh that connects to the ocean, so the view is honestly hard to beat. They also have these red umbrellas outside that add a really nice pop visually, and the landscaping is done really well too, which ties the whole outdoor space together. Food wise, the pizza was delicious. I got the buffalo pizza and the chicken bacon ranch pizza, and both were really solid. My favorite if the two was the CBR. Definitely the kind of place where the food matches the setting. The pricing was also pretty reasonable, which made the experience even better. The service was great too. Everyone there was really nice, friendly, and easygoing, which made the whole vibe even better. This feels like the perfect spot to hit after a surf session, a beach day, or even a hike around the area. You get the best of both worlds, plenty of sun and that outdoor SoCal feel, but also enough shade where you can actually relax and enjoy being outside without cooking in the sun. Overall, really good food, really nice atmosphere, great service, and an awesome location. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Came here after we attempted to hike Torrey pines but sadly it was closed. We were hungry and came here for lunch. Two small one year children and four hungry adults walk in and find seating outside. You order inside and they bring the food out to you. Weirdly, I didn't get a number or anything after I placed my order for pizza, garlic knots, and antipasto salad. They had a deal for 6 breadsticks for $7 otherwise it was $1.50 each. I was hoping to get the garlic knots earlier bc I was so hungry. I thought they were just going to grab it from the display window and bring it out. It ended up what felt like forever (realistically like 10 min lol) when they heated it up and give us marinara sauce to dip it in. It was so garlicky and delicious. I'm a garlic girl and I approve! We devoured the knots while we waited for the pizza. I was obviously pretty hungry otherwise I would have remembered to take a photo of the food. Oops. I didn't try the antipasto salad but my crew said it was good. I'm personally not a fan of iceberg lettuce. The pizza we ordered was a large half margarita and half Miramar. The pizza hit the spot. The crust wasn't too doughy and had a good amount of crunch to it. My favorite was the Miramar. The Gorgonzola cheese paired well with bacon. It was just what we needed to revive ourselves. We all took a long nap after from the food coma. I'm glad I got to try this spot.

Food was a 5 star - pizza and mozzarella sticks were so fresh & delicious. Staff was great. Seating was a little crammed and parking wasn't easy, so I rated it a 4 star overall. I would come back for the food, but I just didn't like the location.

Went here after a beach day with my daughter & it did not disappoint. Hit the pizza craving spot perfectly, friendly staff, light beachy ambience thats very clean and more spacious than I expected. Grazie, e sato deliciozo Buonasera!

I wasn't expecting much but we were starving and needed to grab a quick bite while waiting for coffee. The pizza by the slice is AMAZING. Got the chorizo with jalapeño and wow. The crust is perfectly thin without being too thin and the ingredients are well balanced. Ample seating inside and outside. Street parking and a small parking area in the back. Service is friendly.

As a born, bred and buttered New Yorker I have a p a l a t e for my pizza! This has been the ultimate conquest for me as a new Californian. I find myself getting almost there. Thankful for the kind citizen I struck up a convo with at the Cardiff farmers market who found out I was from upstate NY and asked me if I found good pizza here and recommended this place- NYers always looking out for one another. It's a ways away but if I was in the area I'd def pop in for a slice and a drink. Not sure about parking but looks like only street parking and it's busy. Small dining area but seemed to turnover quickly- love the patio area with seats and a full bar. The pizza was tasty. I'd be curious to try their famous crime scene slice. The garlic knots were also good and large. It was nice to have the salad options to feel like I had a balance meal. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Oh and the price point is really good! About $13 for that and you could easily split between 2.

The deals they have on slides is great! Of course there's salad and some desserts as well to give a try. Honestly the standout star is the pizza. Fair warning, the street parking can get busy so recommend biking here to save some time and work off the calories on the uphill. There are adult beverages, but not the most massive selection. Plenty got ensure you'll have a good time. You would have a hard time going wrong here. The garlic knots are good too, but best served hot.

We always order delivery and tonight we tried dining in and had such an amazing experience! The entire staff was nice, welcoming and personable. We were able to bring our dogs and enjoy a slice and beer on the patio! Such chill vibes, and of course amazing pizza. The verde being my favorite. Also, LOVED Nickelodeon was on the tv, gave such a fun experience and memory unlocked! New weekday spot for us now, see you next time!

    Garlic Knots: just say yes!

This pizza + Italian food spot is the absolute bomb. My friend and I stopped in for a quick bite after a long, long walk on the beach. Awesome day! The pizza is amazing, the service is exceptional and the views are memorable and truly nice and relaxing to take in. If you stop in at Buonasera you can also grab a coffee to the right or get a taco on the left at the neighboring businesses. The architecture and overall building design was executed quite well and the walkways adjoining the three spots to dine was really well thought out. We were going on for sushi in La Jolla but couldn't help but sample one of their garlic knots, and a slice. My friend doesn't eat meat so they were so accommodating to actually line one half with my pepperoni! Excellent. I had a beer and she had some wine. Two suggestions: please add sour beers to your list. Everything is IPA. IPA, IPA, HAZY IPA. ; [ Sours were the very first beer style ever invented! They go well with food, so bring some in please! Also, the wine selection, kinda lacking big time here and they have nothing that sparkles, as in champagne. Yes, it is that kind of place because we are on the coast and maybe want to sip some bubbly to salute to the sun as she sails to the other side of the world over night...... Highly recommend!! Please offer the up and coming craze for people who know wine: VERMENTINO from Sargegna AKA Sardinia and it is also found in Tuscany. If you like Sauvignon Blanc, you will LOVE Vermentino.

