We enrolled our son when he was only three months old, and Building Blocks has been so important to our family. It's the perfect combination of a family oriented facility (everyone knows his name, our names, and cares deeply for him) and a highly functioning, professional place. They are EXCELLENT communicators- unbelievably responsive and show the utmost quality of care for our most important little guy. There are always things happening at BB! From themed days, special events, to the incredible lessons the teachers put together... the kids are busy. And we get awesome pictures of all the things they're doing during the day. It really feels like a village, and we feel truly lucky to have our son grow up there, and plan to enroll our new baby there in the fall. Our daughter has been enrolled at Building Blocks since she was 3 months old and we couldn't be happier with her daycare. The care is fantastic, the office staff is friendly and always available if you need them or to just give a smile and a Hello. Even with her being in the infant room, we have gotten to know all the staff throughout the daycare, and they are all wonderful friendly individuals who love what they do. We never once worried about her while she was there, and we're always kept up to date on every little thing she needed or did that day. We really can't say enough about the wonderful care Claire received by the staff, as our first child it was especially nice to know she was in such great hands. The staff was also so accommodating for any asks or needs we had. We had to change her schedule a few times due to work changes and they were always so helpful to adjust on short notice without any fines or difficulties. We are just so greatful for the safe, structured and positive environment that have provided for our daughter every day! read more

We've been sending our daughter to CWA for years and it's been the best facility we could ask for. The staff becomes extended family. The front desk employees know you by name and accommodates large and small requests. Each teacher has been great- our daughter started in a room for younger kids- and the teacher was caring and kind. Our daughter started at Child's World Academy last year. As parents, we were nervous about the transition to another school, but we couldn't be happier! I give this place the highest rating possible!! For starters, they provide parents with an app called Tadpoles. This app allows the teachers to send pictures and updates throughout the day to the parents and anyone else you would like the pictures sent to. You can receive them either through the app, or just through your regular email. When you check your child out for the day, an entire report of what they learned, what they ate, when they went to the bathroom (for infants/toddlers), as well as the activities they participated in is sent to you. It is AMAZING from a parents perspective to just get these wonderful messages of what your child is doing is to be rest assured that they are happy and having fun! To get into the building, you also have your own passcode. Everyone that is allowed to pick up your child is presented with a unique passcose that no other parent has duplicated. This is not only for protection, but also so they can monitor who comes in/out of the building. To check your child in, there is a fingerprint scanner that anyone who is authorized to drop off/ pick up will be registered in the system for. This makes the process so much more quicker and secure. Although not to worry, say that you have asked an unauthorized user to pick up your child? All you need to do is make the front desk staff aware, and they will then match their Driver's Licence to the name you provide in order to grant them access for the day. In each room they have surveillance cameras that are placed on display on a large flat screen TV as soon as you walk in. If you would like to observe your child before picking them up or after dropping them all, just simply ask the front desk staff to enlarge that video on the TV screen and you have full screen access. (There is also complimentary coffee provided for you to sip in peace!) If you are bringing a little one here? They provide the diapers and wipes!!! HOW CONVENIENT. Saves us moms A LOT of money. All we need to do is provide them with the diaper cream/powder. I have my 15mo old son enrolled and he has been here since he turned 1; He absolutely LOVES it. His teachers are Ms. Megan and Ms. Danesha in Toddler A, and they are so fantastic; I couldn't have imagined more perfect individuals to take care of my son. I will be home talking with him and he will be motioning out all different types of sign language signs! As a mother, this makes me SO proud! He knows words such as 'More Please', 'Table', 'Chair' and many other signs! There are probably multiple that I haven't even recognized because I am not fluent in the language, but he knows what he is talking about! They also teach them Spanish as well! He comes home and will start singing along to all of these nursery rhymes that I had no idea that he knew, I cannot express enough how much his intelligence and comprehension has expanded since enrolling him in the Child's World Academy. To close this extremely long review, I will say that years ago when this building was owned by the day care company, Tutor Time, I was a student here with the very same directors working here now, and even some staff members! I was enrolled here at a very young age, and stayed here until I was about 13yrs old. The Director Lisa and the Owner Patty have literally watched me grow up, and they are now watching my son blossom over the years as well. From a child's perspective, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed my many days here filled with caring fun and excitement, which is why I could not see placing my child any where else! I am willing to go out of my way to drive my son here in the mornings because I am extremely confident that this school is the best option for my child and any child, hands down! read more

I wish I could give Child's World Academy zero stars. I'm still deciding whether or not I should report them to the state of CT. Things started out well - My son (now 13 months old) started at CWA when he was 8 months old in the infant room. They staff in that room were really wonderful. I was concerned that the room was too small but I figured "How much space do babies really need?" It turns out if the kids don't have enough space and they're in really close quarters (no matter how much you clean) they get sick. ALOT. When my son moved up to the toddler room when he was 12 months old...that's when the bigger issues started. He was put in a TINY room the size of a walk in closet. There were 3 to 7 other kids in that space with 1 to 2 adults. It was unbelievable. In the beginning I though that maybe they spent a lot of time outside of the room. Not so much. Those kids were squeezed in there basically the whole day. My son kept coming home with bite marks everyday that the staff knew nothing about. I suspect the room was so claustrophobic that the kids were getting upset and biting each other. I also did not like the lead teacher in that room. I once saw her scoot a child in the door with her foot (I complained, nothing was done about it.) I was also there when this teacher told a toddler to get down from the top of a table. He struggled to get down and fell and hit his head on the floor. (Another complaint, nothing done. I pulled my son out of there less than a week later.) A friend of mine told me that she heard my son's teacher yelling at the kids when she was dropping her daughter off in the room next door.(This friend has also removed her daughter from CWA) It was building up to it but in the end I pulled my son out the day that the director called me and said my son had been bitten, again. She then told me she "wouldn't have called at all except that there might be a bite mark left on his skin." I was furious. Bottom line: too crowded, too small of a space, horrible staff, a business that just wants to squeeze more kids in to make an extra dollar...I feel terrible I kept my son in there for even an hour. read more

Child's World Academy has treated my daughter with such care and love! I was so worried about leaving her for the first time but Ms. Elena in the baby room took amazing care of her along with all of the other wonderful teachers. I am alerted immediately of any type of injury, as babies learning to walk will inevitably get, and they are hugged and loved until they feel better.My daughter was an infant when she started and is now 17 months and I would not even think of changing. We wanted to share our gratitude for Child's World Academy. We have moved quite a bit and have had our children in several daycare and preschool facilities. Child's World Academy is by far the best experience we have had. It is a safe and structured environment. The communication and daily feedback, including pictures, is wonderful. My family has been part of the Child's World Academy family for over 6 years. My children have been in every room from infants to morning care before school. The staff are caring and nurturing, allowing my kids to grow and learn while having fun. My kids now (both school age) love summer camp. So many wonderful experiences, from trips to in-house shows and projects. They love returning each year to see the same friends from area school districts. I have sent my children here for over 16 years! The staff here is the best! My girls have attended as babies & preschoolers. They went to Kindergarten here, after school & summer camp. Today will be my youngest daughter's last day at this school - her last day of summer camp. Next year, she will be 13 and too old to attend. The quality of care and learning that my children receive from Child's World Academy is amazing! I visited many different daycare centers looking for only the best for my children.
