I had a new structure built about 3 years ago and Builders did the spray foam. Initially, all was well. But a few months ago, we notice that it was pretty cold in the "attic" area (which was heated and insulated), especially on some of the very chilly days we had in January. Upon further inspection, we saw that the spray foam had large fissures in it (cracks) where you could see the roof sheathing. It seemed to have shrunk and exposed a lot of places for heat to escape.
I contacted my GC who then put me directly in touch with Builders. After a little phone tag, they came out to inspect it, and two weeks later removed the old insulation and re-sprayed the space, all at their expense. They were very apologetic, as well as polite, thorough, and clean. They took the time to leave the space as clean as they found it and would not even let me buy them lunch.
Unexpected things happen in construction (many of them bad). What separates good vendors from bad ones is how they react. Builders clearly stood behind their product and made things right.
I would heartily recommend them for any insulation job! read more
