Great ambiance! Food is good! Service is awesome! The area is full of near by shopping.

Decided to have some pho soup since it was raining and a little cold. Ordered the beef pho. Soup was tasty but not very temperature hot. Beef was not soft or tender, a little chewy. New spring rolls were pretty good.

My brother was craving Vietnamese food during our trip to Barcelona and we stumbled upon this nice little restaurant while walking around the city. We each got a bowl of Bun Bo Hue and a plate of the Phorrito to share. The Bun Bo Hue tasted authentic and was not too spicy. The broth was very rich and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was not an abundance of oil in it like I've seen at other restaurants. The Phorritto is a recent fusion trend of pho and a burrito which I originally knew to only been found in LA. When I saw it here, I decided why not? WOW. I was actually shocked how much I was enjoying the Phorrito as each bite was delightful. I liked to first dip it in the broth and then the hoisin sauce. Highly recommend this if you want to try something knew! Service was fast and extremely nice. There is also a mural right next to the restaurant many people were taking pictures with. A photo spot and authentic tasting Vietnamese food? I'll take it!!

    Banh mi to-go! Yum!

I can only rate the banh mi I had here (which I got to-go) and I was a total fan! I really enjoyed the bread and pate and the pork was so tender and it was just so different that the banh mi's i'm used to in NYC (which I love). About the same price as NYC prices too, but the pate made it fancy for this girl *points to self.* I might have made it less classy by walking around and eating it instead of sitting down, but I was enjoying the sandwich too much to care :) I would totally come back for another sandwich!

A for effort , but... I'm just not a fan. Don't let my judgement interfere in your interest to try. But because i grew up around this type of food, I'm used to being spoiled. I should know better to come to Spain and have this for lunch.. but i was a little homesick and this was around. I was disappointed, but i can't blame them. It was popping when i went though, but, it just wasn't for me. But it doesn't mean it isn't for you. If you really need it, you can definitely try it out. But If you're like me where you had it growing up, don't bring your hopes up...

    Mojito and sangría

Hungry, cranky and desperate for a drink and a small bite, we happened upon Bun Bo. While we had our reservations about Vietnamese food in Spain, we went for it, because the cheap mojito and sangria sign was very appealing, as was the free wifi. Well, you always get what you pay for. I got a cup of ice with a dash of sangria, and the spring rolls we ordered were, gasp, fried! Yech. Two stars because I always like a patio, the promise of a nice afternoon, and free wifi.

Dude. Come on people! You're in Barcelona. The international food scene is still growing and this place is an awesome addition to the neighborhood. Sure, the food isn't 100 on the authenticity scale, but the flavors are excellent and the spot is super chill. Definitely a nice switch up from comida catalana. It definitely does get quite crowded at night so be prepared to wait a bit, but if I were you, I'd hit up the menu del día and enjoy your €10 bomb lunch-- drink, appetizer, main dish and a sweet treat or coffee/tea. My go to: Pork nem, chicken pho, a ice cold cerveza and whatever the homemade cake is ;) Yup. Can't go wrong. Cute decor. Sweet servers. Free wifi. Air conditioning (you'd be surprised how many spots don't have AC in Barna). And most importantly, great food.

We came here after wanting some Asian food after eating tapas for almost two weeks. The place does get busy during prime hours. Wait is about 30 minutes for a party of two. We ordered the Pho and Bun. The pho's broth was bland and lacked flavor. The Bun was dry and the beef was cut too thick and overcooked and lack flavor. I'm from NYC and they don't have authentic Vietnamese and this place makes the places in NYC a 10. I give the place credit for the Vietnamese lanterns found in Hi An. The food has little resemblance to real Vietnamese food. Come here if you're really desperate for some Vietnamese otherwise, I say skip it.

The place is good but not authentic. It seems like it is a Chinese copy of Vietnamese restaurant. The interior is also strange... But anyway, the place is nice and the food is tasty. The service is very quick and very nice! Regarding the food I will recommend Nem (very close to the original) and also the traditional Vietnamese sandwich Bánh mì which is not traditional at all but is tasty. Bún bò is not a good option here - better choose something else.