The ambiance at the bar was relaxed, with a warm, social energy that made it feel like a great after work spot. The space felt inviting overall, although seating choice does matter depending on the time of day. We ordered the HH $10 Sicilian meatballs, the $12 cacio e pepe arancini, and the $10 chicken pesto garlic knot sliders. My personal standouts were definitely the arancini and the meatballs. Both had great flavor and texture, and I would happily reorder them again. Service was decent, especially considering we were sitting at the bar. One small note is that I would recommend sitting facing the back if possible, as the sun came in pretty directly and made it a bit bright and uncomfortable at times. Overall, it was a solid happy hour experience with a nice atmosphere, good value, and a few standout dishes I would come back for.

Which is what brought us to Beeside Balcony in Del Mar during the 1st SDRW of 2026. We had Saturday night reservations & got into town early with some time to kill. We found nearby street parking fairly easily. The hostess was able to quickly accommodate us with a table despite our early arrival. Indoor dining space is minimal. But as an upstairs restaurant with "Balcony" literally in its name, the outdoor patio is where you want to be. Our server was a inconsistent on attentiveness & was slow to warm up, though she was quite personable later in the meal. Along with all of the al fresco charm dining on the balcony offered, there was also a curious & less desirable element of the ambiance. During our meal, someone went around shooting pics/ videos for social media. It felt distracting & intrusive. While the SDRW menu was what brought us here, we opted for the Chef's menu after looking over all the options. I ordered the Salmon Croquette/ Denver Steak/ Churros. She ordered Cioppino Soup/ Barramundi/ S'More Cake. Although the pacing of our courses from the kitchen was uneven, most of what we had was good to great to wonderful. Sharing tastes of our dishes with each other, the 1 egregious miss for me was the Cioppino Soup. The seafood in it was good. But that broth was not. Aside from that, the Salmon Croquette & the Barramundi were delicious. The Denver Steak was a revelation. I'd never heard of this cut before, so I looked it up. Truly, a bang for the buck all star. & prepared perfectly here with a fantastic chimichurri. For our desserts, my Churros were good but not anything to get particularly excited about. Now, on the other hand, that S'More Cake? Wow. insanely indulgent with an ooey-gooey center. I honestly can't think of a better way to end a meal. Overall, the ambiance, service, & food all had highs & lows. Collectively, though, the sum total of the experience was pleasant enough that I would be interested in coming back. My threshold for 4 stars is if I'd come back. So, 4 stars it is.

This review applies only to my recent happy hour. The HH runs until 5:30 in the restaurant, 7 at the bar, and the happy hour menu has a more extensive selection of food and cocktails than most places. Decor is old school Rat Pack style with lively music playing throughout the place. Their drinks and food were a mixed bag, but mostly disappointing. Pros: Cocktails there are a respectable size. Not huge, but on the generous side. Mussels and clams are fresh and cooked properly, and therefore tender. I had asked that the toast served with them be dry with no oil. Although our server assured me that they never put anything on the toast, it arrived with a slight slathering of something on it. The broth that the shellfish is flavorful and light. A delightful dish. Also, blue cheese stuffed olives are available as a martini garnish, an item not found everywhere. Cons: My husband ordered a "Vodka martini, extra dry, with just a whisper of vermouth". It arrived looking like a glass of golden colored liquid, so he sent it back telling the sever that it contained much too much vermouth. The second one was better, but still too much vermouth and so to sweet. My Negroni, up arrived with a large ice cube in it. The mini lasagna has shrunk to micro size. It's about 1/3 the size of the mini I remember from some years ago. I know well that prices have increased everywhere, but this is extreme even so.

The meatballs are rich and flavorful without being heavy, and the Margherita is simple, balanced, and exactly what it should be. My wife ordered the Marinara (vegan, $15.50) and honestly couldn't even tell it was vegan, which says a lot. Super satisfying and full of flavor. It's a little on the pricey side, but the quality makes it worth it every time. This is one of those places that never misses.

($21) Tagliata Rucola (5/5) -- One of my favorite ways to have steak ... a Tuscan-style New York strip steak. It was grilled rare (like i requested) and served sliced over a bed of arugula and cherry tomates, topped with aged Parmigiano Reggiano and a balsamic glaze. Perfetto! ($37) We haven't tried their pizza yet. WINE (4/5) The wine list is a respectable representation of Italian wines. We've ordered wines by the glass, each of which was very good. SERVICE (4/5) Our servers have been very pleasant and helpful. AMBIANCE (3/5) The restaurant itself is casual and decorated very nicely with a contemporary look and feel. Loudness of Sky Deck detracts from the dining experience.
