We own a an 1860s farmhouse and recently had Builders Installed Products insulate our attic. We could not be more pleased with the entire experience from the original site visit, the proposal, the professionalism and ultimately and most importantly the execution on the day of the job. The 3 individuals who did the job were outstanding in every regard, sensitive to everything encountered both inside our home and out and left the entire place spotless. I cannot offer a stronger recommendation and would welcome engaging them again if/when we have other projects as well. read more

Do not hire builders insulation. They are incompetent...do not show up when they are scheduled and their management is unaccountable.

Although highly recommended and working with my builder, I would not recommend this company to anyone. My house is a zero clearance fully accessible residence and my master shower enclosure is difficult because there is no sill. I had requested a large glass enclosure and they had to measure twice and do a custom job. Because i have my controls on the right side entrance half wall and made to hinge on the left glass wall, the glass was very heavy. When they installed the glass wall, the glass wall was mounted 4-6 inches in from the door narrowing the shower width to less than ADA standards. The shower entrance door was 26 inches at the bottom and 28 inches at the top, also less than ADA standards. I was told that this was because of the weight of the door exceeded the ability of the glass wall to support it. My bathroom has radiant heat which was not communicated to the sub by the builder although I did tell the installer once he started to drill into the tile floor. During the installation, the door did not fit and they had to drill several times into the tile floor trying to get it to fit. On the third attempt, they must have hit the floor wiring and shorted the radiant heating. After much discussion back and forth and involving the builder's foreman, the radiant floor installer (tile people) ordered the repair kit. I was told by BIP it was my fault because I did not let them know that there was a radiant floor and which should have been communicated by the builder, I did however, tell the installer at the beginning. The same crew tried to install my grab bars and the builder's foreman, who was now present, showed them pictures of the room before drywalling, pointing out the backer boards and studs (and discussed at length when the BIP gentleman was present during our walk around back at stud stage). I was present during this conversation between the installer and foreman. The installers were unable to install one of the shower grab bars ("screws won't go in") even though it was on the opposite side of the half wall where the grab bar for the tub was located on the backer board. They also drilled into the shower back wall grouting, not finding the stud and leaving a hole in the grout. They quit at this point. The company now wants to split the cost of a new shower enclosure with me. I have no idea who is paying for the radiant floor repair and tile removal/replacement, To their credit, they did do a reasonable job installing the glass enclosure for the guest bathroom. Since I have not had a master bath since I moved in a month ago, I have been using this shower. Other than two bills for the installation/glass cost and the offer to split the cost for a new enclosure, no one has communicated with me. They never told me when they were returning to remove the glass so the floor repair could begin. I only knew what day because the tile person informed me. There has been no discussion on an alternative enclosure design to restore the shower to ADA standards other than a suggested design provided by an architect/engineer family member but no communication as whether BIP found this feasible. I have no faith in these people knowing what they are doing. The work that was done was not top quality and apparently the support tracks had been cut too short which I found out when they removed the existing glass today . They do not communicate with the homeowner. I would think twice about hiring them. read more

When I arrived at my semi~burned out house this morning, I found my front door wide open, the locked inner door wide open and the back door locked up tight. This company was the last to be in our house, installing insulation in the attic and more. Apparently those doors were wiiiide open all night. The house was empty except for a whole lot of personal tools belonging to our contractor. A quart of white latex paint had been overturned in our foyer, probably by a crew member hauling in giant rolls of insulation. The front steps caked with plaster, I would assume by the crew entering & exiting. No clean up involved. I am not happy about this. read more

This is a company that takes pride in their work!!!! My project started with a very poor builder Rourke Construction of Lowell, (Ryan is terrible to work with) which left our project unfinished. So, we started to work direct with Builders Installed Products, and words do not convey just how good this company is. The sales rep. Joshua Williamson came to our residence multiple times, was very professional and equally important very conscientious. He was honest, and forthright throughout our project. We had 6" half round gutters with 10 downspouts to a 4000 sq ft home in Dunstable Mass. Joshua ask the operations manager Jim Noonan to make a site visit. He came to the residence twice to make sure everything was perfect. The two installers Jon Clark and Nick Vallarand worked for over a week. The attention to detail was amazing. Our faith in the contractor trades is renewed because of companies like this. Great team of people !!! read more

Builders does great work. My house was losing heat faster than the Red Sox can lose a game and they came in and insulated my attic and now my house is staying warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. The guys who came were professional and clean and did an awesome job letting me know what I could improve. read more

Wish I could put less than one star. Looked for an insulation professional and did not hire one. One day after product was installed it was falling down. Numerous complaints have gone nowhere. Plenty of promises but never fixed lousy install. Run away from this contractor - find a real professional. read more

Unreal. After being up most of the night with a sick child, I hear footsteps in my house at 7:15am. The crew decided to enter my home with out so much as a knock on the door. Did I mention that I didn't even hire these idiots and that they were at the wrong house?!? They were in my house for several minutes before I confronted them and asked them to leave and the driver insisted that he checked with his supervisor and they were at the correct address...After pretty much shoving them out the door I contacted their office and was offered a "stuff happens" attitude by the first person I spoke to followed by a not so sincere apology from the regional manager stating that the job the were supposed to be on was on a few blocks away. God forbid these clowns could actually read a map or street name. I should mention that we are putting an addition on our house, but that doesn't give anybody the right to enter a property without permission. Never had to double check the door locks on my house in my neighborhood, but after these guys had a good look around you bet I will. Hire a smarter contractor. read more

Don't use! Very unreliable. I made an appointment with a sale rep on May 7, 2015. I received 2 quotes from him for either a closed cell or open cell insulation job for my rear attic eave. I kept calling and emailing because I wanted to talk with Bob before I made my decision so I could send him a deposit and get on his list before the winter. Well today is July 31st and I called Bob again. This time he finally responded with a voice mail that he was sorry that he never got back to me but now they are too busy to do my small job and that I should find someone else. Great! I work full time. Have limited time off. And now I need to start at square one again and it is getting late to get on someone else's list. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! VERY UNRELIABLE! Actually I am glad this happen as they probably would have done a half ass job with the insulation job just as they did with their customer service.
