Ordered two shrimp Poboys and a burger. While my Poboy actually tasted okay my daughter's had hair in it. So when she returned it and the cook said "that ain't no hair!" The person that took the order asked my daughter to point it out. Why would she lie about something like this? We didn't even leave the shop before she noticed the hair. At first she was going to ask them to remake it, but after the very poor customer support from the "cook" we just got a refund for that sandwich. Very poor actions on the "cooks" part and will never visit Bernice's because of this. Again I do not like to give negative reviews, but this was really needed just based on the "cooks" comment. I would like to add that my Poboy and the burger was tasty. I just had issues with the service "cook". UPDATE!!! Within three hours after eating my shrimp Poboy I was sick for almost a whole day and that was the only thing that I ate.

I ordered one of the Verona specials ( $22.00): the shrimp and ravioli dish (cheese ravioli in a cream sauce with sautéed shrimp, sun‑dried tomatoes, and asparagus). Compared to my meal from two years ago, this was a huge improvement. I'm not sure if they have a new chef or if the previous one has simply stepped up their game, but whatever changed, it worked. The food came out nice and hot, and everything was on point. My waitress was engaging and attentive without being overbearing, which made the experience even better. Total for meal including tip was $38.

I got the special of the day which was baked chicken with rice and gravy and two sides. They guy serving was super sweet to explain to me the ordering process and I had a great conversation with the woman in line before me who comes every week for the Wednesday special. For my sides, I chose the greens and mashed potatoes. Even though I got two starches, it was worth it because the mashed potatoes and gravy were worth having as a main dish! I loved the greens, too, especially since they had all the hot sauce and peppers and vinegar choices you could want. The chicken was fork tender and I left nothing on the plate. I love that they provide each guest a little wrapped package of cornbread and iced cake of the day, too. I will definitely be stopping at Pamela's any time I'm in town.

We both felt really heavy afterward, and my mom even felt sick after eating there. It was just basic diner food and a bit overpriced for something you can get almost anywhere else. However, the cake that comes with the cornbread was my favorite part. SERVICE: The service was fine. It had more of a cafeteria-style vibe, so there isn't much to say about it. AMBIANCE: The inside felt very run down. The bar wasn't even finished and didn't look like it was ever used. Overall, it had a very hole-in-the-wall feel.

So, I didnt even need a menu... my mind was made up. We ordered a margarita each, some queso con chorizo, and our entrees. The salsa and chips were tasty, the cheese was a bit thin - but delicious. My carnitas was very well prepared, tasty, and the roasted jalapeno was a nice addition. My fiance had a carnitas burrito and she also enjoyed it. She wasnt the biggest fan of the verde sauce - but that isnt unusual for her. Service was quick, food was good, we will likely not be back around the area anytime soon. But it would be a great place to come back if we are near any time in the coming years...

When my husband opened his container, I almost didn't recognized it. It looked like steam fajitas. We were expecting grilled meat. This looked like strips of steak that came out of a pressure cooker. It also had way too many onions and bell peppers. It was sitting in a pool of gravy and grease, heavy on the grease. Only 3 tortillas came with it. My Birria tacos had good flavor, but heavy on the grease, same with the the consume on the side. It was like a little cup of gravy with pieces of beef and heavy on the grease. The lime that was in my container had absolutely no juice, as if it came out of the oven or had been used already.
