Especially if you are into wooden furniture. Some of their wooden items are just stunning. They have some great kids beds in here like the fire engine one for boys or a beautiful Royal Princess Carriage for a little girl. It would have to make you feel like Cinderella in this bed. Most of their range of lounges did not really appeal to me at all though. I did like some of their table and chair sets, especially the good range of extension tables they have available, which are harder to find in some other stores. Here they have a choice of about half a dozen or so. They do have an ok online presence but you really need to go there, plus there is no pricing online. So just go and have a browse.

As long as we stick with it I think it'll make our progress easier, just need to find the best of both our worlds, hubbies and mine. The sales assistant was the only person in the shop and she had to go from one customer to the next, think at least two staff should have been present for two reasons, customer assitance and the other security. Hubby and I sat on the first bed we noticed and it turned out to be a memory foam mattress, and as my son put it previously 'it feels like lying on a bed of marshmallows'..he's not half wrong because I imagine it would be a bit like that, he,he,he. Next was a normal sprung mattress and that didn't feel right, lastly a latex mattress which felt really good but maybe a little too soft even though it was labelled as medium density. Price wise too much, long single $1200 and as we were wanting two to make up a King Size = $2400, then we needed a base it was just too much. They make their own beds and have been manufacturing since the 1800's, being a family business which is great. But unfortunately I don't think we'll be buying from here as what we wanted cost too much but there is a good range on display and the service is very good.

Not when I bought one, years back when I needed one after moving to a house with no built ins, for around $400 from a friend for a massive wardrobe, 2 dressing tables and 2 bedside tables. I realise it was second hand but it is still fantastic, has barely any marks and is solidly built. So even if I was going to buy good I would most likely check out second hand places and the likes rather than go here. Just not really my style of shop, even though it may suit plenty of others and does have nice stuff to buy.

Many of the items on offer in the factory outlet are way cheaper than prices you would pay in department stores. Stock includes towels, sheets, quilts and quilt covers, pillows and pillow cases, blankets and mattress protectors. We all spend so much money on mattresses and bedding these days it seems a crime not to decorate those items with equally luxurious coverings. And when it comes to your bathroom, is it ever possible to have enough towels? Look in my linen press and the answer is clearly no. A lot of stock in the Sheridan Factory outlet is discontinued stock or items that are out of season. They also have a selection of production samples that are just that little bit different from what's on offer in the other retail outlets. Glen Osmond Road used to be the mecca for factory outlet shops before the advent of Harbour Town near the airport but these days everyone has moved and the Sheridan Factory Outlet is actually one of the few discount shops that remains there. The Eastwood shop is a smallish shop but well worth a visit if you're looking for a bargain.

Sheridan is one of the best brands of bedding available and is a 100% Australian owned manufacturer, which is great to know as they are few and far between. If someone gave me a second rate item and a first grade product, quite frankly I couldn't tell the difference, except the price is a dead giveaway. I'll buy a Sheridan second any day over first grade at double the price and still get years of wear out of set of bed sheets. Besides bed sheets, there are towels, throws, accessories, robes, underlays and more at excellent prices. When purchasing a gift, you should consider visiting a Sheridan factory outlet...they'll never know! The factory seconds outlet at Glen Osmond Road also has a shop in the Harbortown complex at the airport and both stores have great displays, are well stocked and have friendly staff.

This is a family owned business that's been in operation for four decades. As well as pre-loved items, they also make and sell their own pine furniture. Everything is locally made and they can custom build to your design. There are actually two arms to this business - one part of the shop is the Disposals area and the other is called Mr Bookcases. If you're looking for something to sleep on, something to sit on or something to hang on your wall and you don't want to spend a lot of money, you may just find what you're looking for at Unley Disposals. The shop itself is pretty hard to miss but I always look for the dummy soldier in his army greens out the front.

With a warehouse layout and generous floor space, A-Mart has an excellent range of furnitures from bedroom range, lounge, dining to outdoor. I last shopped here when I had to upgrade the kids mattresses, they were reasonably priced compared to the giant retailers. They also do sales and promos which are worth looking at.

Before that Super A-Mart was all about sport. Anyway, this one has some great deals on anything you may need for the house. They also have some amazing package deals. So check them out if you are renovating or moving our of home. They recently had a 10 piece package with everything you need for lounge and dining rooms for under $1000. If you want something a little nicer and and with more items for just over $4000 you can get a 21 piece package that basically covers everything you need for dining, lounge, master bedroom and study / computer area.

It was an epic distance to travel for us but after doing my research online for a latex mattress this seemed like a good place to visit....Pooraka here we come! Town and Country make and sell either 100% pure Dunlop Australian and New Zealand Latex or a combination of Latex and Viscoflex Memory Foam top mattresses. They also have a range of flexible slat base beds to suit. Available in various sizes and can also customise the mattress to suit needs. Slat beds only as they are the best for latex to breathe. And they suggested flexi slats because you can increase or decrease the firmness of the mattress by adjusting the plastic tension system on the slats. Yes this sounds like a good place to go. We were the only customers in the store and we had the salesman's absolute attention. He was really quite good as he discussed with us the benefits of memory foam and pure latex and advised not all latex was created equal. An interesting point he mentioned was the fact that when the latex mattress layers are bound together as two separate layers stuck together, you don't get as hot as because the two negate each other when you're sleeping on it. Short of buying one, I don't know if I can believe this as it's contrary to what every other bedding place says, but then again none of the others' sold pure latex mattress, there's other 'ingredients' in the mix of the layer composition. Grrr. We found the prices to be on par with another bedding place we visited, so it was no great saving but on the other hand Town and Country deal with Dunlop an Australian Latex registered as Latex Gold, compared to the imported Latex from Thailand alot of the other stores deal with. We could also have a bottom layer of firm latex and the top layer as memory foam, whereas at the other stores we have to select from their named range only...and it's much more expensive, in fact double at some places. And again it's really tricky as each store has their own range manufactured to their specifications, so there is no way to compare apples to apples!! To be sure we went back to Forty Winks Mile End, as it was my first port of call on my bed adventure and wanted to compare the memory foam Tempur mattress, which was the one I got steered towards in the first place, but it's mega expensive - despite the current sale. My hubby doesn't like latex or memory foam as it was for my benefit he persisted in coming and he loves me (awww) so the option is clear...two separate mattresses on the one base which will give us a King size bed, or two long singles on individual bases, which equates to a King size - plus we can push them apart when we have a tiff, he, he,he!! So in short, what we've learnt from this experience and to suit our needs, it's the above option. Sure it would be cheaper to buy the one mattress as a whole, but it won't meet individual needs, so it's the next best thing despite costing more (but not a great deal), for a bed that should last over 10 - 15 years...a small price to pay for spending half your lifetime in bed, may aswell be comfortable.

(smell a latex glove, then times it by a million and try to sleep on it) I have a $2400 100% natural latex mattress that occupies our spare room and we cannot get a refund for it even though it is still brand new, because the only fault with it is that it smells like latex. Yep, that's what we bought !! It's been 18 months now and it still stinks really bad. Very sad, and a waste of money. If I can warn others of this major fault and stop them from going down the latex jargon path like I did my job is done. Buyer Beware
