They have a wide range of books, fiction and non-fiction, magazines and periodicals and a great children's section part of which is shaped like a train. You can also borrow VCRs and DVD for a small fee. There's always an interesting display of books when you enter themed around some topical subject of that week and also a 'recommended' section featuring the staff's favourite books. Upstairs there's a full IT suite where you can surf the internet etc. An excellent library staffed by friendly, helpful people. You can also access all the libraries services online which makes checking the catalogue, reserving books and renewing those you've borrowed very easy.

She didn't realise that the man she was making fun of in front of me was actually my brother. He was a regular user of the library and usually went in once a week with a carer. I happened to be in with him on this day and was completely appalled. I made a complaint to the district manager but was ignored. I made a public complaint on their Facebook page and it was just deleted. I'm hoping this acts as a warning to others who use their services. This woman should be fired and has no business working in a public library.

Within the main building there is a completely seperate area for children which is seperated by a door and here they have story-telling sessions etc at pre-planned times. There are childrens chairs provided and plenty of books, videos and dvd's for the younger librarian. Within the main area there are computers for internet access and a wealth of books - some books are upstairs so disabled access could be difficult. The library also has a large notice board for local events/childminers etc and there are plenty of leaflets around the library telling of local events and any information that could be relevant to residents.

We did not sign up for cards, and therefor did not get to explore the rooms or stacks, but we did enjoy our walk around. During college (as a history major), it was frequently joked that you haven't really researched in a library if you haven't wound up making out in the stacks... well, after a day of research, I enjoyed some fun pictures and 'making out' with my husband, making this a thoroughly educational stop in our London adventure.

Here comes bias-city…read more Imperial College is a fantastic place to study, the faculty here are top notch, and the number of societies and amount of activities you can get involved with endless. For a university dedicated to science, technology and medicine, students here are surprisingly gifted in the arts (we've got several orchestras and choirs, as well as the main college orchestra which won the competition for the best University Orchestra in 2008) and sports. Located in South Kensington but with campuses around Hammersmith, Paddington, Chelsea and White City there's loads of things to do, and easy access to the rest of London for nights out. And the campuses themselves look great. Our union has vastly improved, and is cheap (of course) which makes up for the house prices in London. And you get to graduate in the Royal Albert Hall. Bonus. But then, like others here, I would say that!

I only live around the corner from this Camden library branch, which is Holly Lodge. And even up to this day, I will always use the services at Highgate Library, for hiring out DVDs, PC printing and the photo copy machine. And I even reserve books and DVD from Highgate Library. Highgate Library is literally right next door to Highgate Cemetery, the place of Karl Marx's tomb.

Only members of the University of Cambridge and Academic staff and research students from other universities can use it. Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from other UK universities can apply to access the Library for reference during Cambridge vacations. Even if you can't get in, it is worth having a wonder round the site to be impressed by the sheer size of it. And why not keep walking and have a look around the Sidgwick site of the University of Cambridge - home to the Arts Faculties of the University.
