Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

All of this was served by a waiter who was funny, polite and very efficient. This was a extremely pleasurable experience which I fully intend on repeating very soon.

The owners, Dave and Sharon, are very friendly. They look after their patrons, and put on live music and host karaoke nights regularly. The pub is cosy and friendly, and in a great location for walkers and cyclists on the Tissington trail. The form of the draught beer is consistently of high quality. The staff are very friendly and there is always a warm atmosphere. It can get a little cramped sometimes, due to it's own popularity, so if you want a seat, I'd advise an early (pre-20:00) arrival. There is a patrons car park to the rear, for those with a designated driver. If you like traditional pubs, you'll love this place. It has (finally!) won the CAMRA (Potteries Division) Pub Of The Month award for December 2012. Recognition well deserved and not before time!