Needed some veggies and really missing Asian food traveling in Spain (there's only so much bread,…read moremeat, & patata bravas I can eat) Also mending an ill stomach, I was excited to find this restaurant close to La Sagrada Familia. Turns out the owner is Cantonese-Chinese (possibly by way of Vietnam?), he wasn't entirely talkative, but this explains is culinary attention to flavor and quality of ingredients (knowing Cantonese techniques - but this actually explains how the actual food is- more about that below). Most of his extremely nice waitstaff were Nepali. Everyone communicated very well in Spanish & English. They seemed to have a lot of regular customers, some even hugging the who I assumed was the General Manager. I was craving a refreshing cold noodle salad and crunchy vegetables, the €9.50 Bun Bo Xao sounded great. It had rice noodles, lettuce, cucumber, fresh mint, topped with fried onions & peanut. I ordered the beef version. A small Vegetable triangle Spring Roll was complimentary at the beginning of the meal. The bowl was generously filled with all the fresh ingredients. What's different than how I've had this dish in NYC and LA (& I assume dishes are tweaked for the Spanish palette and style here), was that the lemongrass beef was stir-fried with a light gravy sauce (and not grilled and dry/nom-sauce), and the noodles were warm and tossed in the sauce also. The noodles were Mei Fun (rice vermicelli) and not the round spaghetti-like noodles that's usually used for the dish. There's usually Nuoc Cham sauce that comes with this dish, which you pour the "Nuoc Cham dressing" over everything & toss. However, since the noodles were already covered in the gravy sauce from the beef (with a pool at the bottom), it wouldn't have made sense anyway. Overall I was super happy to have noodles and food that tasted good. I saw a lot of tables order the same sauteed Lemongrass beef as a side dish. So- HOW do I know that this more Chinese than Vietnamese? The gravy-like sauces for the meats (& not primarily grilled meats and seafood), No typical condiments and ingredients like Nuoc Cham, pickled carrots & daikon, Siracha, Hoisin Sauce, & garlic chili set out at the table to customize the Pho. And no typical Vietnamese noodles (sounds like the other reviews about the Pho). I wonder if they have Vietnamese coffee...they can do Flan! A good bridge for cultures. Overall they have to cater to a predominantly Spanish Clientele to survive - basically ALL of the tables were eating Fried Rice (which looked like fast-food style, and a dish I actually haven't seen much at Vietnamese Restaurants). The restaurant is decorated very beautifully- BUT all of the ceiling tile work, wooden bar carvings of dragons- are decorations for a Chinese Restaurant (speaking from family experience business!). Overall, it's 4 stars & a decent experience for me- being what it is. I would come lowering your expectations- it's more like Chinese-light leaning Vietnamese Food. The staff did say that the owner is very secretive about his Pho recipe (I really hope that it's not from a boullion & spice powder mix). Will have to try it the next time I visit I guess - BUT knowing that they don't give you a plate of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime wedge, possibly some jalepenos - then I probably won't like my Pho (light & safe) experience.. & I get it, How do you train customers to prepare a bowl of Pho at their tables, without high overhead costs? Too much of a learning & communication curve. But good luck to them, good to have options in that neighborhood & Barcelona in general. Ran into some of the workers on their 3hr break later and they kindly showed me to the Metro. I want to note the Spanish translation of cucumber is so interesting - "papaya green."

However, after 10+ days of pinxtos and tapas, I was yearning for some soup noodles and my Shin ramen ran out. Pork spring rolls had that bubbly, chewy 'imperial' skin. The filling is a bit different - more like an egg roll - with ground pork and glass noodles. The fish sauce was more sour and vinegary. Well, we are in Spain so it was good for where we were. I saw someone else's summer rolls and they looked good - shrimp and all in clear skin. Chicken pho - grilled chicken. Thick noodles that were dried and cooled, but still a tough al dente. The soup was not stewed for hours or had that wholesome chicken essence. Not my kind of pho but it was hot soup noodles. Shrug. I wouldn't get it again. I added a ton of herbs and lime, which I don't normally do. I did love the herb accompaniment. So fresh and large. Because of this, when I burped later, I did feel like I ate pho. Heheh Service was quick and good so no complaints! I think Vietnamese food is rare here. I see more Chinese and Japanese people and food in Barcelona, which probably would've been the safer option...
