We would highly recommend Scotts pest control to anyone looking to have their crawlspace encapsulated. we did our due diligence by getting estimates from 4 reputable companies. Scout's offered the best overall service and products, they removed the old 6 mil plastic vapor barrier and small debris and hauled it all away, raked and smoothed out the ground to provide the optimal surface for the vapor barrier, wrapped all of the piers with vapor barrier, installed "Bora-Foam" insulation board (termite repellenting) to the exterior foundation walls, proactively installed radon mitigation piping stubbed out and capped just above the vapor barrier and installed an "April Aire" dehumidifier (on its own dedicated electrical circuit) and it's so quiet we cannot hear it running from inside the house. They also did a proactive termite treatment around the entire foundation of the house. Kenny had a team 4 people working in the crawlspace a few days, other days 3 but not less than 2 all other days for almost 2 weeks. We are very happy with the work that they did.

Then I called a major National chain pest control company who took one look at a tiny bug that I had in a bag and said, "Yep, that's a bed bug." They offered the saving Grace of charging me $3,000 to do a bed bug treatment that the man admitted might not work. I called Procore pest control to get a second opion and because they offer heat treating and a solid warranty which you need with bed bugs. Gene came out and took our samples back to the office to look them over with a microscope. He confirmed that they were an easy to rid beetle and for a mere $100 our problem is solved. ORKIN GREENVILLE SC # 404 Part II : After posting my review…read moreon Sept 14th, I had a man call me from the Greenville office on Sept. 15th @ 1:42P. He asked me a few questions about my review I posted, stated he was sorry I had that experience & he would take care of it & have my house "re-inspected". Well, today is Sept. 30th, and I haven't had a "re-inspection" yet!! So 15 days later- Orkin still hasn't taken care of a "unhappy" customer? Doesn't say a lot for their "customer relations" & wanting to "rectify a complaint" does it?

edit 2: they came out and said they fixed everything. This means they stated they cleaned up all…read morethe bat poop, disinfected the area, and put in new insulation. NO THEY DID NOT! See pictures of all the bat poop that is STILL in my attic@ *edit 1: since this post was created, Orkin called and came out to my home. A plan was made to correct the issue! My husband and I purchased our dream home. Once we moved in, the cold set in for the year driving in lots of unwanted pests. I called Orkin because they are nationally known and thought they would do a good job. We had mice, rats, snakes, and bats!! (Although at the time, we thought the bats were just birds) I walked the Orkin employee around the property pointing out areas of MAJOR concern. One of these areas is where the bats are located...STILL! We signed a contract and were charged about $25,000 to fix everything. It came with a guarantee that everything would be removed AND the house would be 100% sealed up so nothing else could get inside the home. Well, this did NOT happen: *Bats were never removed and still finding ways inside the attic where they have left a considerable amount of guano ruining all of the new insulation Orkin installed. A BIG issue is when they sealed up the living space of the house, mice were still inside the house and ATE A HOLE in my BRAND NEW couch! With a mouse problem they apparently "fixed" you would think they would have left a few mouse traps out just in case they trapped any INSIDE. NOPE! Ruined my couch I literally just had delivered!! *Bats are now swooping down to my front porch WHERE MY 22 MONTH old son almost grabbed one that landed! We immediately called Orkin and were told sorry about the issues and they would be out ASAP to get it all fixed. They promised to remove the bats, remove the insulation, sanitize the attic, and make it to where bats could no longer get inside and be a nuisance. I was given a date 2 weeks from when I called. The date came and no one showed between the time frame I was given. I called and they sent out a few people to "look" at the issue!! Why did they not come look during the 2 weeks? The manager, Greg, calls me letting me know their bat person is on vacation and will return Monday (this was 12 days ago). He assured me I would hear from them and they would make a plan to fix the problem. I had to call AGAIN and have still not had anyone return my call. We paid around $25,000 for a job to be done and have had one problem after another. My son cannot even PLAY OUTSIDE for fear these bats are going to swoop down on the porch AGAIN and he grab one! I would NEVER recommend this company. We are stuck paying this absorbent fee we were charged for a service that was not completed but I hope no one else ends up in my situation. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to pay someone else to do the job. We are at the mercy of this company to actually complete the job and make my home safe for my child! Each week that passes only makes the bats problem WORSE because it was mating season. They have now moved from just one gable to all FOUR gables!!! I am hoping and praying they come fix this issue ASAP and we don't have more problems!
